  • Conair Jumbo Rollers Instant Heat Travel Hairsetter

First off I have to say I had very high expectations for this product because I heard a lot off good things about it; I think it was very hyped up among people of my age groups. My good friend recommended this for me because I was looking for Jumbo rollers that I could use on the go, unfortunately this product was just pitiful. The rollers are great if you want to just do your bang or something, but I felt like I did not have enough for my hair; my hair has many layers but it is not too thick which was good because it would curl quite quick. I like how this product is faster than a curling wand. It would take about 10-15 minutes for rod to heat up but this product took only about 5-10 minutes which was great because it saved a lot of time. I did not really like how the rollers made my hair feel very dry after even after I used heat protectants. I would not recommend this product to anyone, it was okay, there was absolutely nothing impressive about it.

  • Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree Liquid Soap

I love this! One of the best things I can get from my local drug store, It is such a great body wash, but it does tend to be on the pricer side. I think one bottle of it is about $15 or so? I don't know if that goes for every store, but I know this product is amazing and I am always willing to go for another replacement bottle. Not only does my skin feel extremely refreshed and rejuvenated after a use of this product, the smell is good. I am a big fan of tea tree, and I have read all these amazing things about how great and helpful tea tree is to your body, hair, and skin! I just felt like this was such a gem in the drug store type of find. I did wish though that this came in a nicer packaging but that is not a big deal The only thing I did not like too much about this product other than the price, is that it kind of smells like laundry detergent after a while which kind of worries me. I think I accidently forgot to finsh a bottle of this and left it in a cabinet and after about 7 months i rediscovered it but the scent had changed. I know the soap claims to be organic so maybe there was some chemical changed within that seven month time frame? Soap is not supposed to turn bad right? As in is there an expiration time frame or something? I hope not. The change in smell just lead me to the thought that there were a bunch of chemicals in the soap. I do not really mind since i find it amazing, but sometimes when i think about it I do get a bit worried. I still think this is a drugstore gem though.

  • Hard Candy Hide & Glow Cheek

I got a basket from a friend telling me to try out these amazing new products she found at walmart, this was about 2-3 years ago and I had this hard candy hide and glow in the hot date version. I remember how my friend kept telling me this was an amazing cream blush but I found it really really bad. There was close to no color pay off and when something did show up on my face it would only stay for an hour or so before it faded. Also the product itself was hard to use because it was a cream cheek sort of thing and I did not want to rub it directly onto my face because it was not sanitary to mix my face oils into the product. But on the other hand if I did not apply this product directly to my face, like as in if I had tried to use a brush or something the color would not show up which made me very annoyed. I felt like this product was really dirty because I would have to rub it directly onto my check if I wanted to use it, also it felt really greasy. I did try to use this as a base for my blush and it did work ok. My blush stayed a bit longer. I did not find anything to be amazing from this product. The colors would look great in the tube but when i put it on my face it would have a hard time showing up. Also within the first week of using this stick i remember one side of blush fell out and broke so technically I only had one color to use. I would not go out to purchase this item, and I would not voluntarily use this product, and I feel like this is not a good base. A better alternative to this product would be the NYC stick blush, it is cheaper and better quality.

  • Maybelline New York Mineral Power Bronzer

No. This product is just NO. Okay first off I was very interested in finding myself a light bronzer because I did not want to look too dark nor did I want to look orange, I thought this product would be able to do it for me, but boy was I wrong. this product not only did not add color to my face in the right areas, it was messy and left my skin with an shiny metal brassy of glow or something that made me look sort of like a pole or a silver fish? Does that even make sense? I don't know how to explain this product but it was just a terrible bronzer, it did not look like a bronzer and it left me really metalicy. The container was quite possibly the worse packaging imaginable too!!! I remember how the box would fly open and the product would get every where, I had a fault box, that leaked powder all over my car so I had a terrible time cleaning up that mess! I also know that whenever I tried to use this bronzer in the morning I would make a mess all over my vanity and it would take quite a while to clean up the mess. The only think I found semi redeeming for this product was the brush, it was a decent brush, but the product was just so terrible. It didn't do my skin justice, and it was just a pain every morning to take out the box and hope I would not make a mess. I also think this product is discontinued since I have not seen it at my local walmart, target, CVS etc? I sure hope it is, or they changed up the packaging and formula because this bronzer needs help!!! Close to terrible.

  • E.L.F. All Over Color Stick
    9.0

    E.L.F. All Over Color Stick

    Great as a highlighter!

I know this cover stick is supposed to be a blush and lip sort of thing but I thought it worked best when I used it as a high lighter for my skin. I like how this product is very shiny and has a type of glow to it so it makes a really fantastic high lighter! I can use it everyday for a subtle glow, it does not over power my face and is not extremely noticeable, but it is there. I found that many elf products are a bit shiny so they work well as high lighter, and they are sheer so they tend to look more natural on my face and I do not need to worry as much about having too much pigmentation on my skin even with a heavy hand. I did find this all over stick to be a bit on the unsmooth side, it did look a little chunky, but it was not a big deal, I could blend it easily with my finger. the staying power was really good, I was able to have it on my face all day and last. There is also a smell to this product, I know a lot of people prefer not to have their make up smell sweet like chemicals and such but I did not mind this smell, it was not over powering and it did not smell like anything once I applied it to my face. It can also make a decent lip tint sort of thing. It looks good on the lips if you are into metallic looking lips! the price is also really really good like most elf products. I think I bought this at target for about $3!! I would recommend this product and hope that others do try it since it is pretty good.

