  • Olay Regenerist Microdermabrasion & Peel System

after using this for a month i swear it took 5 years off my face! i have now been using this once a week for 4 or 5 years. i was a little nervous about using it because i have some rosacea around my nose and i have heard that dermabrasion can make it worse. thankfully it didn't seem to have any effect on the rosacea. what it did do was make my skin sooooooo soft, made wrinkles less noticeable, and brightened my whole face. after using this i can't stop touching my face because it feels so soft! it is important to note that with this product less is more- use a small amount of product and scrub for the recommended time only. i tried using a huge glob of the crystals, scrubbing for a long time, and followed that up with a huge glob of the neutralizer. bad idea. it seriously irritated my skin- it stung and stayed red for quite awhile. also, with this product it is extremely important to rinse well. the one time that i didn't rinse as well as normal(i usually use it in the shower and rinse my face in the shower for a long time, this time i just rinsed in the bathroom sink) my face broke out the next day. used correctly this is a miracle in a jar and i absolutely love it!

  • L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Original Mascara

bought this today and tried it as part of my new mascara hunt. i applied 2 coats after curling my lashes. it tends to clump during application, had to use mascara comb to remove 2 clumps. product looks thin on wand but does coat entire lash well and definitely lengthens lashes. looks even better with 2 coats! i've had this on now for 8 hours and it still looks great, no smudges or flakes. this may just be my new mascara :)

    E.L.F. Shielding Hydro-Tint

    luv luv luv it!

i have used this nearly every day for the last year. since reaching my early forties i have had to stop using foundation and powder, which makes me cringe- super oily tzone w/ some rosacea but rest of my face has gotten much drier. foundation and powder for oily or combo skin is great for t zone and VERY bad for drier areas as it accentuates them and also emphasizes tiny wrinkles :( this product feels good-light so it doesn't feel like your face even has product on it, doesn't break me out, doesn't emphasize wrinkles, doesn't make my face shiny. it does dry fast so it's best to put it on small amounts working it all around your face in increments. after it dries it leaves a beautiful dewy glow which i love. i do have to blot the tzone after a few hours, which is pretty normal with a super oily tzone. this is not a good product if you need coverage as it is very lightly tinted. i have tried building it up and it will cover more when layered, but it just doesn't look good when layered. it is a moisturizer, not a foundation. i love it because it's tinted enough to even out my skin a bit and i love the dewy glow it gives me!

  • CoverGirl Professional All-in-One Mascara

bought this today as part of my new mascara hunt. i applied 2 coats of this over curled lashes. it's kind of ho hum. standard mascara that thickens and adds color. i truly prefer lash lengthening mascaras i guess. have had this on for 8 hours and have noticed a few tiny flakes but no smudges(i have this on one eye and loreal telescopic on the other lol. i just really like the length on the telescopic, looks almost like falsies). so i'll give this a good rating, it does what it says it will, it's just not my preferred type of look.

  • Maybelline New York Great Lash Washable Mascara

ok for years i have read in magazines and polls and articles how great this mascara is. and every few years i forget why i hated it and try it yet again. and every time it's still awful. looks beautiful if you put on one coat. flakes off/smudges off within a few hours. if you apply several coats it looks even better. then even more flaking/smuding within a few hours. especially bad for contact lens wearers with the amount of flaking! i am currently searching for a new mascara and i. will. not. fall. for. the. hype. hoping. it's .true. yet .again .with this mascara.

    CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Mascara

used to love it, what happened?

a few years ago when this first came out i tried it and LOVED it. it gave lots of volume, great color, and tremendous staying power. i used it continuously as my go to mascara, and then something changed in the last few months. either i have bought 2 bad batches or they have changed the formula. there is still lots of volume and color for a few hours. and then the flaking begins. and i don't mean little flakes that are barely noticeable. i mean the kind that gets in your eye and when you go the bathroom to get it out of your eye and you look in the mirror you think "omg why didn't someone tell me i have black spots all around my eyes?!". i attributed it to a bad batch, threw that one out, and got another-from a different store i might add. same problem, flakes in my contact lenses and around my eye. threw away second tube and now testing out new mascaras:(

  • Dr. Bronner's Organic Almond Liquid Soap

Dr. Bronner's Organic Almond Liquid Soap

dr. bronners organic almond liquid soap

i have used this in almond, lavendar, and peppermint. the almond is my favorite, lavendar is very pleasant, and i just didn't care for the peppermint. the scent was overpowering and the peppermint made my skin tingle in an uncomfortable way. this soap lathers great and rinses off easily without leaving a residue or much of a smell. i have super sensitive skin so that is always an important factor for me. i have tried washing my hair with this and my experience was terrible! it left my hair coated, greasy looking, and tangled. i found out later that castille soaps should only be used on hair with softened water, which i don't have in my shower. i used this once to wash my face when i was out of my normal face wash and now i have switched to using it on a regular basis in the shower(with a buff puff for sensitive skin of course lol). i still use my regular face wash(cetaphil for normal skin) also as i don't shower everyday due to dry skin. i also use this to make my own soft scrub-mix with baking soda and a splash of vinegar. sometimes i will also add essential oils for scent. i use this for cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. this isn't a heavy duty cleanser! it works great for light cleaning but wouldn't be appropriate for a place that hadn't been cleaned well in a long time. when you're finished scrubbing rinse off the scrub by wiping with a damp cloth. your hands will be nice and soft. i love that i can clean my house without ruining my hands or the environment. i can't remember the exact price, i got my last bottle of 32 oz almond soap at kroger and i beleive it was under $12.

  • Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Creme
    8.0

    Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Creme

    queen helene cocoa butter cream

this cream is fabulous for those areas that need extra moisture! it does well as an all over moisturizer as long as you make sure to use a minimal amount and allow time to let it soak into the skin. it smells faintly like chocolate and coconut. the scent stays on but doesn't seem overpowering. it's best on elbows, knees, feet, and hands. when i tried it as an all over moisturizer my clothes stuck to me uncomfortably(and so did my cat's hair when he rubbed against my leg lol). so i would recommend using it all over only if you allow soak in time before putting on clothing(or petting cats). the great bonuses with this awesome cream are that it's so cheap-$4 for a 15 oz tub at sally beauty, and it lasts forever! i also use the queen helene cocoa butter lotion, but couldn't find a listing for it. it is my current favorite everyday lotion-absorbs well, moisturizes adequately, very light scent that fades quickly so won't interfere with perfume scent. my son uses it without any fear of smelling girly, and he says it's the best lotion ever for sunburns. i keep a bottle by my kitchen sink and on the bathroom counter. also, it's dirt cheap- $1.99 at family dollar for a 16 oz bottle, or $3.99 at sally beauty for a giant 32 oz bottle!!!!!
