Here are all my reviews:
  • Bioelements CremeTherapy

I normally have oily and acne prone skin - which means that I can often get a little over zealous in "picking" any of those unsightly little bumps. What I was left with was areas of my skin that I'd basically damaged and now looked dry and peely as they started to heal. I used this mask on those areas to help bring moisture back to my skin and it worked like a charm!

  • Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Moisture Conditioner with Seasilk

For my sister's wedding I decided to get extensions to turn my shoulder length hair to long sex kitten locks. After I took them out (and a few highlights) my hair was absolutely fried to within an inch of it's life!!! This conditioner did what none other could do: it brought my hair back to life without weighing it down or looking greasy. I wasn't looking for anything anti-aging just something that would provide the most intense moisture and restorative properties possible. It's certainly not cheap - but worth every penny if you've done as much damage as I had!

  • Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

    Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

    Really not that hot

I know that everybody just raves about this most basic cleanser but I'm really not impressed. I've read so many articles about dermatologists that still recommend this cleanser over high-priced ones, but I really feel that unless you have great skin to begin with, this really isn't going to help you. I'm not a big fan of the texture either.

  • MAC Fix+
    10.0

    MAC Fix+

    Beauty essential!

I cannot get enough of this stuff - I will literally buy two bottles at a time! In the summer when I don't want a heavy moisturizer I just douse my face with this before applying makeup. After all my makeup is done (in any season) I always spray my face with Fix + to take down that powdery look and set the makeup. I'll spritz my brushes to sheer out foundation / concealer before applying or spray directly onto my closed eyelid to intensify any shadow. Another awesome tip is to keep it in your refridgerator during summer months - it's like instant heaven to freshen up your skin!

  • MAC Paint

    MAC Paint

    One word: Stillife

This is by far the most popular of all of the MAC paints! Here's why you need this: 1. one sweep of this from lash line to brow bone and your eyeshadow will NOT move or crease all day 2. it's a gorgeous pink champagne color with a bit of shimmer that can be worn alone 3. you can swipe it on uber fast 4. you only need the tiniest bit (if you use a layer that's too thick you'll know because it will look cakey)so it will last you forever! 5. it's easy on the wallet I literally wear this every day, to work, to the gym, to bed (well only when I'm really lazy....)

  • MAC 109 Small Contour Brush

    MAC 109 Small Contour Brush

    Your new foundation brush!

As a former MAC artist I can tell you that if you ask any other MAC makeup artist what one of their favorite brushes is they will name this one. The 109 brush is by far my favorite brush to use for foundation! Either pump the foundation onto the back of your hand (like a palette) or directly onto your face, and use the brush in circular motions to buff it into the skin. Flawless coverage! If you want it to be more sheer, just spray the brush with a product like their fix plus to get a more tinted moisturize type of finish.

  • Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara

Ok - I have been a Lancome Hypnose girl for years now but that all changed when I got a free sample of this mascara at a beauty store. This gives the best volume and length I have seen in a long time - almost that "I'm wearing false lashes" type of look. Also, maybe it's just me, but I feel like there's almost a blue undertone to this black mascara that makes it look even darker than most black colors and really pops the whites of my eyes!

  • Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Spray

First and foremost: dry shampoo is not for the hygenically impared! Several years ago Bumble and Bumble came out with this rather hush hush (at least in the midwest) dry shampoo product that you could only get in very select locations. It basically looked like colored baby powder and people were afraid to ask about it lest they look the dirty kid who didn't wash their hair. What they didn't realize is that peope have been using baby powder for years to absorb extra oils near the scalp to preserve the hair and to add major body to any do (especially up-dos for fine hair). Well the company re-formulated their product and I was less than impressed and went back using my baby powder. I've tried a few since then but this is by far the best! It smells delightful and can save even my greasiest hair day! I can and do use it to add body to my worthless, limp locks - or just to hit the snooze button a few more times and skip the shower. If you want to use their powder version here's the trick I've found works best: pour a small amount in your hands (you can always use more if you need it) and rub them together a bit before applying to your head. I like to flip my head over and get the under-side, then flip over and flip my part to both sides to get either side of my head, then I'll use just a bit more on the front and bangs using a little bit of product for each section. This way you don't get the tell tale white powdery line at your roots if you have dark hair like me. If you've used to much and need to blend it in just take either a boar bristle brush or a fine toothed comb and really go to town blending it into your roots.

  • Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation

I've been a makeup artist for 10+ years now and foundation has been one of my biggest frustrations!!! I have oily, acneic skin with dehydrated (dry and peeling) patches. So I've spent the past decade desperately searching for a foundation that I could wear all day that wouldn't make me look like an oil slick by the end of the day nor emphasize the scaliness around my nose and chin. I found a few that met this criteria, but around mid day I'd find that the foundation seemed to separate around and on my nose and I'd be left with bare patches where it had dissipated and heavily made up patches where it hadn't. Finally I tried this foundation and it just swept me off my feet. I get beautiful coverage and an even more beautiful finish. It's not an uber matte finish - just a really healthy satin type finish. It lasted all day and didn't separate even a little bit! Come night time to touch up I'd simply dust on a little powder and viola - ready to run! It's not cheap, but a little goes a long way and it's so worth it!

  • MAC Pro Longwear LipColour
    1.0

    MAC Pro Longwear LipColour

Staying power - affirmative. Comfort - negative!

As a makeup artist and actor I've come across a million and one occasions where a long lasting lipstick was essential - so you can imagine my excitement when MAC came out with their "Pro Longwear Lip Colour" line. Unfortunately this is one of the times I think MAC fell a little flat. If all you're looking for is staying power and durability - then this product is fine. They have a wide variety of colors and gloss finishes that pop in and out. I like the fact that the gloss can pop out so you can throw that into even the tiniest of clutches for touch ups - and it works towards their recycling program too! What I don't like is how nasty my lips feel when I wear it! You have to be extremely careful when applying because if you don't get the perfect shape before you let it dry, well you're just stuck with it. If you apply too much of the color coat you get a really nice gritty feeling even long after you've applied the top coat. If you eat anything too greasy or oily it will begin to break down the product (but only in certain odd patches so you get some more of that lovely gritty feeling). And when you're finally ready to take this off you better have an intense oil - based makeup remover like their "Cleanse off oil" or Lancome's "Bifacil" and scrub like you mean it or that stuff's not going anywhere! All in all, do yourself a favor and go to your local drug store and just get a cheaper version - just as much staying power for half the price!