  • Rephase D-White

    Rephase D-White

    Uneven skin

I got this as a gift from a friend over the holidays and I was really excited to try this since I have seen so many positive things about this product, but I had no clue where to find this. When i opened the box, I found the cream in a nice packaging, it looked like a sturdy product with quite expensive packaging which made me feel happy. The cream itself does have a scent, it's not strong but it does smell a bit like chemicals which did worry me a little, since I do tend to have annoyingly sensitive skin compared to normal people. My friend who gifted me this product told me it was a real winner and that he has gone through 2 boxes of this cream so I did have high expectations for this product. My skin is already quite light but due to excess exposure to the sunlight it has been getting darker. I tried this cream and it did make my skin really soft but I am not sure if I am actually getting lighter from this cream. My skin tone does seem a bit more light, but I feel like it looks a bit uneven. I don't know if it is the cream's doing but I have stopped using the product. my skin is a bit more normal toned, I don't know it looks more even and I have started to use the product again. This time around it has not caused my skin tone to be uneven and it does lighten my skin. I do not know if I want to continue because I do fear my skin could turn a bit patchy again. I don't know how else to describe this cream, but I don't think this problem is normal because I don't see any one complaining about this problem but myself. Overall decent cream, it does leave your skin very soft, but I just have a bias towards this cream.

  • Maybelline New York ExpertWear Eye Shadow 8 Pan

I was extremely excited when i found this in my local drug store (CVS) and I knew I had to get it. I had read so many reviews online about this particular maybeline product and was excited to test it out for myself. This is know as one of the best drug store pallets to travel with so I took it with me on my trip to Maui. Boy, this was a good product, I was able to use this pallet everyday for my eye shadow and not get tired of it since there were 8 shadows, I could make so many different combinations for day and night wear. I found the color pay off to be good, but I found out that instead of using a brush, these colors can be a bit chalky, using a clean finger to pat on these shadows make less of a mess. This was even more convenient because I didn't have to take an eye shadow brush with me and it saved me a lot of time!!! I could also fit this pallet into my makeup case which was great because I was able to apply it through out my day of sweating and such. I do find the lighter shades to be good high lighters for the face rather than colors on my eyelid so I felt like I didn't have to bring a bronzer or high lighter, which was awesome again. I think this is also a good sample pallet to find out which netural color is your favorite!! Some colors are a bit harder to use, such as the green, well for me I felt like the green was very dark so I applied it close to my lash line so it would look sort of like a liner. I don't care for the little sponge applicators neither, but this is a great, cheap, intro to make up pallet, that is also really convenient for traveling. This pallet is over all good, and I would repurchase a second one after I finish my current pallet!

  • N.Y.C. New York Color Liquid Lip Shine Lipgloss

Ok, I am actually really surprised that this product is viewed as such a terrible product. I am going to be completely honest. I do like this gloss!!! I find the packaging to be very cute and easy to use, and I think the product inside is very reasonably priced, quite cheap for a pretty good product. This lip gloss does go into my everyday makeup bag!!! I was able to find this gloss through a friend who told me to try out the NYC mascara, yes mascara some how led me to gloss. Anyhow, since I liked the mascara so much I decided to be adventurous and try out different products from this line, I tried a lipstick, foundation, bronzer (which is amazing), an this gloss. I found them all to be good products, and the prices were just unbeatable. The color pay off from this gloss is not overpowering, it is actually quite sheer, and the product is quite thick which allows it to stay a while on my lips. I did not find this gloss extremely sticky, well i expected it to be a little sticky, and it looked very glossy on my lips. I think for a cheap lip gloss this is a definite go to type of product, this is great for people who are just starting with their make up collection, such as high schoolers, college students, etc. The color range isn't huge, there are a few shades but they all kind of work the same, they look kind of sheer on my lips, or maybe I am just applying a small amount. It does not do bad things to my lips, like my lips feel soft and not dried out. I actually like the packaging because it is thin and long, but I don't like how the applicator does not pick up too much product so you actually have to dip into your tube a few times before you can coat all of your lips, and i have pretty small lips. If you are looking for a cheap gloss, this is a go to.

  • Sephora Glitter Lashes

I wore these to a glitter party over the holidays, I honestly did not like them. I felt like the lash was a decent quality, but the band was really thick, it was hard to blink without the lashes falling off, I looked like a fool and would not repurchase this. I think they were fairly cheap, I got them for about $3 so I should not have of expected that much.

  • Urban Decay Rollergirl Palette
    10.0

    Urban Decay Rollergirl Palette

    Good for day and night

Urban Decay (UD) products almost never do me wrong! I love love love this product. I think I got this product on one of the sales, and it was about $13 which is amazing since the set does come with an eyeliner along with 4 shades. At first I did have to debate whether or not I should get this product because of the super bright neon looking pink, woodstock. I just kept thinking I would never be able to use that color , which made me wonder if I truly wanted the pallet, since I am one of those people who are extremely concerned about using every product in a make up pallet. There is also a gloss with this product that is very pigmented, it's a hot pink which goes well with the majority of the neutral colors in the pallet. Anyhow, the pink was hard for me to use, but I found a use for it as a bright color to wear under my eye for a night out with friends, it looks really edgy and I am really into the whole bright colors under the eye look. I can't use the woodstock color as much as I want to because I still have not quite figured out how to incorporate it on my eyelid without looking like a clown or looking trashy. It's a challenge. Anyhow like all urban decay products, these shadows are creamy, long lasting, pigmented, and just over all awesome. The eyeliner is bourbon I think, extremely easy to use and the pink lip gloss is fun, it can be used during the day with light make up, or it can be used a night for a night out. I do not think this pallet exists anymore, but it was a great find.
