Here are all my reviews:
  • Gillette Venus & Olay Razor

I'd like to begin this review with two disclaimers: 1. I am a long-time fan of Gillette Venus razors. I've been very happily using the Venus Embrace for YEARS. 2. I received the Sugarberry scent of this product from Total Beauty to review (but as always, all opinions are mine). I have never tried a razor with the built in moisture bars before but I've always been curious. I think I was the most nervous about the scent because I don't really love most products that are super sweet, but my sense of smell also isn't the strongest. I gave this a healthy sniff as soon as I pulled it out of the package and it did have a sweet smell, but it wasn't overwhelming or unpleasant. And that was the last time I ever picked up any scent on this product, so I'm not sure why it's being marketed as if the scent is a huge deal, but maybe someone with a stronger sense of smell will get more out of it. It took a little bit to get the hang of shaving with such a bulky razor, but once I did I was very pleased with it. The bars are very moisturizing and I got a nice, close shave. For the first time ever I didn't even need to put cream on my legs after my shower because the bars on the razor had left my legs feeling soft and moisturized. I was slightly concerned with how flexible the bars seemed to be--like they might break off before I was finished using the razor or something. But I've been using it regularly for a couple weeks and haven't had any issues. I think the moisture bars are going to list just about as long as the blades, do, as I've used it several times now and expect them to begin to be dull any day now. I like this razor for shaving under my arms as well, but the razor blade is a bit bulky and difficult to use for the bikini area. I haven't checked the price on refill blades yet, but I would definitely consider using this razor regularly.

  • Arbonne RE9 Advanced Smoothing Facial Cleanser

I received an envelope filled with Arbonne samples from their RE9 line and I used the all together (for as long as each sample lasted), so I can only speak for results of this product when used with the others. This cleanser is pleasant. It lathers very lightly and doesn't have an overly strong scent. It's a very gentle cleanser and I felt it left my skin truly, deeply clean without being harsh or drying. I took stars off because it was nice but didn't seem all that special and because I looked up this line and the prices are very high (in my opinion). I realize they are high quality, but I am still bummed that they are so far outside my budget.

  • Arbonne RE9 Advanced Intensive Renewal Serum

I received a lovely envelope full of Arbonne samples in the mail recently (yay!). I don't normally use any kind of serum, but this one was included in the samples, so I gave it a try. The only thing is...I used the serum with all the other product samples that were sent--a face wash, eye cream, night cream, and day cream. So all my comments will be based on how the serum performed when used with the other products in the set. Coming out of the little foil packet, the serum is yellow and has a creamier look than I was expecting from a serum (I'm not sure why, since I don't use them, but I expected a serum to be clear). A little goes a long way and skin just soaks this stuff right up. It's amazing. Used all together, as directed, these products made my skin look so smooth and amazing. My blackheads disappeared, my pores were minimized, my skin tone evened out. And I saw all these results OVERNIGHT. I couldn't believe it. I didn't even have a hint of a breakout while I was using the Arbonne products, though they didn't really do anything to control oil (which is fine, they don't claim to--these are anti-aging products). I only took one star off because after I saw how effective the products are, I looked them up and they are way outside my price range. If I was going to buy just one product from this RE9 series, I would buy this serum. I'm curious what the results would be using it separate from the other products in the set and it's such a high quality product, I don't need much for each application so I feel the bottle would last a long enough time to be worth the cost.

  • Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner
    5.0

    Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner

    Not long wear at all...

This is the first eyeliner I decided to test out as a candidate for my wedding next year. Clearly I need something waterproof and/or long wear! This is not going to be it. In fact, I used it once and plan to return it. I'm not saying it's the worst liner I've ever used, by any means, and I'm sure plenty of other people might have success with this liner, but I definitely didn't. My upper lids are especially droopy and my lids are also oily, so every bit of this liner was long gone just a couple hours after I had applied it. The formula is lovely--smooth and easy to apply, especially if you have a high quality brush. (I don't--I have a cheap brush, but it still was easy and pleasant to apply.) The pigmentation is also good. I have read many reviews (both on here and on Sephora) stating that the product dries out quickly. I don't plan to keep it long enough to find out, but it's definitely something to be aware of if you're considering this purchase. I almost returned it without even trying it because of the reviews saying it dries out too fast. With my wedding still well over a year away, I didn't want to have to re-purchase a $23 liner with most of a jar left, just because the product dried up.

