Here are all my reviews:
  • Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion Moisture Balance Shampoo

I bought this because my hair tends to be very dry as a rule and I had read good things about this product. Unfortunately, it did nothing at all... my hair was clean after I used this (and the conditioner) but not hydrated at all. WHile it didn't dry me out, it didn't add nearly enough hydration to my hair to make it worth my while at all. So I gave it to my son who has normal hair and the opposite problem surfaced... it gave him the greasies. So it doesn't work well enough for very dry hair and works too well for normal hair. If you have just mild dryness, this may be the perfect product.

  • Aveda Shampure Shampoo

    Aveda Shampure Shampoo

    Good shampoo

When my daughter turned six, I started taking her to my Aveda salon. Up to that point, I was still using the typical drugstore baby shampoos on her. The stylist pointed out that her flyaway hair was probably dry and I should try Shampure shampoo and conditioner. What a difference! Her hair, which had always been fine and flyaway and which I always chalked up to "baby hair" texture, was suddenly soft and manageable. And it even seems to be growing in thicker after about 6 months of using this! I love the smell of Shampure, but my 6-year old is not a big fan. She is a fan of her prettier hair, though, so she's getting used to the smell. :) My son, however, who has very normal hair, gets "the greasies" with prolonged use of Shampure, so I think it is best suited to dry hair types.

  • Jergens Original Scent Cherry-Almond Moisturizer

Sometimes the basics really are the best. We ALWAYS have a huge bottle of this in the kitchen for everyone in the family to use. The scent is clean and subtle - not over-the-top flowery or musky like many moisturizers. And it moisturizers soooooo well. Every winter, my son's hands dry out so badly they crack - until he starts using this, which heals them up right away. As for me, I'm a doctor and consequently wash my hands dozens of times per day. With regular use of Jergens Original, they never dry out. A must-have in our household.

  • Lancome Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover

This one costs more than most of the other dual-action makeup removers on the market, but my experience has been that it also outperforms all of the others and it seems like I've tried them all. Bifacil gets off every last bit of makeup with one application. It does leave a light oily layer on my eyes, but that comes off readily with face washing, which is the next logical step anyway. Overall, a great product.

  • Merle Norman LUXIVA Dual Action Eye Makeup Remover

This works just fine and removes most eye makeup, but I found that I usually still had a thin layer of mascara on after use, requiring a second or third application. While this one costs less than Lancome Bifacil ($14.50 for this vs. $27 for Bifacil), the extra product required to do the same job probably makes it a less desirable deal.

  • L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara Black

I've always considered Original Voluminous to be my go-to mascara, but gave this one a try due to a BOGO deal. Wow - this thickens just as well as Voluminous but adds even more length! No problems at all here with application, flakes or clumpiness. I have a new favorite!

  • Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup SPF 10

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup SPF 10

Huge disappointment - rosacea sufferers beware

I typically think of Estee Lauder as a company that does really well for 30+ skin, so was very excited when they came up with a long-wearing foundation. Unfortunately, I found this one to be heavy and mask-like... and it settled in and accentuated fine lines. It just looked awful even in the most forgiving light. Even worse? After just one or two uses, it caused the only rosacea flare-up I've had in years. I just threw out the whole bottle and started over with another brand.

  • Aquage Beyond Shine

I can't believe this product page isn't glutted with glowing reviews! There is only one must-have, won't-leave-the-house-without product in my beauty routine and this is it! My fine hair is flyaway and mildly damaged from years of coloring, but one light misting of this stuff just before straightening and my hair is transformed - into shiny, glossy, silky-soft hair that everyone compliments. It's amazing. A little goes a LONG way, so only a very light mist is all that's needed (too much will give you "the greasies.") Consequently, one bottle lasts a long time, making it a good value. It also protects hair from damage from styling tools. My stylist has thick, coarse hair and she swears by this stuff too, so it apparently works for all hair types. I make sure I always have at least one or two cans in reserve because to run out of Beyond Shine would be my worst beauty nightmare. The down-side is that Aquage is pretty selective about who sells their products and so they can be difficult to find. There is a salon locator on the Aquage web site or you can find their stuff on Amazon.

    L'Oreal Paris Infallible Le Rouge

    Long lasting without drying

I love that this lipstick lasts as long as it does without feeling dry and cakey the way most long-wearing lip products do. This is the only lipstick I wear on workdays anymore because my days are far too busy to bother with pausing to re-apply. Love this stuff! That being said, I'd say that 5-6 hours is probably the limit. If it lasted the full16 that it claimed, this would definitely be a 10-star product.

  • L'Oreal Paris Infallible Advanced Never Fail Makeup
    7.0

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Advanced Never Fail Makeup

    Long-wearing with packaging problems

This foundation gives good coverage and lasts all day without feeling or looking mask-like as many foundations in the long-wearing category do. I've recently stopped using it because it tends to settle into fine lines, but this was my go-to foundation throughout my 30s. Unfortunately, the bottles are VERY prone to clogging up, causing the product to splatter in every direction. As a result, it is splattered on the walls in my bathroom and WON'T COME OFF! I'm actually going to have to paint over it. I guess that's a testament to how well it lasts....
