    Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner

    Revlon DoesntWork

This is one of the worst eye liners I've ever used. The color doesn't come out true to it's indicator, assuming it comes out at all. The first time I used this, it broke off. I twisted up a little more, it broke. I then twisted up barely enough to crest the top plastic piece and it pushed back down into the pencil. I also have oily skin, and the combo or that plus my morning eye cream made this impossible to stay on for more than an hour.

  • Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation with SPF 15

I bought this based on a recomendation from a store clerk and I regret it! If you have normal- dry skin, this would be perfect because it contains Shea Butter so it moisturizes, but I am super oily. I put the makeup on at 7am before work, and by 8am I was shiney. The makeup also easily rubbed off on my coat collar. I've notived a lot of people saying this isn't messy??? Mine was. If you use the sponge that comes with, it isn't messy (but the sponge also absorbs a lot of makeup). I used a brush and the makeup went EVERYWHERE. I know other people who swear by this though, and they have dry skin, so the shea butter works well for them.

    bareMinerals Skin Rev-er Upper

    Great for all skin types

This is supposed to be a skin primer, but I use it as an oil free moisturizer, acne treatment, face sunburn soother. It's loaded with vitamins and other minerals so it's safe for all skin types. I'll wear this in the winter time when my typically oily skin dries out, and it's just the right amount of moisture I need to balance everything out. I've even noticed less wrinkles since I've been using it (about 2 years)

  • Avon Healthy Remedies Detox Patches

These don't do a thing. I too bought them from Avon AND an infomercial. They claim to draw toxins out of your body, but the only "chemical reaction" happening it the moisture from your feet absorbing into the pad and allowing it to change color. If you rub salt water over a pad, it does the same thing as what you see when you wake up, soooo it's essentially collecting your foot sweat (why the recommend you wear socks over it... to sweat). Save your money and just eat better and exercise.

  • Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap

The thicker gel and lotion based versions of this bathroom/kitchen staple are great to use every day. They won't dry out your hands as I've found the foam pump version does and a little goes a long way. I will say with the lotion based soap, be careful- some formulas have a slight shimmer in them that men don't like (nor did I when I got it on my contacts). They have a ton of different smells that will please anyone and during the semi-annual sales you can find them as cheap as $2!

    Benefit High Brow

    Overpriced, underdelivered

I paid $20 for this pencil that is nothing more than a shimmer stick. I would compare it to a mix between concealer and a Maybelline eye shadow stick. I have found comparable items from numerous drug store brands for half the price.

Noxzema Clean Moisture Makeup Removal Cloths

    Travel and late night friendly

I originally bought these to pack in an overnight bag and ended up using them after late nights when I was too lazy to physically wash my face. They have a clean smell, don't leave a film behind, and got rid of most of my makeup. They weren't strong enough to remove water proof eye makeup, but did just fine on normal eye makeup. The package states it's safe for the eye area and as a contact wearer (with sensitive eyes), I've been ok.

    Hard Candy Eye Shadow Quartet

    You control the color

At first glance, the colors in most of the palettes look bright and in your face. I own the Drama Queen quad, which conists of lilac, beige, lime green, and dark purple- none of which I would normally wear. After a tutorial with a HC rep, I learned how to use each color on a different part of my eye, or use one color dry for a wash or wet (with the liner brush included) and make it more intense. When I bought this FIVE years ago, it was $28, so I'm sure it's more now, BUT that was 5 years ago, and I still have 3/4 of each shadow left (wearing it about 4 times a week).

  • Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation

    Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation

    Not a true mineral foundation

I sell Mary Kay, and I can honestly say this is NOT a true mineral foundation. Yes it has minerals in it, but it also contains talc, which causes powders to look cakey and dry and flake off. The foundation is a few dollars cheaper than Bare Minerals, but you have less shade choices, the brush is TERRIBLE and again, it contains talc. I still use this one occassion if I want a quick "dusting over", but to use more than one dusting makes me look cakey, and isn't the whole point of the mineral makeup craze to be able to build coverage and look natural?

  • CoverGirl LashExact Mascara

    CoverGirl LashExact Mascara

    The BEST I've Found

This mascara by far, is the best I've ever used (and I've tried a lot). The rubber brush separates, evenly coats, and lengthens lashes all for under $7! It doesn't give a fake eyelash look (that I usually desire at night), but for a basic day/work and even going out sometimes mascara, this does the trick. I've tested many other rubber-brush formulas, and they still clump, or the wands are flimsy and bend as soon as you put them in the tube, but not this. I would even dare to compare it to Chanel's mascara, only at a fraction of the cost.
