Wonderful Winter Lotion
For some reason I tend to love this lavender lotion the best in the winter time. It smells warm and refreshing and is light without being overly spring or summery. It is really hard to find a fragrance lotion that isn't TOO floral or too light. The musky natural aroma of the lavender is a perfect fit for the colder months when lotion is even more important! The perfect balance of smell coupled with the L'Occtaine quality makes this a great winter pick.

L'Occtaine is best in pure state
L'Occtaine is pretty much GOD when it comes to lotions I think. Theirs aren't all fruity and perfuming like Bath & Body Works-ish stores and they really do what they are intended to do: Moisturize! i think this 100% shea is L'Occtaine at it's best--pure form. This stuff works magic on elbows, hands, and other super dry appendages.

Great scent, very original, long lasting
This has been one of my favorites for quite some time, since back in the day when it was a Saks exclusive. It is deep, sexy with hints of bourbon and a darker floral edge. I love it. It lasts me through an entire work day so if you need something that lasts long and you don't like all that prissy gardenia stuff (I hate those scents!) then this is one to check out. However---totalbeauty you need to get your facts straight. This is NOT made by Saks, it is called "For Her" and it is not exclusive to Saks anymore and hasn't been for over a year. They sell it at Sephora, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, etc.

The perfect color.
I am yet to find a friend, a makeup artist, or read any beauty editor who DOESN'T love this blush. It is pretty much unanimous that for a universally appealing color with just the right touch of rosey sunkiss, this blush is the best bet. I think it is pretty soft for tan months but in the winter I think it just divine.

Best Shampoo I've EVER used
I have a problem with oily hair. It looks great in the morning but by like 7 or 8 p.m. I am in need of another shower before going out because my roots get a little shiny. Enter....Technician. This Shampoo is hands down the best I've ever used .I get my hair colored dark brown, almost black, and this shampoo holds the color and keeps my grease away. I am in love! It really is with the $24 + per bottle. This blows Bumble & Bumble out of the water.

I really wanted to love this Control Stick...but it was exactly what I worst feared: greasy yet flaky (the worst thing possible for any hair product, in my opinion). Aveda is such a great concept but the execution fails miserably on many of their products--such as this one. They have so many great ideas but the end product isn't good. This is supposed to be a lightweight wax control product and instead it is a greasy mess, closer to vaseline than anything you'd ever want to put in your hair. Now that the natural marketplace is expanding and organic is so hot, I hope that competition challenges Aveda to actually start spending time developing products that work for people who want beautiful and radiant hair and would prefer to use natural products.

Balm Rinse is perfect for removal + cleansing
Typically I am skeptical of brands who claim that their cleansers are both true---down to the pore--cleansers and also makeup removers, but this actually rings true with Bobbi's Balm Rinse. It came as a surprise to me how WELL the cleanser went all the way down penetrating my pores and ALSO removing my makeup. This coupled with some of their other products makes for great, light, refreshing cleansing--that works.

Best mascara out there
This mascara wins awards out the ying yang, is used by almost all makeup artists, and is always prominently displayed in Sephora---all for good reason. The brush adds both volume and length without all of the clumpiness of cheaper counterparts and the drama it brings to lashes is just to die for. I'm a loyal convert (from Benefit). I love it! Only downside: it dries out relatively quickly so the $23 a month kind of stings at times.

Great coverage + finish, I'm a fan
I started with MAC foundation out of love for their shadow colors and wanting to just be a one stop shop and not have to go to so many different counters. I began with the Studio Fix in the compact and although I love the powdery finish, I felt as though it looked too much like I was wearing makeup. It would settle in all of my fine lines and my smile lines. Eek! One of the great MAC girls (so helpful in Soho on Spring St) suggested I try Studio Tech with a light loose powder on top to finish--perfection. I don't have "bad" skin but it isn't flawless either. I think studio tech provides an even creamy coverage, evens out my skin tone, and makes me look close to flawless---without looking like I have makeup caked on. I am a huge fan!
