A Great Eye Cream for a Budget-Conscious Product Junkie

I thought this was a fantastic eye cream. Sinks in quickly, isn't overly greasy, and never felt heavy. According to the protocol, it was only used in the evening, and even with once-daily use, I was impressed with it. Especially with the price - professional results for a drugstore price.

    Rich and Moisturizing

I thought this was an excellent anti-aging cream with a very good price point. While I think it would have caused breakouts on my oily skin, I managed to avoid it by using a 2% salicylic acid cleanser twice a day.

L'Oreal Paris Double Extend Beauty Tubes

A solid mascara, just not my favorite

And the main reason is the amount of time it takes to get the formula off your lashes. While I'm familiar with and like many of the "tube" mascaras out there, this one seems to require a lot more effort on my part to take off at night. It does, however, give you nice thick lashes, and it doesn't smudge, flake, or smear at all.

  • Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper

I had the opportunity to try the 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper, and I liked it. The brush is a plastic one that helps build volume, and the black formula is nice and thick without too much clumping. I thought it delivered excellent volume, and it was easy to remove with basic non-waterproof eye makeup remover. I would probably pick it up in the waterproof version, because when I'm dealing with allergies, my mascara has a tendency to get messy.

Max Factor Vivid Impact Lip Color

    Amazing Drug Store Pick

I'm a lover of all lipsticks, but what frustrates me in dealing with the drugstore brands is the lack of pigment. However, Max Factor has changed my opinion about pigmentation in less expensive brands. This amazing lipstick feels like a lip balm, has almost as much shine as a lip gloss, and yet delivers really good pigment. The color needs to be reapplied fairly often - I wouldn't classify it as long wearing, but for this kind of moisture, it's well worth it. You won't be applying it as much as your favorite gloss, and you'll get more bang for your buck. Well worth the $9 price point.

  • Pixi Lip Blush

    Pixi Lip Blush

    My Favorite Lip Stain

What makes Pixi Lip Blush different is the applicator. It's like a felt-tip marker and it goes on easily and without much hassle. My second-favorite is my Revlon's Just Bitten and it has a roller ball which can make application a touch sloppy. The stain is true, and lasts well over six hours, according to my lips. I kept a gloss over the top of it most of the day, and I did not have to reapply during my entire shift at work. Bonus! You know I have to point out a downside, because really, nothing is perfect. The bummer here is that this little baby is going to set you back about $18. Sorry about that. Good news? It lasts forever, you'll love it, and if you're a lip stain fan, you'll be raving over it too.

    Great Colors, Dries Out Fast

I'm giving this high marks just for the colors. I bought it in Pomegranate, and just love it. Such a unique color that works so well with neutrals and dark brown shadows. Using an angle brush, it goes on smoothly and gives great color. I'd give it a straight 10 if it didn't dry out within 8 weeks. There is a whole lot of product that goes to waste, and I couldn't figure out a way to make it useable again.

Not Even Close to Being a Favorite

I actually got this gloss as a gift from a friend who absolutely loved it and wanted to share the goodness. Frankly, I used it once, maybe twice and didn't touch it again. I couldn't stand the dispensing of it (click until you get some gloss, except, oops, now you have a ton), and it just didn't wear all that great. Not very pigmented, and felt really heavy on the lips. Just kind of gooey. There are too many other fabulous glosses out there to waste your money on one you hate, so be sure to try it out first.

  • L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray

I do a great deal of things to my hair. Recently, I've been setting it in velcro rollers while it's still damp and letting it dry. I've also been using hot rollers to get some volume and curl in there. And occasionally, I'll still flat-iron the living daylights out of it. And with every style I've done, this hairspray brings the magic. What is so great and different about it is that you can brush through your hair, make it smooth, and it's still there. Absolutely no "crunch" to your hair at all, and my fellow 80's ladies know EXACTLY what I'm talking about when I mention crunch, yes? Holds all day, and can even hold updos without a problem at all.

  • Lush Rub Rub Rub Shower Gel

Lush Rub Rub Rub Shower Gel

    My Favorite Body Scrub

It smells absolutely divine, slightly citrus-y, a little floral, but not overwhelmingly so. It has sea salt in it, but it's not huge chunks that hurt when you use it. Quite the contrary - you don't even realize that you're using a scrub until you see the effects on your skin afterwards. Don't expect lots of lather, although if you're a Lush fan, you probably don't expect that out of any of their products - and that's a good thing. It's made of natural and/or organic stuff as well as "safe synthetics," if you care about that sort of thing. I personally don't, I just love their products.
