    Great Lipsticks

As with her sheers these are also great. Huge color selection and all beautiful. Comfortable on the lips. Packaging on all lipsticks is great. They are not big and bulk...so they don't take up alot room. The lipstick is not smaller because of this. Some companies just put the lipstick in a huge container, which is so unnecessary.

  • Paula Dorf Lip Color Sheer Tint

These are great lip sheers. They stay well on your lips for being a sheer and never feel sticky or gooey. Very beautiful colors but hard to choose just one. I will purchase again.

    Paula Dorf Cheek Color

The Best Of The Best Of The Best

If I could only have 5 products to my name this would be one them...a cream blush. If I could only have one blush this would be it. I have never in my life used such an incredible blush. Totally and completely awesome. The best of the best of the best. In fact I would have to say it is one of the three best products I have ever used, regardless of what it was for, that I have ever used on my physical body. I did an extensive research on cream blushes just to find out what was out there that may compare to Paula Dorf's just in case it may be discontinued. It took quite some time and my findings were that there is not one product like this anywhere to be found. What's it like? Well I will try my best to let you know, but really, it is something you are going to have to experience for yourself. First off there are enough colors to make anyone happy with. It is a nice size to carry if you are one to carry blush around with you. No big compact with a lot of excess plastic to make it bulkier. It is just enough to contain the product. The packaging also has a clear top so that if you have more than one color it is easy to locate which one you want. Now here comes the first awesome part, the texture. How can I describe this? Well it is a cream blush but not creamy in the aspect of what we think of when we hear 'cream blush'. It is not thick or heavy in any way. Yet it is not a silicone type with that slick feeling. Use this application method: Rub your first three fingers (or brush, I'll get to this in a moment) around the smooth texture and them kind of blot your fingers on the area you wish to cover. Then you blend it with the same 3 fingers held together. You don't rub, you just kind of move your three fingers over the area like a wisp of air, lightly smoothing over. It just magically blends itself. No pressing, rubbing or many short strokes you would normally have to do with a cream blush. The feel is just...lighter than air. You can reapply more if you want and it performs just like the first time. Here is the hard part though...it feels so wonderful you do not want to stop!!! But you have to unless you want to look like a clown. Tomorrow is another day!! Now about applying it with a brush. Paula sells a brush just for this blush. I have it too. It is a great brush...very well designed and works well too. It is angled and moves across your cheekbones or apples of your cheeks beautifully. But.... I mostly do not use it. Why you may ask, if it is such a nice brush? Well for a couple of reasons. One is that if you put the brush on the blush you will end up loosing product. I do not care what they say. Experience will give you the truth. If you choose to use the brush then use it to blend only, once you have applied the product to your face with your fingers. Secondly, well if you use a brush you never get to FEEL the incredible texture and how it whispers across your cheeks. I have used a few colors but am set on Candy Apple now because it is the most economical and is a beautiful color once applied. It is actually their number one selling color. You get a good saturation of color with way less product. True you won't get to keep applying it in order to continue feeling the very addictive texture and application experience. You can wear it over foundation or over just bare skin. It does not mater what you put it on top of. I also use it for an eye shadow. So pretty. Actually I am going to get another one just for that purpose alone. It leaves the most beautiful finish, so very natural. It literally melds with your skin. You can apply a light dusting of a sheer powder blush over it if you want, for an added pop or if you have very oily skin. But do not shy away from this just because it says cream. It is not what you think. You can also add a light dusting of a shimmer if you like that look. Powders are very easy to apply over it. It does not leave your skin feeling sticky, or for that matter even creamy. Your skin just feels like skin. It also wears very well but for the oiliest of skins you may want to top it with a powder. If I had the money I would give every woman in the world this blush. The price is ok too considering how long it lasts, providing you get candy apple. Well after all this talk I think I may go put just a dab on, I won’t get carried away…I promise…just one more time…until tomorrow!!

    the Balm Two-Timer Mascara

    Is It All The Rave

I have read about The Balm mascaras for quite awhile and finally I just could not stand it anymore and had to find it. I had never even heard of this brand and all of a sudden it was everywhere I looked. The raves are tremendous. On their website tyou can buy the original mascara called the cheater and this is the one that has all the raves. the 2 in one is not even listed on their website...strange. So I am talking about the original one called the cheater. On their site it sells for $18.00 but I did not want to spend this much on something that required shipping etc. plus the hassel of a return...if needed. So I found where most people are scoring it. TJ Max. At TJ max you get a great deal. The products come in sets. So you can try about 4 of their products at one time. Not all the sets have the mascara in them though. So I grabbed a set that did for $10.00 and found out that it was a full size tube!! Cool. The packaging reminds me of Benefits. An old fashioned flair to it. The brush is the thick fluffy type. The formula is not wet and thick looking. In fact I was wondering if it had dryed out. I put it on and did get what I call a normal application for myself. Hmmm.. so I went about my business for a while then went back to look at it and decided to go for a second application. Ok now we are talking...The second app made a big difference..And...my lashes were soft. I mean soft....I have maybeline full and soft and my lashes are softer than with alot of other mascaras. But the cheater is even more soft. I really like a mascara that leaves my lashes soft. My concern is how much is in the tube since it did not have that new mascara lushness to it. You know the sound you hear when you pull the wand out of the tube of a new mascara? I could have exchanged it but decided to just use it instead. Well, it is still preforming so I am not sure about that concern. I will have to get another set eventually and compare. The other products that came in the set are quite good also. So all around this was an excellent purchase. Removal was easy also which is another plus. Concerning the 2 in 1 mascara it seems it must be one that has a primer on one end and a mascara on the other end. I am thinking that if they used the same mascara and just added a primer on the other end then is going to be just as good. It appears that the raves are true. The cheater will not cheat you!!

