  • Wet n Wild Megalength Mascara

I bought this on a whim, since I never usually use Wet 'n Wild. I go back and forth between lengthening mascara and thickening mascara, depending on my mood. I couldn't find my usual Maybelline one, so I picked this up. Great price so if I didn't like it, it wouldn't bother me too much. But it's pretty good. A thinner formula (as most defining mascaras with the plastic bristles tend to be), but my thin, sparse lashes looked thicker and longer, due to the dark color and the even, smooth coating each lash got. Don't use too much or apply too fast or it will just turn into a wet, clumpy mess on your lashes - the formua is very thin. Two or three long, slow swipes starting from your lash line and up will do it. I loved the separation and the length. I didn't have to comb out my lashes at all. I'm not sure about smudging as I don't usually get much with any mascara I use, but I'm also a priming fool and prime my lids and lashline with powder before applying any eye makeup. But I like this mascara. A cheap alternative to my favorite and works in a pinch.

  • Sally Hansen Extra Strength Creme Hair Remover For Face

I hated it. It didn't fully remove the hair on my upper lip. It smelled horrible and burned after a while (and I have normal skin that's not sensitive). My then-boyfriend kissed me and asked if I'd shaved my upper lip -because the product didn't fully remove my hair! *groan* Too embarrassed to use this again!

  • Mary Kay TimeWise Targeted-Action Line Reducer

I have been using this for about a month or so now. I use it only at night, as it seems a bit thick in consistency and I don't like the feel of a thicker cream on my skin in this summer heat and humidity. I love the idea of the cooling applicator, but it doesn't really blend the product in very well. I apply it and then use my ring finger to pat the product into my skin. I use it around my eyes and between my brows and the small crepe-y lines are drastically diminished and less pronounced. My 40-year-old skin is smooth, hydrated and appears more youthful and firm. I love this stuff. It's not scented and doesn't irritate my rosacea in any way. Highly satisfied with this product! Recommend.

  • Neutrogena Body Oil

    Neutrogena Body Oil

    Wow....really nice.

I've used this on and off for years and it's absolutely lovely. You have to be sure to use it right after shower or bath and smooth it into your skin while it's still wet/damp. The oil melts into your wet skin as it dries and leaves you absolutely silky, soft and touchable. Especially if you exfoliate in the shower/bath! I usually smooth this on, dry my hair while the oil soaks in and then I'm ready to get dressed, no oiliness anywhere. Beautiful, soft almond-like fragrance. Lovely as a massage oil, too!

St. Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Wash

    Excellent, Quality Product

I've used this forever and it always leaves my dry, sometimes itchy skin smooth and a bit moisturized. Smells warm and clean and inviting. Great lather with a pouf or sponge and a little goes a long way. Fantastic price, too. Quality body wash that I end up going back to again and again.

    Biosilk Silk Therapy

    Pure Pleasure!

A date told me about this stuff ~ yup, a guy! ~ and I used it while at his house. This product is simply gorgeous in every way. It smells AMAZING (clean, fresh, appealing) and used in your hair, it makes it soft, silky and smooth. My hair is fairly straight and naturally black in color, but it can get dull or frizz-out in humid weather and this stuff tames it and shines it up beautifully. The only downside is that it doesn't last very long. I love the smell and rub it in on the back of my neck and around my ears, as weird as that sounds. Embarrassingly, I love this stuff so much, I just bought up 4 large bottles at TJ Maxx, which were HALF-OFF. A normal bottle is $40, which is just way too pricey for my budget. But at half the cost, I won't complain. Warning: I accidentally poured a big puddle in my hands and tried to wash it off and it seemed to actually be waterproof......don't know what that's all about, so be sure to use it judiciously. Not too much and you'll have beautiful, great-smelling hair!

L'Oreal Paris Healthy Look Creme Gloss Color

    Ugh....smells like kitty urine!

I just used this tonight and realized what the smell reminded me of. *shudder* Blech! But the smell will go away, so I'm not so concerned about that. I've never dyed my hair, at home or professionally - ever! - but the grays were creeping in and I was fed up with plucking them, so I nervously broke down and bought this stuff. I watched a youtube video on how to dye at home and went to work. I have very long, naturally black hair, that seems to have some warm-ish tones in it. I bought a color called "Double Espresso" Rich Black, Level 1. I wasn't too nervous about color mistakes, since my hair is already black. So far, it's dried to a deep blue-black shade. I kept it in for a total of 10-15 minutes as per the instructions, after applying to my whole head. When rinsing, I saw a BIG chunk of hair in the sink and panicked - not sure if the dye was the cause of it, but I began to rinse it out like a maniac, just to get it out of my hair. I used the conditioner and rinsed for fifteen minutes. The end result SO FAR: My hair is soft, somewhat glossy and my grays are totally covered. *shrug* For my first try at this, I'm okay with it. As for the loss of the hair in the sink, I don't really notice any bald spots, burning or reactions anywhere. I'm more calm now about the experience. Still....it was scary to witness all the hair in the sink and honestly not know if this dye was the cause. My hair is (was?!) in healthy condition. I give this a 6 rating because it did what it claimed, but I feel they could work on a few things to improve the product. That may seem like an understatement to some after reading about my experience, but I'm just not that hair-centric. So yeah, it worked but the product could definitely be improved.

  • Garnier Fructis Style Pure Clean Smoothing Cream

Just tried this stuff yesterday. It's thick, heavy and goopy with a very waxy feel. It just laid on my hair. I used the recommended amount - even though my hair is very long - and it seemed like way too much. This stuff smells like faint chemicals and the consistency is too heavy, waxy and unpleasant. I threw it away. I much rather prefer Garnier's Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Smoothing Milk. This stuff is just yucky!

  • Garnier Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Anti-Humidity Smoothing Milk

Love it! I have very long, wiry hair that is thin and broken off all over....causing the dreaded flyaways in humid weather. This stuff tames it nicely when I blow-dry and is light and smooth - just be sure not to use too much. It smells a bit like apples, fresh and fun, but the scent doesn't linger in my hair. Unfortunately, this doesn't really do much for my hair in humidity - my hair ends up frizzing out within an hour of drying it. But this stuff doesn't flake, dries smooth and clean and is reasonably priced. I need a smoothing product to dry my hair and this is it. It pretty much works for me.

  • Veet Ready-to-Use Wax Strips Face

    Veet Ready-to-Use Wax Strips Face

    Veet High Precision Facial Wax

UGH! I don't go to salons and usually just wax my brows and upper lip myself. My facial hair is super fine and thin and smooth and grows back seemingly almost immediately, so getting it waxed by a pro isn't a cost- effective option. I decided to try this after seeing a recent commercial and wanting a more precise brow line than I was getting with the "free-form" wax I was using, but quickly found out THIS STUFF SUCKS! It's SUPER-STICKY - even after warming in hot water, as recommended, even doing this step twice. It is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to apply a THIN coating as per the directions. It's thick, sticky and unspreadable....I don't know how they could even dare call this stuff "High Precision". I followed the directions to a T, since there were strips to use with it and I've never used them before, and this stuff was an utter and complete FAIL. I was left standing in the bathroom with a sticky mess. The only good thing about this - and it seems odd, to me - is that it's water-washable, so at least I cleaned it off my finger and face with no problems.
