  • Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster

I've been using it for about 4 months now (end of summer through winter) and it makes y skin feel soft and smooth. When I don't wear it, I can tell the difference. I've been using it in conjunction with the Ole Henriksen On the go face wash, and I've received compliments about my skin. My skin tone evened out and acne scars lightened slightly. I didn't notice any dramatic differences, but I do appreciate how other people notice how well my skin looks.

  • Murad Acne Spot Treatment

    Murad Acne Spot Treatment

reduces size of cystic pimples, smells bad

I got a sample tube from Sephora. I was lucky that the employee helping me was a licensed aesthetician (i think) AND was generous with samples. I did a video review on youtube for those who are interested (search StarryEyedStina or the product name itself) First thing: it smells pretty bad with the sulfur. I just added this to my regular skin routine (Ole Henriksen On the Go cleanser, eczema med cream, Olay complete all day moisture lotion during day, clean & clear oily dual action moisturizer at night). I just put a very small dot sized amount on my pimples. I noticed a reduction in size of pimples within 3 days, especially deep cystic acne. For whiteheads, I feel that it reduced the inflammation, but made the white heads easier to pop (yes, I am guilty of the crime of popping pimples). Although it pretty much "flattened out" some big zits, redness still remained and post acne scarring, which I always have. I give it a 7 because of the miraculous reduction in pimple size, but still had redness and scarring that needed to be covered up with make up.

  • Ole Henriksen On the Go Cleanser

Ole Henriksen On the Go Cleanser

    smells nice, NON-DRYING, gentle foaming

I got a sample of this from Sephora because one of the workers recommended I use it (i believe she was a licensed aesthetician). Smells nice because it claims to be infused with Vitamin C. It has a nice gel-like consistency and foams well when washing. I have combo skin; oily with eczema. It is non-drying, as the bottle claims; NO SKIN TIGHTNESS after washing, you can still move your face, even after patting it dry with a towel! Leaves skin feeling fresh and clean. Seems to balance oily production all over face. The selling point for me: I went to a bbq party with a bare face. Some friends from high school who are used to seeing me with a full face of make up complimented my skin! General compliments like "Your skin looks really nice" when I've never received compliments like that. After two weeks of using the sample, I bought the 12fl oz. bottle for $30 (a little smaller than a .5L water bottle) so you get quite a lot of product considering the price. I also sometimes mix it with a very small amount of exfoliator, & it delivers even softer skin! This is a long review because I've had such a great experience with this product!

  • Jane Nearly Foundation Tinted Moisturizer

    Jane Nearly Foundation Tinted Moisturizer

    misleading - darkens over time

I wanted something very light to wear during the summer time, but still have some coverage to even out my skin tone. Jane Nearly Foundation Tinted Moisturizer was inexpensive and claimed to do those things. The consistency was thicker than I liked and I felt the need to apply it with a brush. The coverage was pretty good, but felt a little heavy on the face. But after looking at pictures of myself, I noticed how DARK my face was while wearing it. So, to experiment, I only applied the product in one, thin, straight line down one of my cheeks. It matched perfectly once I put it on, but then I literally stood there for a few minutes and WATCHED IT GET DARKER by about 4 shades. I really had a dark streak down my face from the "moisturizer." Not happy with this product.

  • Maybelline New York Lash Discovery Mini-Brush Washable Mascara

I have tiny, straight, Asian lashes, and have difficulty with mascara not catching all my lashes and smearing everywhere. With the tiny Lash Discovery brush, i can get every hair, have more control, and actually wear the mascara on my lashes, and not on my lids. its great for the lower lashes, as well. It does some thickening and lengthening, leaving you with a natural look, though I'm not sure how well it can build. I was overall happy with this product.
