  • Mederma Skin Care for Scars Advanced Scar Gel

Saw only slight improvement for a 6 month old burn scar from a curling iron (clumsy!). The amount of improvement isn't really worth the money. The reality is that very few drug store brands are actually effective on scars. You'd have to get a dermatologist to get you a prescription strength scar fading cream to get real results!

  • Clean & Clear Essentials Deep Cleaning Astringent

The alcohol content is pretty high in this toner, so it'll dry the life out of your skin! I used to use this LIBERALLY as a teenager on my formerly oily skin (I obviously didn't know any better, since drying out your skin only makes it produce more oil faster!!!!). It works fast to get rid of pimples and sops up oil temporarily, but the long term pay-off is flaky, dry and tight skin. No adult should be using this! And I'd be hesitant to recommend this to teenagers too. Clean & Clear has a version for sensitive skin with less alcohol, so that may be a better alternative. The smell is a little weird too, slightly medicinal. May be an issue for daytime use.

  • Jergens Natural Glow Healthy Complexion Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 20

Perfect face lotion to buy if you use the Jergens self-tanner for the body. Basically does the same, except just a gentler formula for the face, especially if you have sensitive skin. Very natural, non-orange color. Took about 3 days for me, with exfoliation before applying. The smell is strong, as with all self-tanners, but I either put it on at night or diluted it a bit with my regular daytime moisturizer (and it still worked that way!) Very similar to the results of Clinique Self-Sun. Love it.

  • Clinique Anti-Gravity Firming Eye Lift Cream
    7.0

Clinique Anti-Gravity Firming Eye Lift Cream

A bit too heavy for younger skin

I got a little over zealous at the Clinique counter and got this eye cream for "preventative measures". The lady working there advised against it for my 20-something skin, but I insisted on buying it. I realize now that she was right and that I should have saved my $35 and bought dinner with it instead! I admit that I get a little obsessive with my skin, and this was definitely not one of my best purchases. Not age appropriate for me. It's a little heavy for younger skin, although I could really see it working wonders for someone with more mature skin. Doesn't really address dark under eye circles that someone in their 20s may experience (stick with All About the Eyes!).

  • MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder

This translucent powder is great for setting makeup. Doesn't leave a white ghost like cast on the face and controls oil fairly well, although for the summer when I am extra oily I still do prefer MAC's blot powder. I love this stuff though for the rest of the year. When I use this, I don't have to reapply during the day just maybe a mid-day blot with a sheet. Love!

  • Duo Eyelash Adhesive

It's a cult favorite for a reason. This glue is the best and the only glue I will use for my eyelashes. When properly applied, your falsies will absolutely not budge. I have ventured out and tried other lash glues and all of them pale in comparison to this one. Gentle on your skin and dries clear. I'm definitely a fan!

  • Ardell Fashion Lashes No. 110

I love Ardell lashes! High quality for the price and can be used several times as long as you treat em right. They look natural and are a breeze to apply. Definitely recommended for Asian almond shaped eyes. Love em!!!!

  • MAC Prep + Prime Skin

This primer is an okay substitute when you don't want to shell out $40 for a Smashbox primer. It makes your makeup glide on easier, but in terms of reapplying during the day and controlling oil, Smashbox is a bit better. I don't however like that it leaves a whitish cast on my face. Also, the bits of micro-glitter in this primer is gross. I suppose it's supposed to make your skin look glowy, but all it manages to do is get accentuate dry skin and get caught in that nook on the corners of my noise. Pass!

  • MAC Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation

I love this foundation over the heavier and thicker MAC Studio Fix, which always felt like I was wearing a mask on my face. This foundation is lighter and has a much more natural look and finish to it. I love that the shades are all neutral tones. I wear it in a shade 3 for my NC30-35 skin. Like another reviewers, you do need to make sure you are well moisturized before applying because it does accentuate any bits of dry skin on your face. Applied with a stippling brush, this foundation goes on like a dream. I'm definitely a fan!

  • Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliator

I wasn't crazy about this Clinique scrub at first, I thought the exfoliating particles were actually TOO fine and gentle to possible be doing a thorough job. But it really does work to exfoliate your skin and leave it soft and glowy. It has a light menthol-like scent and your skin is cool and tingly for a few minutes afterwards. Definitely gentle enough to use everyday if you wanted to. It's a bit expensive and I exfoliate frequently, so I have not repurchased this. That's my only con.
