    Lancome Definicils High Definition Mascara

best mascara ive used to date.

I've purchased many different brands of mascara over the years, from $5 drugstore brands to $30 high end types. I have been so jaded by the lack of a stand out brand that I refused to believe my sister when she said that this stuff was THE mascara. Needless to say, Definicils is THE mascara. You get your money's worth - no flaking, no clumping, and one coat gives you very dramatic eyelashes. Primer is not necessary, but you can use it for a boost. Primer 2 coats? Massive lashes. I have yet to compare it to Diorshow, which seems to be the only other mascara that might be as amazing.

  • CHI Turbo Ceramic Flat Iron, 2 Inch

CHI Turbo Ceramic Flat Iron, 2 Inch

    worth the extra money.

My mother's a hairdresser, and she says its essential that straightening irons come with an adjustable heat dial, which this one does. It heats up to the highest setting evenly in minutes (usually feels like seconds), leaves hair straight and shiny, and feels incredibly sturdy and comfortable in your hands. I do not experience any hair-ripping or hair burning. As far as the quality of the piece of equipment itself - I accidentally left it plugged in and on the highest heat setting for 2 or 3 days. There were no burn marks in the area surrounding the iron. Its been a year since that incident, and it still works like new.

  • LORAC Visual Effects Mascara

I love LORAC for its wide variety of wearable browns, neutrals, bronzes and lip stains, but its mascaras always fall short. Even when used with a primer, this mascara does not live up to its claims at all. It separated and defined perfectly ok, but you can get that with almost any drugstore mascara. Don't let the gimmicky brush fool you.

  • Burberry Classic

    Burberry Classic

    wearing it for 5 years

This is the only perfume of which I've bought bottle after bottle. It is subtle and natural, and melts into your skin. It not a scent that ages you (I'm 26). The wearer doesnt smell it after awhile, but that doesnt mean that people around wont notice (a phenomenon that I don't notice with any other scent). My hairdresser smelled it on me once and said, "are you wearing burberry? I wear it too, and I never think other people can smell it. guess I was wrong!" Its not for everyone, and I've only bought 2 other perfumes in the interim (burberry summer - too crisp, but more appropriate for summer - and Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B.). Burberry will always be my go-to scent.

  • LORAC Sheer Wash - Sheer Luck

I have tried many lip stains, and this one from LORAC is my favorite by far. There is a trick to applying it, and you do have to use a finger to even the stain out, but thats a small price to pay for the level of pigment and the staying power of this stain. Now that I think about it, I have to use a finger to even out the application of every stain I've ever purchased, anyway. Brushes leave harsh lines that only fingers can erase. I rarely get this impressed about a makeup product, especially an item that I am so picky about. Can't recommend her Sheer Washes to stain-addicts enough.

  • LORAC Lotsa Lip Plumping Lip Gloss

LORAC Lotsa Lip Plumping Lip Gloss

its ok if you dont really want to purchase a gloss

these lip glosses very much suffer from "40-something divorcee vacationing in san tropez" syndrome. way too much gold and shimmer in all of these. i thought i had picked the least shimmery, but it was a trick of the light. when you pair a dense, dry gloss with dense amounts of gold and shimmer, its just not attractive. personally, lipstick never stays on me and in place for very long, so i avoid it. i stick with sheer to medium glosses so i dont have to worry about where the color is sliding or if its smudged, and so i dont have to apply it with a mirror (i need moisture on my lips constantly). i prefer glosses to chapstick because i tend to look washed out without a little bit of color on the lip. her glosses totally defeat the purpose - the upkeep is closer to a lip stick than a gloss. it reminds me of a $2 wet and wild gloss that my mom used to wear with a super dark lip penciled outline. in fact, i was about to return this, but since i owed my mother a favor, i just gave this to her.

  • Make Up For Ever Eye Shadow

I judge eyeshadow lines by the quality of its black shade. I did not bother trying any of this lines other colors, as its black eyeshadow came up GREY after repeated layering. Applying the eyeshadow wet had the same effect. This kind of poor pigment level in a shade as simple as black (along with a few other disappointments from this line) put me off of purchasing from make up for ever ever again.