  • Nars Makeup Primer

    Nars Makeup Primer

    Nothing exceptional

Nars primer for the eye area is clear and works ok but I tend to go for Smashbox or Urban decay. Cosmetic lines seem to have certain strong points and then the rest of the products or just ho-hum. It's not bad, just not better or equal to. With so many out there I focus on the best in each.

    Here comes the shimmer again

Nice texture and the stick form is great also. There are lots of colors too choose from. But.....there is just way to much shimmer again. Nars must have some fairies working for them. Hey nars, how about a nice dewy blush without the sparkles....Just one?

  • Nars Illuminator

    Nars Illuminator

    PAT AND PRESS MANTRA

Nars Illuminator is a beautiful and wonderful product. You can achieve so many looks and it will give you many looks from others in return! It produces a soft shine with very faint shimmer if applied in a certain way. This is an excellent continuation for the Nars bronzer review that I did. Once you have applied your bronzer (please check my review for Nars bronzer to achieve the look) I recommended that you apply this lovely fluid to the high points of your face, such as your cheekbones, brow bone and chin. You could also choose to add a touch to the bridge of your nose and above your cupids bow. But all of these places at one time would be overkill. I suggest using(the illuminator color that begins with an O. and is quite famous. For some reason they will not allow me to post the word!!!!) , where as you used Laguna as the bronzer. Apply it with your fingertips using only a tiny, and I stress, tiny amount, then dotting that tiny amount into the shape of the area you are covering. Then press it into your skin. Don’t resort to blending. Blending is not going to give you the full benefit of this illuminator. Pat and press, pat and press, this is your illuminator mantra. Continue doing this to all your high points. This first application should be enough, but if it is not, then repeat the process. But please remember use only a tiny amount and press the liquid into your skin as before. It is much better to build layers then it is to do too much at one time. The look will be far superior. You can also use it alone on moisturized skin. I suggested letting your moisturizer set a bit to absorb. Then dot the llluminizer over your chosen areas and use the pat and press method. Sliding this product around on your face just doesn’t create a nice finish. (The color is not as noticeable as when you apply it over the bronzer). Go over your face in this fashion until you have the desired saturation of color. If you use it over all your face, it may end up being too much. For the all over face method mixing it first with your foundation and then applying it, will produce a more natural luminous look. You will have to experiment to find just the right amount needed to achieve your desired color. Then follow with accenting your high points as stated above. Try out these tips if you already have the illuminator and don’t like it much. I am sure it will change your mind.

    'Just Right' shimmer said Goldilocks

My favorite buy over and over is Fathom. It is very sheer and the shimmer is not as strong as it looks in the compact. I always apply over a primer, especially as it is sheer. This is lovely applied over other shadows as well. If you just love the color alone, keep applying layers till you get it "Just Right" not to light and not to dark.

  • Nars Bronzing Powder
    10.0

    Nars Bronzing Powder

Which is it? Sun or Product

Nars bronzer is one of the best by far, and for many reasons. At first when you notice the price you may have a tendency to move on, but wait, stop right there. Evidently you are in the market for a bronzer since you stopped to look, right? Well have a look…the colors look nice don’t they. So try one on. My personal recommendation would be to try Laguna. Yes, everyone raves about this color because there is a reason for it. First off it is quite natural looking. I have a medium skin tone and the color I get is the color of skin that happens once the sun has given me a soft tan. Now this is just one light application. You can just do your high spots or go all over your face with a blush or powder brush in a light airy fashion. If you are going over your entire face don’t forget to do your eyelid and brow area. Also do from your jaw and bend it out into your neck, other wise you will have a white neck. See…natural right? No orangey weird color or ugly streaks. You should also notice that when you swiped your brush on the product there was no powder flaking off being lost to the wind. The powder is very hard pressed. This is important in any powder product, as you will loose a lot if it is not hard pressed. Also the more fly away it is the more powdery it will be on your face and the less time it will stay there! So now you have a very natural sun tan with no strange color or streaks and have found you actually have more product that it looked like at first glance. Let’s look closer. Notice that there is no unnatural shimmer there. Yes, shimmer can be pretty but if you really want it you can use a product to give you a bit in a few places without having a whole face full of it, which is not attractive. Notice also that the color does not look flat. There is nothing more boring that a flat one-dimensional face. There is more of a very natural soft glow, but this is very subdued, the way it should be. If you want more color start with adding color just to your high points. This may be enough. If it isn’t then lightly, and I stress lightly, repeat your face application including the eye area and neck again. Watch out because what started out with a sheer color is going to build fast. Add a nice sheer lip color while you are standing there and top it with gloss if you like. Now, stand back and admire. What did I tell you, and you were about to walk away! The price of beauty just went way down didn’t it? Not so expensive after all. Plus it is going to last you a long time!
