Weekend Recap: January Jones Wants to Look Like David Bowie, and More

Before trying this remover, I used Clinique's Take the Day Off makeup remover. I had no problem with this product, besides the fact that I couldn't stop asking myself why I'm spending $18 on a bottle of makeup remover!? So I decided to try this one from Neutrogena becuase its looks and formula resembled the Clinique's despite being less than half its price. In this case, looks did not decieve me. This eye makeup remover from Neutrogena is just as good as Clinque's. It removes most of my makeup with ease, including waterproof eyeliner, and doesn't sting my eyes. However, don't take the part about being oil-free to heart. It does leave my skin greasy as if it had oil, but this isn't a problem for me. From experinces with other makeup removers, I've learned that in order to really remover eye makeup well, a remover must be a bit greasy like this one or the one from Clinique. All in all, I certainly recommend this eye makeup remover to anyone, especially those wasting their money on expensive department store makeup removers. They are not worth it!

I'm sorry to say this, but I'm a little dissapointed with this mascara. Don't get me wrong, this mascara is good, though with all the hype about it in magazines, etc., I thought it would be great. I was expecting to receive crazy volume and thickness with each brush stroke as the mascara claims. Yet my naturally long and thick lashes ended up looking like they always do after mascara, maybe with just a tad more volume. In other words, I didn't really find anything special about this mascara when compared to others. Of course, I love the thick brush and cute orange bottle! And yes, the mascara is good quality. It doesn't smudge, clump too badly, or is difficult to remove. But call it the best mascara out there and constantly rave about it? I don't think so.

Like just about any product, this shampoo and its conditioner is not perfect or keeps all of it's claims. But it's close! I really enjoyed the texture and smell of this product. Despite the shampoo being clear, it was very creamy and didn't tangle my hair like others have complainded. (The conditioner is even more heavenly and rich!) After showering, I blow dried my hair as usual and it did seem a little more smooth. However, here comes the broken promise. Garnier claims this shampoo and its conditioner stop frizz even in humidity. It just so happened to be raining when I used these two products, and by the end of the day, my naturally straight hair was, you guessed it, frizzy. Maybe I'm sounding picky, but I'm just responding to their claims! Overall, I like this shampoo but I know it's not the best.

If you are looking for a beautiful tan from the shelves of the drugstore, you have found the one! This tinted self tanner gives my fair skin a tan that looks amazingly natural. The color is a great golden bronze, not a dreaded orange or yellow! However, don't think it is deeply dark, I have to use it about three times in a row to get my desired shade. Whether because of the tint or the formula, this product is also easy to use. I have only been self tanning for a year now, and I've never really messed up with this lotion. The only problems I have had with this self tanner come to my face. For some reason, this self tanner hardly is able to tan my face. Yet it is able to cause my acne prone skin to breakout occasionally. And yes, this tanner does have an odor, but which one doesn't? All in all, buy this self tanner, apply it at night, use a bronzer on your face, and enjoy the fab color of summer!

I'm on my second bottle of this sunscreen and I have to say it's close to the perfect sunscreen. With acne prone skin, I knew I had to try this product when I read its name and what made it different. Like it promises, it doesn't cause my breakouts and leaves my skin fairly matte. However, unlike what it claims, it does drip off if I sweat but I can handle this. It also causes my senstive skin to sting occasionally, yet once again, this doesn't bother me much since all sunscreens do this to me anyway. I enjoy the light liquid feel of this sunscreen and the fact that it has no smell. Like all products, this sunscreen isn't perfect, but it fulfills everything important to me in a sunscreen.

I first began to use this product when my derm recommended it to me, and I haven't used a different moisturizer since. It helps combat the dryness my skin develops from acne medications while not clogging pores, causing breakouts, or irrating my skin. Just like the cute bottle, the product is clean, simple, and light. It can make your skin look a tad shiney, but I think of it has a healthy, dewy glow. It you think you can't use a moisturizer since you skin prone to clogged pores and acne, buy this product and it will change your mind!