  • Maybelline New York Dream Bouncy Blush
    10.0

Maybelline New York Dream Bouncy Blush

Pretty & fun, perfect for travel

I have always been a loyal fan of powder blush. Sometimes I would consider trying a cream blush or one of those all-in-one type products, but eventually I would talk myself out of it. I was in Target the other day and I decided I wanted to finally get a cream blush. I wanted something I could apply with my fingers, mostly so I could downsize my makeup bag for travel. I have a trip coming up during which I know I won't wear much makeup, but I will want to have some key items with me for those occasions when I do want to have some makeup on. I was in a bit of a rush, so maybe I missed something, but it appeared that this blush was the only one my Target had in stock that was not a powder. From ANY brand. So this is the one I purchased. The colors all looked frighteningly bright to me in the store, but I finally settled on the Pink Plum shade. I was definitely intrigued by this "bouncy" concept and the fact that it says it's a cream/powder type product. I LOVE this blush. I still prefer powder for being quick & easy, but this product is exactly what I wanted for travel. It is easy to apply with my fingers--I just tap and/or gently rub (very gently as this product does have a bit of squish to it) on the product then tap and blend onto my cheeks--so I won't have to pack my blush brush. What looks like a scary bright color in the compact blends nicely into a sheer, natural flush that is buildable if I want a little more color and perfectly flattering on my fair skin. I noticed several reviews indicating this might fade throughout the day, so I kept an eye on it all day yesterday and had no issues with fading at all. I wear it over Aveeno BB cream, then dusted with Guerlain Meteorites, so maybe that combination gives it more staying power? I'm not sure--on the trip I'll be wearing it only with the BB cream, as the meteorites are not so much designed to travel well, so we'll see if that makes a difference I guess. Like I said, I still prefer powder blush for every day, though I may grab this from time to time as it is fun...but this is PERFECT for travel and probably will be the only blush I bring on trips from now on. I only need a tiny amount to get the color I like, so I think that tiny (again, ideal for travel!) compact is going to last a nice, long time.

  • Crest Complete Multi-Benefit Whitening + Scope

This is a nice toothpaste! It cleans well and leaves my breath feeling fresh for a long time. I feel like I even wake up with a little less icky morning breath after I've brushed with this at night. I don't think it does much for whitening, but I'm ok with that.

  • Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Facial

I had a sample of this once a couple years ago and seeing this product on here immediately brought it back to mind. I LOVED this. It has a nice scent, it was easy to apply, and I could feel it tingling and working while I left it on my skin as instructed. When I rinsed it off, it left my skin looking amazing. It is only the price that put me off from buying the full-size. If you can afford it, I definitely recommend trying this out!

  • Yankee Candle Company Midsummer's Night Housewarmer Jar Candle

As others have said on here (and anywhere I go and talk about candles) this candle smells like a man. In a good way. A great way, in fact. The scent is strong without being overwhelming and is musky but somehow still light. It's very pleasant and I love it any time of year.

  • Yankee Candle Company Home Sweet Home Housewarmer Jar Candle

This is my all time favorite candle scent! My aunt used to burn these at her house when I was growing up and that's when I learned what the scent was and how much I loved it. I buy these regularly and never get tired of the scent. To me it's mostly cinnamon, but there are other spices mixed in there as well. It's strong without being overwhelming, and as always, the Yankee candles burn evenly and are definitely worth the cost.

  • Yankee Candle Company Lilac Blossoms Housewarmer Jar Candle

My fiance and I are big fans of Yankee candles and this scent in particular is a favorite of mine. I love the scent of lilacs and while some scented candles smell too fake, this is not one of them! These candles burn really well and even if you're lazy like I am about trimming the wick, you won't have any problems with it burning unevenly.
