L'Oreal Paris True Match Naturale Mineral Foundation

Not for full coverage but if used correctly it is great!

I initially bought L’Oreal Paris Bare Naturale Mineral Foundation a few years ago. I found that there were some good things, and some bad things about this foundation. I really liked it because the foundation itself was very light. I loved the brush because it allows you to load the right amount of mineral foundation that you need, and with this foundation, a little really does go a long way. I also liked that it was very blend-able. The mineral foundation goes on evenly and pretty easily. I would definitely stress that it is very important to clean the brush on the cap at least once a week, as with any makeup brushes that you use. I also liked that this makeup doesn’t seem to sink into my pores and it is very easy to get your skin clean after using it. This makeup does not adequately cover blemishes or any other skin issues, but again, it is a foundation, not a concealer. If you use the matching concealer, they work very well together. Another issue with this makeup is that your skin has to be smooth and well moisturized before applying it; otherwise it gives the look of older looking, dry skin. Overall, you get what you pay for, and this product is on the higher end of drugstore foundations, so it does work pretty well, IF you prep your skin before using it, because if you don’t, the mineral foundation will accentuate flaws in your skin. So basically, if you are looking for an easy to use, blend-able, and light makeup, this is going to work well for you. This mineral foundation also leaves your skin with a flawless appearance, if you use it correctly and put time into applying this foundation. I would definitely recommend this product.

  • Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo

    Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo

    Definitely worth trying.

I have always loved Dove products. I generally have good experiences and make repeat purchases. I have used this shampoo in the past but I like to try new shampoos as well, so since I keep coming back to this shampoo it is worth reviewing. When I first purchased and used Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Shampoo, I was incredibly happy with the quality for the price I paid. I have very long and thick hair, so lathering my hair completely and thoroughly is difficult without the right shampoo. Usually the lather is either insufficient or feels oily. This was not the case with Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Shampoo. This shampoo lathers up so rich and so easily. The moisturizers in the shampoo are noticeable as soon as you lather and put it on your scalp. I also loved that it rinses clean, and there isn’t a sticky residue feeling after rinsing. It does take longer for me to rinse, but it comes out easily and my hair doesn’t clump together as if the shampoo was leaving something behind in my hair. The scent is appealing, and it lasts until the next day when you wash it again. (I wash every day because my hair gets so dry, and this shampoo helps prevent chronic dry hair.) The shampoo itself is creamy and easy to work with. I would recommend this shampoo to anyone who needs to keep their hair clean, but not dried out. What I love most about this shampoo is that after I use it, along with the conditioner, my hair feels like I spent considerable time blowing it out and hair has more volume and feels so light weight. This shampoo is definitely worth a try. If you have ever used Dove products in the past, you should know you will find the same quality in this shampoo.

  • Garnier Skin Renew Clinical Dark Spot Corrector

I have recently been focusing on my skin tone and I decided it was time to look into a new product to help with dark spots and to give that overall even tone. I have been using Garnier Skin Renew Clinical Dark Spot Corrector for about two months and I absolutely love it. It was only $ 15, which is a little spendy, but it is totally worth it! It seems like you don’t get very much in the tube, but a little bit goes a long way. The scent is great, the consistency is very creamy, and after two months of use, I have noticed a difference in my skin tone. I use it both in the morning and at night. Your skin repairs itself at night, so it is more effective at night, but it also has sun screen and it leaves your skin feeling so silky, so it works well under makeup. The scent is also intoxicating too. I am not sure how to describe it, but its definitely a favorable scent and doesn’t have a chemical smell to it. As for its actual purpose, reducing dark spots, age spots, and acne marks, I have noticed my skin become a little more radiant and even. It takes a long time to see the full results, but as of being two months in, it has been well worth the money and the time. You can check out the website for Garnier, and they show you some people who have used it over 12 weeks. You can notice a difference, at least if its honest, which I think it is. I definitely love this product and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to see a smoother, more even skin tone. It won’t remove every imperfection over night, but give it time and you will love it!

  • Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup

I have been using this makeup for the past month. I usually have trouble with liquid foundations, but this makeup was totally different for me. I was looking for something with an SPF, and this was one of the choices. I bought it thinking it would probably work okay, but after using it the first time I felt that it was a great liquid makeup. It is easy to apply and it gave my skin a flawless, even tone. I feel that some of the other reviews were bad because of preexisting skin conditions. If you take care of your skin and prep and treat it before you use this makeup, you will be happy with your purchase. This makeup does not help in terms of oil or dry skin, but those are things that are treatable before makeup application. This makeup also stays on. You won’t find that half of it has melted off or built up around your nose or eyebrows. It definitely is a long wear makeup even though it isn’t advertised as one. This makeup is also non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog your pores or be the cause of break outs. The only thing that I do not like about this makeup is that it takes a while to wash off completely, but what liquid makeup isn’t difficult to remove completely and thoroughly. As long as you are patient and get it off completely, you will not have an issue with it. I would definitely recommend this makeup to anyone who needs a makeup that is non-comedogenic, has an SPF, and will last through the day. Even though the reviews are lower than what I think they should be, you will be happy with this purchase. I have had many compliments on my skin and how “fresh” it looks, even after it has been on for hours. This product is definitely worth a try!

  • Dove Sensitive Skin Unscented Beauty Bar

I have been recently looking for a new facial cleanser. I have tried all the big names, Neutrogena, Olay, Biore, you name it, I have bought it. I have also followed some of the reviews on Total Beauty, but I haven’t found the right product. I picked up a three pack of the Dove Sensitive Skin Unscented Bars a few days ago just because I thought the lack of fragrance would be good for my skin. (My face tends to be much more sensitive than the rest of my skin.) I have loved this product since the first time I used it. For a bar soap, it lathers very, very well. You can definitely feel the moisturizers in it. I have used Ivory soap in the past, which was okay, but it seemed to strip my skin dry. The Dove Bar was so perfect. It doesn’t have a scent at all, even that scent-less scent. It also maintains its lather, which is great when you need a facial cleaner that you are using for thirty seconds to a minute. The bar is also the perfect size and shape. It seems kind of small, but I spent about four dollars on a three pack, so very inexpensive. Another thing that I have loved about this soap is that it doesn’t dry out when you aren’t using it. I think this just further proves how moisturizing this bar is. I always follow with toner and a moisturizer, but if you skipped the toner and moisturizer, your skin would still have that smooth and elastic feel from using a moisturizer. I would definitely recommend this soap to anyone who has skin that reacts to fragrance or any other junk ingredients. It’s simple and it works, for your body or face. You definitely will not be disappointed in this purchase!!

  • Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum

I hated this product when I first used it and didn’t want to give it another chance. I thought that it left my hair oily and difficult to deal with, but I did love the scent. I tried using less and then I fell in love with this product. I have very long hair, and with long hair, the ends can get tangled very easily. The ends of my hair tend to get dry, which can make it appear to be really damaged. I also struggle with tangles and knots at the end of my hair. I found that Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Antifrizz Serum was perfect for the problems I was having with my long hair. The serum was gentle enough to keep my hair really sleek and smooth. It kept is less prone to tangling and helped condition my hair to get rid of that damaged appearance. The key with using this product is to only use about a half pump, so you want to press lightly on the pump when you use it. If you blend it all over your hands, it is easier to use and to control how much you are actually putting in your hair. I find that it is best to flip your hair upside down and apply it at the ends first and then carefully put some near the roots. Usually I wash the product from my hands and work what little product is actually in my hair all around. I find that it gives my hair that extra something that makes it look 10 times better, and for the price, and how long it lasts, it is totally worth it. Just remember to watch how much that you use because with too much it is too oily, but with just a little you will have sleek, sexy, amazing hair!

  • Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream

I have always struggled when it came to moisturizers. Some would dry my skin out; others would leave it too oily. I have even used some that made me break out! I was never able to find the right product that gave my skin that hydrated feel without being too oily or greasy or completely drying my skin out making it flaky. Even some of the more expensive products I have tried didn’t do what I needed it to. Then a friend suggested Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream, which at first I was skeptical because I thought it was a product for people with chronic dry skin, but it turns out that this is a great moisturizer, for body and face. I use it mostly on my face, but it works great on dry areas like elbows and heels. After a few uses I know that you will fall in love with this product. It works so well and does everything that a moisturizer should. This product doesn’t really look that appealing when it is on a shelf, but don’t let that fool you. It is kinda spendy, but it lasts for a long time if you just use it mainly for a facial moisturizer. I generally have dry skin, and this has worked for me like no other moisturizer that I have tried. I promise that if you try this you will love it, but I will warn, it CAN be too greasy or oily if you use too much. Use this product very sparingly because a little goes a long way! Well worth a second look on the shelf and definitely worth the try. I recommended it to a friend who generally has oily skin and this moisturizer worked very well for her and she is incredibly pleased with how it works too.

