    The Body Shop Body Butter

Orange You Glad You Tried This?

Yes, I know. I have a wierd sense of humor. But there's nothing funny about this Satsuma body butter because it makes the skin so soft, actually - all The Body Shop body butters do but particularly I believe this one irritates my skin a bit, not a whole lot but I experience some redness when I shave and apply this after as a moisturizer. Perhaps it is the daring scent of tangerines and oranges that bring a vivid picture of citrus fruit whenever I smell this but I feel as if this isn't the right scent for me. After a while, I think about these fruit being wilted and somehow the scent reminds me of just that - wilted citrus fruit. Don't get me wrong, I think citrus fruits are great but I really don't want to be smelling like I've been farming in the orchards or the fields all day plucking them and putting them in a basket as great as that sounds so I can eat them all day, I'd want something more feminine or softer like floral notes or vanilla based or even fruits that don't smell so sour. Still, for those who like citrus scents, I would recommend this because regardless of the scent, at the end of the day when you touch your skin you'll find that it may be worth having around and who knows, the cute guy you see at the gym might even like it?

    The Body Shop Body Butter

Tropical Spa Brought To You By The Body Shop

Growing up, I was raised with the notions that were instilled in me that papaya was a miracle worker for the skin. It is supposed to keep skin tone even, contains vitamins that repair and maintain the skin, as well as being healthy for the body all together. Well, when I opened the jar to get a whiff of the smell, I was taken away by it. It is so light and extremely calming for me to endure the aroma of this papaya body butter. I seem like I may be exaggerating but I've tried quite a few body butters and I love The Body Shop body butters because they're soft, not chunky or hard that I have to dig my nails into but just a thick cream that fully absorbs in the skin and gets welcomed into the layers of my epidermis keeping it soft and supple all day. Goodbye ashiness! This is my all time favorite body butter scent from The Body Shop and it doesn't overpower any scent that I may layer on myself that day, it actually makes strong scents softer and more deliverable. I love how soft to the touch my skin gets with this and after a couple months of use, I've even noticed my skintone is more even than it was with using just a regular moisturizer. Hooray for this! I'd be totally sad if this one particularly became a discontinued product.

    The Body Shop Body Butter

    Ahhh... Yummy! Strawberries.

A candied scent of strawberries, nourishing components, silky formula, and well absorbing; this is the perfect body butter. The main reason why it lacked two stars was the price tag, it seems ridiculously high for a body butter but nonetheless still worth splurging on every now and then because my skin absorbs this well and the strawberry is a scent that's pleasant and light which can also integrate with other scents that I use without disturbing the chemistry of them but being amicable and delivers a wafting scent of pleasant notes all together. This is my favorite to use for a back rub or body rub because the scent is uplifting and it is a very fruity scent which in a way energizes me.

  • MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation

This product is not for oily, sensitive, or problematic skinned. This product contains whether inactive or active ingredients that can aggravate skin conditions. Chemical sunscreen is definitely one of them. At the date of this review being October 2009 - this is the rival of MUFE's HD foundation, however, I don't see it competiting too long in the market for it. I find that the Studio Fix Fluid, Studio Tech, Studio Fix Powder can outperform this in durability, weight on the skin, skin benefits, finish, luster, and overall performance as a foundation. Three hours after initial application, I found this product sitting atop of my skin instead of being embraced onto my facial surface; I wanted to wash this off. I felt like a greasy mess. This product also will need a stippling brush, any other brushes than are denser will cause streaking. Repurchase? No thank you.

    Plush? Or Pass...?

Don't count on having Angelina Jolie's lips anytime soon using this product as the tingling sensation bring forth a deception. It's a plain lipgloss with plumping properties that doesn't exactly deliver the goods. Paying the extra few dollars past a regular lipglass at MAC for this would be ridiculous considering they have the same finish. Skip for the price but the colors just may be the reason you'd want to purchase it.

    Sebastian Microweb Fiber

    Pliable Putty

It's less greasy than pomade but it is definitely stretchy, sticky and somewhat heavy. I had to put extra effort into combing out white residue left from applying the pomade and found it was bit too much for a texturizer. I want something more weightless, more definition but not as much as a gel. However, it is definitely flexible and can be resculpted. The aroma was pleasing and the pump makes this all the more convenient. The pros do outweigh the cons however I still believe I could find a better texturizer over this.

  • L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black Mascara

This mascara may grab the fibers of your lashes but it sure will never dry fast enough to create a nice batting set without little blemishes of mascara. I also found it more time consuming to work with as the bristles are still similar to many mascaras out there and this is just in a wrecking ball shaped form. Impressed? Hardly. When I tried this product out, I felt the packaging had more to offer than the formula itself. By the end of the day, the wrecking ball had dimished the life out of my lashes by not upholding their curl for one, and two - lashes stuck together.

  • L'Oreal Paris Feria Multi-Faceted Shimmering Haircolour

With this brand of hair dye, I always love the results. I never get the brassiness, I get natural looking highlight or when the sun hits my hair, I get shine all over and it still makes my hair look healthy. I like that the color shows up even on my Asian black hair which usually takes a few dyes in othe regular brands to get to the color shade I want but this box makes it so much easier, fast, painless, and I get lovely looks for my hair! This is definitely my favorite dye on the market that I would prefer over paying much more going to the salon getting an all over color.

Olay Body Daily Exfoliating Body Wash

Decent Body Wash, Squeaky Clean Result

Olay's bath products don't please me so much because of their scents. The odors remind me way too much of detergent but this one wasn't as distasteful because it was lighter and I liked how effective this product was cleansing but it did leave me a bit drier than I'd like to be. The exfoliants don't do so much because they are so widely dispersed so you may be better off using a loofah or a bath sponge. Overall, I'm giving this a couple more stars than I would any Olay soaps considering this one gave me the best experience; still wasn't up to par in my book of standards though for bath products.

  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

    Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

Not Exactly a Genie in a Bottle

It does what it is meant to, prime. As a primer "potion," this sets eyeshadow well onto the eyes without creases and smudges through out the day but I found it a little difficult to work with, especially with certain eyeshadows. Urban Decay eyeshadows seem to blend well, however matte shades, I found that it left colors somewhat streaky or more pigmented in certain areas. This leaves eyeshadows vibrant and has staying power. Lancome Color Design eyeshadows seem to be the worst with this formula as they stuck well enough to hardly blend. Yet still, I'm trusting this product when it's nights at the club when there is heavy duty power needed to keep my eye makeup looking fresh. For $16.00, I have to admit is a steal, because it does last through out so many applications. The only issue is the packaging, product gets caught in the sides and it ends up not being used and thrown. My recommendation is to cut the tube, empty it out onto an air tight jar, for easier access and to get the most out of the product.
