  • Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream SPF 15

I had no idea what BB cream was when I bought it, I just saw an ad in Glamour or somewhere about this tinted moisturizer that provided a little more coverage than regular TMs and helped even out skin tone. I don't need a lot of coverage to begin with, so this product works well for me. I have normal-to-dry light olive skin with a little uneveness, so a product that has moisturizer, coverage and skin benefits is ideal. I have used every kind of foundation under the sun - you name it, I've tried it - and sometimes a product will work well for me for a few months and then magically looks like garbage one day, but so far I've been using this product since February and it still looks good. It's definitely the easiest makeup to put on - all i do is squeeze some in my hand and rub it in, no brush needed, so it's a great time saver. It dried fairly quickly so I can put on the rest of my makeup right away, and it doesn't rub off. The only con I have is that it doesn't last more than 4-6 hours (it's easy to re-apply, yes, but then you have to reapply your bronzer/blush/whatever else). I've tried Clinique and Stila BB's and they are good, but I personally don't think they're worth the $20-30 extra. Bottom line, if you need moisture, light-to-medium coverage and minor skin correction, definitely try this out. BB cream is all the rage right now and this one is definitely the best for a te$t run.

  • Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Combination/Oily Skin

I see that pretty much everyone loves this stuff, but I have to say I really think this is one of the worst liquid foundations in the drugstore I have normal-to-(a little)-dry fair-olive-y skin, not sensitive, rarely have blemishes or breakouts. First of all, it was thick and cake-y an didn't blend well. I usually use a laura mercier foundation brush to apply my foundation, and I couldn't brush fast enough before this stuff dried and settled. I resorted to rubbing it in with the palms of my hands so I could get it all on evenly, which worked a little better, but then had to wash my hands with a ton of soap and warm water to get it off my hands! And for how quickly it stettles and dries up, it sure does rub off on everything and lasts maaaybe a few hours....more like coloraway than colorstay. But, clearly I'm in the minority with this opinion, so to each her own. I prefer L'Oreal True Match waaaay over this as far as drugstore brands go.

  • Pantene Pro-V Restore Beautiful Lengths Breakage Defense Shampoo

I have long, thick, coarse, curly and slightly dry hair that I regularly straighten. I usually switch up my conditioners every 3 months or so - as should be done - and usually rotate the same 3 or 4 products, trying new ones every once in awhile, and using both drugstore and high-end brands. I am VERY picky with my conditioners and usually don't give them more than 2 uses to see results. My main goal for conditioner is to hydrate my hair, make it shiny and smooth, de-frizz it as much as possible and NOT have that "build up" weighed-down kind of feeling that you sometimes get with conditioners for coarse thick hair like mine. Being that my hair is now really long, and I've usually had success with Pantene, I picked this product up when I saw it. It achieved everything I wanted - great shine, smooth, no frizz and very clean-feeling; like all pantene products, it smells great, and you really can't beat the price. It is comparable to Sebastian Drench, which I have in my regular rotation, for 1/3 of the price. If you have long, coarse, dry hair like mine I definitely reccomend trying this product out. I achieved all the results in once use and they last for several days, as I only wash my hair 2-3 times per week (it's way too dry to wash any more than that, plus it's a giant pain in the ass to spend over an hour straightening my hair more than that). It also made my hair a little easier to straighten as well, since it smooths it out. Great buy.

    Absolutely Fantastic

I really can't say enough great things about this kit. I bought it through a discount sample sale on a bit of a whim, but I always look for new skin regimes to try because I have a tough time finding products that actually work well for me. I have fair, generally normal skin that is on the dry side (Also to note, I'm in my late 20's). I don't have any skin issues besides the occasional few small pimples and dry patches. However, when I do get a pimple or black/whitehead, I have the terrible habbit of popping them, thus leaving me with brown spots (I can't help it!). So, my main goal of skincare regimes is to even out my skin tone, get ride of my dryness/flakyness and brighten/eliminate my brown spots. This kit provides 2 weeks worth of treatments if used twice a day, but I only used it once a day to stretch the use. as it's not the cheapest (but if you look around online, you can find some great deals). I did the 5 steps diligently the entire time, which really doesn't take more than 10 minutes at night. After 2 treatments, my skin felt significantly softer and smoother. After 1 week, it was even smoother, there was a noticeable difference in my dark spots, my skin tone appeared more even and I started getting that nice "dewey" look. I develope a few small whiteheads during the first week, but I knew this might happen from reading up on this system - it is just your skin purging the crap out of your pores. The whiteheads went away in a day and were hardly noticeable. After using the entire kit - approximately 3 weeks - I can hardly find where my dark spots were, my skin literally glows, my tone is the most even it's ever been (in my adult life :) ), the dryness/patchiness is 90% better, I haven't seen any new zits pop up and it evened brightened up my dark circles. This has made my skin so much better that I haven't needed to use my liquid foundation, just a light swipe of my mineral powder. I have used countless products over the years and have never had results like this. Granted, I don't have any MAJOR skin issues, but I haven't been able to find a product that has taken care of the issues I do have until now. After I finished this kit, I searched high and low to find discounted prices on the full-sized products (A-Bomb moisturizer retails for $70, pads for $58, serum for $82, cleanser for $40, this kit for $85, 1 week supply - 2 weeks if you use once a day - for $50) which I did, and bought everything except for the last step, the double defense moisturizer. I didn't use that step much after a week, simply because I didn't feel I needed it, but since I didn't finish it, it has earned a spot in my purse for dry skin emergencies, which happen to me every so often. I suspect come summertime when I'm outside more often, I will be using it regularly as it contains an SPF (the A-Bomb does not). I am totally hooked, I have gotten some of my friends hooked (with great results so far, too) and if you are on the fence about getting it or are looking for something new, get this. It is absolutely worth it and you will not be sorry...you'll be amazed. Like I mentioned before, look around online because you can definitely find these products on a discount, and if you just want to test it out, look for/google the 1-week (remember, 2 weeks if you use once a day!) "pillow pack" and you can find a bunch of sites that have it for $25 (I ordered from 2 seperate sites with this price for my friends, so it's totally legit). I also ended up buying 2 brand new Mobile kits on ebay for less than $30 too. (also a major bonus for travelling - all of the bottles in both kits are within the TSA guidelines and very easy to travel with as well) I know this is a majorly long-winded review, but I always read reviews before I buy and want to know as much as possible, so I hope this helps someone out there. Definitely check out Somme's website to learn about the ingredients and mechanisms in these products, because it's pretty fascinating. I have now been using this stuff (minus the 2nd moisturizer) for 3 months, my skin has never looked or felt better, and I don't need/use/buy any other products for my face besides these. It is incredible and worth every single penny.