  • E.L.F. Essentials Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

    E.L.F. Essentials Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

Not the worst, but not the best.

Not the best eyeliner that I have used but not the worst either. There were a few good things that I liked about it, but I think that the negatives outweighed the positives, even with the cheap price. I needed eyeliner really bad, and I stumbled upon ELF in Target. I was skeptical that their products were so cheap. So I bought mascara, eyeliner, and lip balm. Absolutely LOVED the lip balm. It works really well at keeping my lips smooth, but as far as the eyeliner, I wouldn’t buy it again unless I was broke and really needed eyeliner. The positive things about this eyeliner are that the first few times you use it, it works really well. I also really liked the applicator. It was rather precise and worked well. It is also very inexpensive. But after a few uses, it seemed like if I didn’t shake the pen, it wouldn’t work very well. I also kept it stored upside down so liner would always be in the applicator tip, but that didn’t last long. After a few weeks, it was very difficult to use. I felt like I had to put application after application on just to get a defined and even line. So I guess for a dollar, it wasn’t that big of a loss, and since it works okay the first few weeks, you could go through two of them a month, but then I think you’re better off just putting the money down for a decent eyeliner and being happy with your purchase for longer than a few weeks. It seems like it is a good idea as far as the design, but the eyeliner itself lacks a lot. I wouldn’t recommend this product, but I have used much worse eyeliners in the past.

  • L'Oreal Paris HydraFresh Toner

It took me a while to find a toner product that had both a good reputation and little or no alcohol in it. I know that facial products with alcohol don’t work for me but I finally found L’Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Toner. There was kind of a long list of ingredients, but I figured it was worth a try because at the time I couldn’t find anything else, plus it was L’Oreal and I have generally had good experiences with their products. Anyway, when I first tried the toner, I loved the scent. It wasn’t too overwhelming, but still had a favorable scent. I have been using this toner for about two months now. I have not experienced dry skin or a film that was left behind. As far as my requirements for a toner, I was very pleased. I like toners that have little or no alcohol, and this toner has less than 1%. It also isn’t harsh and is quite refreshing to use. I also look for toners that remove dirt, oil, and makeup effectively. I was definitely satisfied with this toner as far as removing dirt, oil, and makeup. I saw that another reviewer didn’t like the bottle design. When I first started using this product, it felt like I was overloading the cotton balls, but a way to get around this is to only tip the bottle slightly and carefully load the cotton ball. With the pink color, it is pretty easy to tell when you have enough. Overall I think this toner is pretty effective for the price point. It’s very gentle, so don’t let that fool you because it is rather effective. But with any facial product, know what ingredients work and don’t work with your skin. I have sensitive skin and this toner seems to work very well for me, but again, not every product is for every person.

  • L'Oreal Paris HiP Studio Secrets Professional Color Truth Cream Eyeliner

I have had trouble finding eyeliners that fit all the criteria I need in eyeliner. It has to be easy to apply, it has to last for hours, it has to be smooth, true to the claimed color, and it needs to be easy to remove, or at least come off completely and not get buried in my lashes. For me, this eyeliner did all of these things. I loved the little brush that it came with because it doesn’t overload with liner and it helps make precise, dramatic lines. This eyeliner also lasts for hours. It doesn’t smudge very easily but it still blends smoothly into my eyelids. I originally purchased the black. For me it was a bold black and gave me the dramatic look that I had been searching for. I later bought the eggplant color and loved to use it for nights out. The color was very similar to how I thought it would turn out and I got good compliments on the eggplant eyeliner. I bought this eyeliner for about $11.00. I think that it was well worth the money. The first time that I bought it I had issues with the eyeliner drying out, but I found a few ways to overcome this issue. The first thing I started doing was putting the cap on after I loaded my brush and between individual eye applications. This helped somewhat, but it still seemed like the eyeliner would get a little dry, so I began mixing a small area of the eyeliner with the little brush before I applied it. This warmed up the eyeliner and made it much easier to work with. I have recommended this product to a few people and they have also loved it. I generally don’t like pencil eyeliner and some applicators don’t allow for defined lines, but the brush that comes with really helps with both these issues.
