Dove Damage Therapy Frizz Control Taming Cream

Maybe I'm using this wrong, but I'm not a major fan.

Given the rave reviews, I had high hopes for this, but the only way I can get this to "work" on my thick but fine, curly hair is to mix it with a gel, in which case it works well to eliminate gel crispiness. It's not horrible, it just didn't do much for me.

    L'Oreal Paris EverPure Moisture Shampoo

Does seem to protect the color, but the scent? Meh.

I've got mixed feelings about this 'poo. While it's nicely moisturizing while still having excellent foaming action & it doesn't seem to strip the color, the scent is too flowery/perfumey, & it doesn't go away.

  • CoverGirl & Olay Simply Ageless Foundation

I was disappointed with this foundation; my skin tends to be dry & this REALLY emphasized that. It also seemed to make my pores look bigger & my skin look generally less refined. I'm not a fan. I gave it a couple of points for packaging (I wish this did work for me - it'd be perfect for travel) & for the lightest shade being a great match for my uber-pale skin.

  • T3 Bespoke Diffuser II

    T3 Bespoke Diffuser II

Works fine, but a deeper bowl would be nice

I got this to use with my pink travel T3 (kinda irked that my usual $5 diffuser - which I love as it has superior cupping action - wouldn't fit on my T3, but I knew that when I bought the T3, so I shouldn't complain)(& yet, I do) & it does indeed do what it's supposed to do. As it doesn't have that nice deep bowl for cupping your hair the fingers protrude out of the top, which takes some getting used to (I kept poking my scalp at first) but as it gives me well-formed, shiny curls & lots of them, & as the fix to the problem was simple (um...how 'bout I don't whack my head with my blowdryer?). It definitely does cut down on frizz as well, which is the goal here, so yay T3. Like other reviewers, though, I've got cheaper diffusers that do work just as well, just not on the T3 dryer, so I took off a couple of stars for value & for the T3 people making me their b**tch by making excellent dryers that are unable to accommodate other diffusers.

    T3 Bespoke Overnight

Excellent for waves (& curls, with the diffuser)

I originally got this for travel (&, truthfully, because I found it for less than half price at TJ Maxx & it seemed wrong to not get it because I'm kind of a blowdryer wh**re) but it's become my everyday dryer. I'm have curly hair that I prefer to wear curly, so I mainly use it with the diffuser I picked up at Sephora (it kinda bummed me out that I HAD to use their diffuser, which is okay, but nothing special, so I took off a star for that). When I use the diffuser, I get nice, shiny, well-formed curls with reduced or no frizz (depending on the products I use in my hair - either way, this does reduce frizz significantly). If I feel like going wavy, I use it without the diffuser & use my hands to sort of rake through my hair & end up with smooth, shiny waves that look tousled in a deliberate, polished way (as opposed to just looking like a frizzy mess). Either way, this badboy works like a charm & dries my hair fast, even on the low setting, which is the only setting I use. I'm sure it's great for straightening, but I don't straighten, as I haven't got the motor skills to hold a brush while blowdrying. I may actually spring for a full-sized version at some point, as I do miss having a medium setting & a cool shot button. (well, & because I'm a blowdryer wh**re) As far as durability goes, I've been using it daily for a month now with no problem. (I've probably curseed myself & now it'll break)

    M.A.C. Lipstick

Nobody makes a better lipstick, period.

Even coverage, gorgeous shades, great scent, nicely moisturizing; what more can a woman ask for in a lipstick?

  • Dove Pro Age Eye Treatment, SPF 8

I switched to this when I ran out of Nivea & couldn't find it, & I gotta say, I didn't like it. While it did provide some moisture, my crow's feet came back out of hiding, which was not the desired result. It does have some minor brightening properties, but not enough to make me stop using concealer. (although my circles are pretty gnarly, so I don't see that ever happening anyway!)

  • Nivea Q10 Advanced Wrinkle Reducer Eye Creme
    9.0

Nivea Q10 Advanced Wrinkle Reducer Eye Creme

My main weapon in the war against crow's feet

I didn't realize how great this stuff was until I ran out of it & couldn't find it for several months (I finally happened upon it at Heathrow Airport & stocked up - are they no longer selling this in the US?). It does a great job of smoothing out my encroaching (not major, but enough to bug me) crow's feet, & when I had to stop using it, I noticed a major difference right away. While it's not as perfect as the $90 eye cream I tried out, for the price, this absolutely does it for me.

  • Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Concealer

Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Concealer

Best undereye concealer at any price!

I've got deep-set eyes & some pretty gnarly undereye shadows going on, & this is the only concealer I've found that covers them enough to make me not look like Uncle Fester (I'd have to use spackle to get rid of them completely) & make me look healthy & awake without looking like I'm wearing concealer. Age Rewind is to covering undereye circles what Shu's Mark Cealer used to be to covering zits. A miracle!

  • T. LeClerc Loose Powder
    10.0

    T. LeClerc Loose Powder

    There's a reason this is a classic.

Of all of the great loose powders out there, this is definitely among the best. The yellow tint (& it is YELLOW) doesn't show up on my (exceedingly pale) skin as yellow, but does even out my skin tone nicely. It's also very finely milled so that it doesn't look powdery, nor does it settle into fine lines. Everyone should own this!