    Origins Eyeshadow

Long-Lasting, Blendanble, Versatile and just plain Pretty

I'm usually a devoted MAC user when it comes to eyeshadow, and while Origins doesn't come close in terms of color pallette offered, the quality is definitely there. It stays on well and stays on long, the sparkle in the non-matte finishes stay vibrant for a long time, it's super blendable (with the right brush of course!) and the colors that are available are great staples to have and very versatile since they blend so well. Plus, it's Origins so you can feel kinda Green for buying it.

    Biosilk Silk Therapy

    Best Product Ever, Hands Down

I have thick, coarse, curcle hair that I straighten regularly and have been using BioSilk since I was about 15 years old. I always have it on hand - even a small bottle in my bag. No other silicone smoother compares to this. It's not greasy, it smells phenomenal, always works to make your hair shiny, fresh, soft andclean-smelling. It gives you a natural shine, unlike products like Frizz Ease (sorry, i know there are fans of this product but I hate it) which gives you a filmy greasy shine. Works very well to defrizz curls, humidity issues and flyaways. As a bonus, it's great to freshen up your skin if you need it!

  • Sebastian Professional DRENCH Conditioner

    Sebastian Professional DRENCH Conditioner

    Great Results for Thick/Coarse Hair

I have thick, coarse naturally curly hair that I regularly straighten, so I am always looking for a conditioner to make my job easier, make my hair shinier and smoother. Granted, I, like most girls, have to switch up conditioners every few months, but I always come back to this one after a cycle or two off of it. It does a phenomenal job of giving me shine and making my hair (as) soft (as it can be). It smells great too, nice, clean and sweet. I wouldn't reccomend it for people with thin/fine hair because it will weigh it down, but it's definitely a great conditioner for girls with thick/coarse hair wanting an actual immediate result for shine and softness.

  • Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Humidity Hairspray

Pros: Not sticky, doesn't have that frozen-hard-hair look, smells good, helps with humidity (i have naturally curly, course hair that i regularly straighten so anti-humidity is important to me), very workable, some shine. Cons: Can get flaky after a few hours, doesn't last all day. It's a good hairspray for things like keeping bangs a certain way, lightly holding barrel waves/curles and controlling flyaways non-obviously. It's a good every day kind of hairspray, comparable to Sebastian's staple

  • Maybelline New York Volum' Express Falsies Flared Washable

I am always trying new mascaras since I am a fan of the dramatic eye and I have long lashed to begin with. My constant and go to mascara has been Dior Show Blackout for years, but being its expensive, I try the cheapies a lot and Maybelline is usually pretty reliable. That said, I like the mascara itself a lot - stays on well, definitely makes my lashes look longer, wider and darker and has some nice drama without going overboard. I just don't understand the "highly researched" brush...it's just a bad wand. It makes for a more clumpy appliation, makes it difficult to create definition and is sloppy. If they changed the want, I'd give it an 8. I use my Lancome Definicils wand to use it because it is small, tight and precise and goes on perfectly with it. So, my advice is to definitely try it, just clean off one of your old mascara wands to get the best effects.

  • L'Oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Makeup
    8.0

L'Oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Makeup

    Great Budget-Friendly Foundation

Although I have pretty normal (sometimes a tad dry), even, fair skin, my skin is very tempermental when it comes to foundation. I have been through almost every kind of drugstore-brand liquid foundation and this one has proven to be one of the bed for me (I usually use Armani foundation, but can't always justify the amount of money :) ) Obviously, it comes in one of the widest varieties of shades out there (in the drugstores). It blends very well, is not cakey or overpowering, makes my skin look even and soft, actually feels nice on my skin, and lasts a good amount of time (again, as far as drugstore brands go). It is far, far better than Revlon's ColorStay, Neutrogena' Healthy Skin, ANY Maybelline foundation and the CoverGIrl/Olay foundation. For even, clean, medium coverage that looks soft and natural, you really can't go wrong with this stuff for uner $15.
