On Top of It All
Although it is not my everyday mascara (see my rave review of Benefit's BADgal Lash), I do use Napoleon Perdis Long Black Mascara when I dress up. It lifts, separates, and elongates. Thus, it's way too much on its own. However, one or two light coats over another mascara give a fantastic "pop" and the appearance of fake lashes. If you're going for the 60s fringe look, this is the way to get it.

I never leave the house without BADgal Lash!
As someone with very blonde eyelashes and eyebrows (and I mean almost transparent), mascara and eyebrow pencils are a BIG deal to me. I feel like an alien without my "eyes on." In fact, the only people--outside of my closest loved ones--who have seen me sans eye make-up are the employees of the Mystik Tan joint, where I'd have to wipe the stuff off anyway. But, I digress. BADgal is my number one choice for mascara, bar none. Even at $19 a pop, any time I've tried to switch, I've regretted it. It coats my blonde lashes evenly and thoroughly. One swipe does it for a run to the post ofice, but it's easy to add a few more coats for some evening drama. I do have a cavaeat. I have two girlfriends who've hated BADgal. Like other reviewers here, they claimed it gave them racoon eyes. Perhaps it's the shape of their lashes or the size of their eyes. Who knows? I never do my bottom lashes (since they're virtually nonexistant), so perhaps that's the dfference. In any event, I'm convinced they must be doing something wrong...because this stuff rocks. (By the way, Benefit, if you ever discontinue this product, I will hunt you down and pluck all of your eyelashes off!)
