Generally, anything sparkly wins me over instantly, and OPI really outdid themselves with the Designer Series. Every color is rich, sparkly, and the newer ones are holographic even! Now, all they need to do is release a green Designer Series shade and they'll win over every polish fanatic out there.

Sally Hansen Salon Nail Lacquer

Solid drugstore polish selection

For a drugstore polish, this line holds up remarkably well. Most cheaper polishes tend to be less pigmented and chip easily, but these wear well and generally need only 2 coats (depending on the color). The core colors are nothing too exciting, but every once in a while, they'll release an amazing limited edition set, like last winter's Gemstone collection. Keep your eyes peeled and you can find some gorgeous shades.

This stuff is magic!

I've used various primers, including Too Faced and Clinique, and nothing has ever come close to matching Urban Decay Primer Potion's staying power. It'll last you through a sweaty, 12-hour waitressing shift and your eyeshadow will look as good as when you applied it.

China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat

Solid basecoat

This is a decent basecoat for polish endurance, but it doesn't offer any of the benefits that a ridge-filling or hydrating basecoat does. Since my nails tend to be dry and peely, I prefer a hydrating basecoat, but this works well for people who don't need a treatment/basecoat.
