  • Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Conditioner

(Please see Shampoo review also.) I recently purchased this in the travel size for a vacation I was taking. After I purchased it, I noticed that it had Benzyl Alcohol on it which is a drying alcohol. (Ironically, like the Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in the Shampoo.) Some alcohols work as very good binding agents and some are fatty alcohols; this one is drying. The conditioner had a pleasant coconut smell and was thick, but it didn't seem to transfer to softer hair. It wasn't creamy. I applied more than usual and left it on for a minute to be sure. I combed my hair with my usual detangler and when it dried, it seemed more tangly and drier than usual.

  • Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Shampoo

I have never been too impressed with the Herbal Essences line, but I was going on vacation for a few weeks and didn't want to drag my usual Dove argan oil full sized bottles. I grabbed the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration line in travel sizes and was on my way! Unfortunately, I thought both the shampoo and conditioner to be sub-par. The shampoo was thick and creamy, but that didn't transfer to softer hair. In fact, it made my hair slightly dry and tangly. When I first read the ingredients, I noticed that there was Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. This is the most drying of the SLS sulfates. Typically, Sodium Laureth Sulfate will be in shampoos that are supposed to be more moisturizing for dryer hair. The scent was a mild coconut which was very pleasant but the formula was almost too thick to lather. This shampoo is okay but I wouldn't suggest for dryer hair; maybe oilier hair would be best.

    Dove Go Fresh Cool Essentials

    Great, but not the best!

I'm giving this antiperspirant a strong 8! It provides good enough protection in lower humidity, moisturizes the underarm area and has a soft fragrance that isn't overpowering at all. Where this antiperspirant lacks just a bit is in the amount of protection it offers. At around 15% it is much weaker than other options. This is perfect if you don't sweat excessively or for cooler months and low humidity.

    Aveda Brilliant Conditioner

Not quite as good as the shampoo :(

I was ever so slightly disappointed with this conditioner. The scent is absolutely amazing, but I found it just a little too lightweight for my thick, curly hair. I have to glob it on and leave it for several minutes to be sure it gets the job done! The shampoo is great for all hair types, but I can see the conditioner working best on finer hair.

    Aveda Brilliant Shampoo

    The scent of luxury!

This is definitely not my everyday shampoo; at about $20 - $25 a bottle, I use it when my hair needs an extra boost of shine or is looking a little dull or flat. It does the job and with the most amazing scent. My stylist used it on me and I noticed the difference right away. Some have compared it to a clarifying shampoo but it is more moisturizing than that. I would definitely recommend!

  • Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil

With my dry ends, thick and somewhat coarse and curly hair, I am no stranger to hair serum! I have tried many of them, including "original" Moroccanoil. At around $25 - $30 it was hardly a bargain. In fact, I ended up tossing it in the ol' graveyard of products that just don't hold up to their claims. This Suave product is different! All I needed was 3 pumps for my thick, long hair, and at $2.99 - $3.99 that is a HUGE difference. I actually started getting compliments on day one; my mom couldn't believe how shiny my hair was. It was also super soft and very manageable. I'm a happy girl! This product is a keeper. :)

  • Wet n Wild ColorIcon Bronzer

The packaging may have changed, but I bought the WNW ColorIcon in Ticket to Brazil. It came in a huge, round compact (about twice the size of a normal compact!) and the color had just the slightest bit of shimmer. I took it with me on my trip to Arizona, and it was beautiful! For less than $3 this was truly a steal! The only caveat; it is not long lasting. I applied in the morning and then had to touch up before dinner. I really didn't mind! But I had to take it down to a 9. I would still buy again!

  • Maybelline New York Volum' Express The Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara

Maybelline hands down is my favorite mascara brand; I have such good luck with them and this product was no exception! I found the cat eye idea a bit gimmicky. My lashes were long and clump free, but hardly cat like. If you can get past the name and are looking for clump free length with not a lot of volume, this is a great option!

  • Maybelline New York Define-A-Brow Eyebrow Pencil

I bought this pencil in light brown. The color wasn't really a good match, but that was more my issue than theirs. I just didn't care for this pencil. The packaging is outdated and the comb on the end isn't as useful as a spoolie brush would be. I was drawn to the pencil since it doesn't require sharpening, however, to my surprise it wasn't nearly as smooth an application as a typical automatic pencil would be. The pencil itself was more dry than expected and required a heavy hand to see the pencil color, even when testing it on skin. A definite pass! On to the next one. :)

    E.L.F. Baked Highlighter

    Will do the job!

I really have a slight issue with the ELF baked products; eyeshadows, blushes, highlighters.... They all tend to be a little chalky. I ordered this in Moonlight Pearls. When it arrived, it wasn't quite as "gold" as I expected, but more of a pale champagne. I saw a You Tube video where a reviewer was using this and I had tried other baked products, and since this color was so pretty, I thought I would give it a shot! I don't dislike it by any means; I just think there are some better options out there. Some of their baked products look more like "frost" than any color being added to them. I tend to prefer the ELF shimmer whip as a highlighter, or just use a concealer. I also have used the ELF Baked Eyeshadow in Enchanted, which is more of a true gold than Moonlight Pearls. If you are very fair, you could try Moonlight Pearls, but for those of us that are medium skin, you may want to opt for Blush Gems. This product is certainly worth the price, and will work in a pinch.
