  • Garnier Fructis Style Brilliantine Shine Glossing Spray

There's nothing wrong with this product really, so I'm giving it a 7. I just didn't love it because I could never seem to get enough in my hair without it looking greasy. It didn't do anything bad to my hair, it just didn't work wonders either. Overall, it's a decent product.

  • It's A 10 Miracle Leave-In Product

This stuff is really, really amazingly good for your hair. I used it when I started growing my hair from a really short cut, and it kept my hair in really good condition so I wouldn't need a cut too frequently. I have maybe collarbone length hair now, and I am about to go get some more of this soon because I'm trying to grow my hair a bit longer still and I know this works wonders. It smells amazing too. My boyfriend brought me a bottle of their miracle oil stuff too, which his mom didn't like and gave to him to give to me, and I love that stuff too. It reminds me of redken 01 glass, but smells way better, left my hair actually soft, and actually does what it's supposed to instead of just making my hair look greasy. It's expensive, but definitely worth it.

  • Gillette Venus Divine Razor
    10.0

    Gillette Venus Divine Razor

    Simply...Divine

I used this razor for a year. That is the longest I think I ever committed to a razor. I threw it out though one day in anger after cutting myself one too many times with my very dulled blade (I definitely wasn't replacing my blades enough at the time), and I regretted it later when I couldn't find it again in stores. I used the Schick Hydro for a long time also, but have recently given up on that since I was constantly needing to replace the heads for it and just don't like the jojoba stuff. (I just wrote a review for it, but that's pretty much the gist of it.) Anyway, I just purchased an Embrace, and I can't decide if it really gives a closer shave or not. Some people swear it does, but for me it seems about the same, but I like the shower pod better because it sticks to my shower and the one I got with the Divine was just designed to sit on like a soap dish or something. The Embrace is really nice, but so is the Divine, and since the Embrace heads are more expensive than the Divine ones, and I can still find the heads for the Divine, and most Venus razors work with whatever Venus heads you buy for them, I will definitely be buying the Divine heads once I finish my Embrace ones...which could take a while, since both the Divine and Embrace heads are made to last. Of all the razors I've tried, the Divine is definitely my favorite.

  • Schick Hydro Silk
    7.0

    Schick Hydro Silk

    Great, but not for me

I love the shave I got from this razor. However, I HAVE to shave every day or almost every day or else I get insane amounts of leg stubble and overall irritation, and as such, I blow through razor cartridges like crazy. This razor was really nice, but I've decided I need to switch because the jojoba/moisturizing stuff comes out way too fast and I can't stop it. Trust me, I've tried tons of stuff to try to take care of the razor head and store it properly, etc. It is kind of gross once that stuff starts coming out because it is very reminiscent of snot. Also, I find the blades get dull/messed up really quickly. Anyway, I am sad I have to give up this razor, but I can use it four or five times tops before the cartridge is shot, so not even a full week per head, and you get four in a pack, which I'd have to buy twice a month for something like 16 dollars. Overall, this razor gives a good shave and I think it would be GREAT for someone with a lot less hair, slower regrowth, less coarseness of hair, and less frequency of use overall. I personally am just going to switch back to another razor whose heads last me considerably longer before the blades get dull and clogged, and all the moisturizing stuff is gone on them. Also, I have never seen any coupons for this at any drugstores in my area (I'll admit I haven't actively looked anywhere else but Walmart, and I've never seen it on sale there), and I also don't remember mine coming with a shower pod, but I believe it came with shaving cream when it first came out, and I liked the smell of that, and used it up but did not repurchase because it made my skin itch a lot. I would recommend this razor to anyone that shaves less often and/or has less coarse hair and just generally does not train through razor cartridges like me. Maybe if I got a ginormous pack at Costco of them, they would be more worthwhile. But I still think the uncontrollable leakage of the jojoba stuff would be annoying.

  • Johnson's Baby Lotion

It had been ages since I used this, and I tried tons of other moisturizers before going back to this, and I don't regret switching back one bit. This makes my skin feel so soft, it smells clean and fresh, it's in a cute pink bottle, and overall it just soothes and heals my dry skin like no other lotion I've tried without leaving a nasty greasy residue. I haven't used this in the winter at all since I was a kid, so I'll have to see how it does then, but it's a great daily moisturizer for me in the summer, and I like applying it right after a shower because it does soak in better that way. I've only tried the classic scent, but I think I will try the purple calming/bed time scent when I run out of my giant container of this that was only like 5 dollars. I think it makes a wonderful daily lotion, and it has already saved me so much money as I probably would have bought like six containers of lotion looking for something half as effective.

  • Flirt! All That Lash Volumizing Mascara

I love Flirt! mascaras! I have a tube that's running out of the It Curl in black, so I went to Kohls (I have a card and had some other discounts, so I paid 27 cents for this and a body wash. SCORE!). I purchased the blue one of All That Lash. It's more of a lengthening mascara than a volumizing one, at least for me, but still gives good volume. The blue really makes my eyes pop, and don't worry, the color looks scary on the wand, but blends in well to lashes as long as they aren't blonde all the way. It would probably show more blue on blonde lashes. I find this one is a little more difficult to get off than my It Curl and the formula seems a slight bit drying in comparison, but both are remarkably easy to remove and have no negative effects on my lashes. Best of all, it never comes off until you want it to! I am horrible at getting eye makeup all over my face if it's a washable formula or glued permanently to my lashes until they break off (every time I've tried a waterproof). Needless to say, I will buy Flirt! mascaras as long as they make them.

  • Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine Conditioner

I was forced to use this a lot as a child because my mom would only buy Pantene, and the shampoo always left my hair dry and straw-like, but the conditioner would coat my hair in this greasy, nasty buildup. This sounds great for the shine, but I never saw any. If anything it was dulling. They should rename this stuff Ice Lame. Also, not a fan of the scent like some people are, it just smells like alcohol to me.

  • Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine Shampoo
    3.0

    Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine Shampoo

    Drying and No Shine

I was forced to use this a lot as a child, because my mom would only buy Pantene. I never liked it because the shampoos would dry my hair to a straw-like texture and the conditioner would build up and make it feel greasy and gross. My main complaint other than the dryness of the shampoo is that it did NOTHING for shine. My mom's friend uses it and says it does nothing for the shine of her hair either, but she uses it because she likes the smell. I don't really think it smells like anything special, just sort of alcoholic.

  • John Frieda Root Awakening Conditioner

This is a nice refreshing, moisturizing conditioner. I don't find that it works very well without its matching shampoo though because it will get overly greasy and the shampoo will strip the hair, and it's a vicious cycle, so I recommend using the corresponding shampoo. My review is specific to the Purify + Nourish version of this for oily scalp and dry hair, because those are what I am currently using.

  • John Frieda Root Awakening Shampoo

This product has really been helping my dry hair and oily scalp (I got the Purify + Nourish for both of those problems). I am shampooing every other day instead of every day, and using the matching conditioner in my daily shower and the heat protecting spray I have. It does a good job, and the tingle is definitely more potent in the shampoo than the conditioner. Overall, I think this product is pretty good for your hair.
