  • Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Daily Shampoo

I graduated from Paul Mitchell the School, so I had the opportunity of playing with all their products and goodies. I have super fine hair and it was really no body whatsoever. This product did make my hair feel thicker and look a bit fuller, especially when paired with the extra body collection. The downside to this product, at least for me, was that it seemed to make my hair look weighed down at the same time and it also made it look a bit greasy. But overall it is a pretty good product, I have used it many times on other clients and they all fell in love with the line!

  • Urban Decay Lip Junkie Lip Gloss

This is one of my favorite lipglosses. The consistency is not too thick and not too thin. It really does not feel heavy nor does it feel sticky. The colors are very pigmented and the smell is sweet and minty. Once I applied it to my lips they started to tingly and it felt refreshing and not overpowering like some of the other glosses that tingle. My lips also tasted minty, which I would say is a plus since it will give your breath a boost of freshness! I really enjoy this lipgloss and there is a nice variety of colors to choose from. I will definitely buy this product again!

  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

I love UD products, but this one is not entirely my favorite. The product is rather expensive for the size. I bought a full size and a travel size. The travel size is more watery than the full. The bottle is also difficult to work with and the applicator is rather stiff. The full size is easier to apply since all you need is your finger or a small applicator brush! The product itself comes out thick but thins out instantly. After letting it dry for a few seconds I notice that it looks cakey on the eyelids and I wouldn't recommend wearing it solo. The eyeshadows do tend to become more vibrant and noticeably longer lasting with it, like most primers do. However, I found that the ELF primer for $1.00 works just as well, if not better.

  • Urban Decay Naked2 Palette

I bought the Naked 2 palette since most of my clients are brides. I absolutely love the creamy texture of each color and their ability to blend so smoothly. My clients love the natural glow it gives their eyes. One thing that I would say is that this palette is amazing for anyone looking for a more natural vibe, however, with a bit of layering it can be instantly upgraded to a more dramatic sultry look. It is very versatile, one of my all time favorites. It is also very long lasting in addition to a primer of course. The price is a little steep ($50) but it is well worth it.

    MAC Pro Longwear Lipglass

    MAC Pro Longwear Lipglass

I went into the MAC store a week ago and decided to finally buy something. I really needed a lipgloss and did not have time to go elsewhere. I was in search of a nude color and found one that I felt would be nice. The color was Ready of Not! It is a very soft pinkish color with a hint of light tan. I did not apply the color in store since it was pretty crowded and I was running out of time. The cashier was not friendly at all which made me not want to go back there. Anyway, once I bought the lipglass and got into my car I applied it. The first thing I noticed was how thick this product is, not in a good way. I felt like my lips were being weighed down and they tingled. It was almost as if the bits of glitter were being absorbed into my lips and it was just an awkward feeling. The gloss is not overpowering which I like. The color was more golden then I had hoped but it wasn't too bad. The scent is almost like a cappuccino. I then tested out the wear length. I kissed my boyfriend and his lips were covered in the gloss and he hated it (lol)! I still had tons on lips (the thick consistency plays a part here). I drank water and it got on the straw, the gloss on my lips was still holding on strong. I did notice that it started becoming cakey after about 2 hours, which is an instant product turnoff for me. Overall, the product would be nice if it wasn't so thick. I do not think that I will be buying this product again and it was not worth the $20 I spent on it.

  • Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation

Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation

Kat Von D Lock It Foundation

As a professional makeup artist, I work with a lot of brides and models. Almost always my clients would ask me what is the best foundation that is light weight and will last throughout the day in the horrible Florida humidity. I test out products on myself before I go out and buy them for my makeup kit. I was fond of Maybellines Dream foundations for a while but I felt like it would smudge off and disappear after an hour or two, and that was with Primer! So I did research online and stumbled upon Kat Von D's Lock It Foundation. I must say that I was instantly impressed. The product is very thick and creamy and also very pigmented. I use a beauty blender to apply the foundation after I apply the primer. The foundation is said to stay on 24 hours, however, given that everyones skin is different and heat and humidity takes part in the results I can honestly say that it stayed on my face for about 13 hours before I even saw any signs of fading. There is only one problem that I found when using this product, after the foundation is dry it still has a tacky feel to it, but its not unbearable. Another set back is the price which is $34 in Sephora, but using it with a beauty blender to reduce the product usage size its quite worth it. I really love this foundation and will recommend it to my clients.
