  • Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Scrub

    Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Scrub

    Not great, not horrible

Tried this as an accompaniment to the Fresh Foaming Cleanser, and as a gentler option than the St Ives Apricot Scrub. Wasn't impressed. Didn't really feel exfoliated, although my skin did feel clean. May be good for people with sensitive skin or those who don't like the gritty feel of an exfoliator.

  • St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub

This has got to be the standard bearer for exfoliating scrubs. I've been using it on & off since high school (a few decades), and have always found it to be reliable. Lately, they've come out with many different versions of it beyond the basic & sensitive skin ones; I'm not sure what the point is for all the different ones, but if you want a thorough exfoliator that will definitely let you know its working, this is the scrub for you.

  • Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover

This is the 1 Neutrogena product I was seriously disappointed in. I expected it to be along the lines of the Loreal Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover, and instead got something oily, greasy, ineffective, etc. Total waste of money. I generally love Neutrogena products, and generally trust them to be good just on faith. This was a crushing disappointment.

  • L'Oreal Paris Clean Artiste Eye Make-Up Remover
    7.0

L'Oreal Paris Clean Artiste Eye Make-Up Remover

    Don't confuse with non-Oil-Free version

The regular version of this is wonderful, takes off everything easily, even waterproof mascara. Doesn't leave a film or greasy feel. The other version, in the green bottle, is supposed to be specifically for waterproof mascara, but I've found that the original blue bottled stuff does much better even on waterproof mascara and other "stay-put" makeup. The waterproof mascara version (non-Oil-Free, in green bottle) doesn't remove anything well, not even the mascara it is supposedly made for. And it does much worse than basic witch hazel for other eye makeup, plus leaves a greasy film that will burn your eyes. Be careful which version you get!

  • Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller

Eye creams seem to be very personal things. I know I tried about 15 before finding 1 that did everything I wanted and nothing I didn't. This is that, for me. I think calling it a "cream" is misleading - its not a cream, doesn't feel like a cream, doesn't moisturize like a cream. What it does, really well, is reduce puffy bags under (and on lids too) eyes, and lighten dark circles that go along with the bags. That's it. Its not a great moisturizer, won't get rid of crows feet or other fine lines or early wrinkles around the eyes - if you need that, try something else. but if your biggest eye issue is bags and/or dark circles, this is for you. And it only takes seconds to put on, nothing to rub in. And a roller seems to last forever. Just don't expect it to do things its not really designed to do, and you'll be happy with it. I certainly am.

  • Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep Conditioner

Love this product - have been using it for many years. Truly believe that using it 2x per week completely saved my hair when it was over-processed, split ends for about 1/2 way up the strand, and just wouldn't grow because it was too damaged. Even the smell is wonderful. And you can't beat the price!

  • Basis Cleaner Clean Face Wash

I love this product! I tried it several months ago when I was looking for something new, just to change up my routine, maybe spend a little less than I did on Neutrogena's Fresh Foaming Cleanser (which is also great, btw). And I found ... TA DA! The ultimate cleanser! Love the light fragrance (even my boyfriend commented on it!), rinses away really easily, lathers wonderfully, removes all kinds of makeup, dirt, sweat, oil you name it, this will clean it! All without over-drying my combination skin. And I only need a little drop of it to clean my face - it lasts for a really long time, making it an even better buy than it would seem. Don't know why I never heard of this, or see anything else by Basis, but if they stop making this, I'll be crushed. Absolutely crushed. Even my mother, who has extremely sensitive dry skin (and is in her early 60s so has other issues with her skin), loves this after she used some of mine on vacation. For her it was a little too drying for regular use, but she wanted to know if they made a sensitive/dry skin version, she liked it so much. Can't beat it, as far as I'm concerned.

  • Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser

This product has been my go-to facial cleanser for several years now. It works well, doesn't overdry my combination skin, rinses off easily, and doesn't have a strong (if any) scent. Someone else reviewed it as not being particularly good at thoroughly removing makeup - I would whole-heartedly disagree! The only time I've ever had to go back and wash something again, or use a stronger or specialized product, is with multiple layers of waterproof mascara that's been on all day - and generally if I'm wearing a significant amount of makeup or some that might be harder to remove, I just clean that area a bit more thoroughly the 1st time. Even for just a quick wash, I've never ended up with raccoon-eyes from leftover mascara or any makeup left behind. Overall, this is a good, reliable, straightforward, relatively inexpensive product. And its Neutrogena, which means non-clogging and dermatologist OK'd. How can you go wrong with that?

  • CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Mascara
    10.0

    CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Mascara

An unknown becomes a must have

I picked this up at Costco because it was a really good price - something like 5 for $12 or something insane like that. I had never heard of it, but I know Cover Girl generally makes decent products, so I figured how bad could it be. I got so lucky!! I LOVE this product! It goes on really well, coats my (thin & kinda sparse) lashes well, extends them as much as I want. I can go for several different kinds of looks, and do - I love eye makeup, am constantly buying new things, products, colors. This has become a mainstay for me. It only takes about a minute to fully set, so generally once I'm done putting everything away and straightening up a bit, it's set. It comes off easily with whatever I use to wash my face, with regular eye makeup remover, or even with witch hazel. Over all, a great mascara - one of my MUST HAVES, hopefully they won't change anything for a good long while (except maybe the bright orange tube) :)

  • Covergirl LashBlast Luxe Mascara

This just isn't as good at the original Lash Blast. I bought it thinking oh great, the mascara I like, with sparkly colors! Doesn't quite live up to the expectations. Doesn't apply as well as the original, and the colors don't really show unless you have very very pale lashes or look in just the right light and at the right angle. Waste of money.
