  • Gillette Venus Embrace Razor

I've been using the Gillette Venus razor for a few years now and love it! And so, I welcomed the opportunity to try the new Gillette Venus Embrace razor. The razor has 5 blades, a moisture ribbon and is very easy to grip - this combination makes for a smooth glide and no worries of cuts. It didn't let me down- and yes, I do believe it gave me the closest shave I've had yet. The razor comes with two refill cartridges and a ShowerPod (pictured above) which allows you to store both the razor and cartridges inside of your shower. The results I experienced, the convenience, and the price all make this a winner. I highly recommend it!

  • Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree Liquid Soap

I was introduced to this years ago but only recently started using it on a consistent basis. I love that the ingredients are organic, it has a slight lather, mild fragrance and washes clean without leaving any sort of film. In the mornings I use the Peppermint or Eucalyptus for an energizing pick-me-up. Oh, and I forgot that you can use it to clean just about everything- LOL! I highly recommend it!

  • Yves Saint Laurent Beauty Parisienne Eau de Parfum Spray

I welcomed the opportunity to try Yves Saint Laurent Beauty's newest fragrance, Parisienne, and I will tell you that I was not disappointed. It's described as "a grand floral with a woody structure, luminous even in its mystery". The fragrance's top notes are Blackberry, Damask Rose and Sandalwood. Now I'm not an expert when it comes to fragrances, but I could barely smell the Sandalwood which contributes to the "woody structure" of the fragrance and I think that's why I liked it so much. I'm more partial to citrus/floral scents, and I could smell the richness of the Blackberry and Damask Rose immediately after testing it out. It's more of a "day" scent for me and it's definitely a keeper! Have you tried it?

  • L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black Mascara

When I tried L'Oreal Paris' new Telescopic Explosion Mascara, my expectation was (due to the fact that the design was copied after Givenchy's Phenomen'Eyes Mascara - which you all know I love!) that it would be a nice lower priced substitute. Now it comes close with regards to the design - it also has a ball-shaped brush/tip, and it also separates and lengthens lashes. I like that the formula doesn't harden after applying it to lashes, because this makes for easy touch-ups. But because this mascara lacks in delivering volume, it will never be a substitute for Givenchy's Phenomen'Eyes.

  • Max Factor Vivid Impact Lip Color

I loved the lipstick! The texture is rich, smooth and moisturizing, with a high color payoff. My only issue with the lipstick was that #28 Rose Rage wasn't the best color for me. My picks are #72 Vegas, Baby and #20 Skinny Dip- and I can't wait to try them out!

  • Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to test Max Factor's 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper in #402 Black Velvet. I had high hopes for the mascara, but unfortunately it did not work for me. The most I was able to achieve from it was lash separation. There was no lengthening and no volume at all. Oh, and I will tell you that I did apply three coats to each side. In order for me to continue to use it, I'd have to pair it with another mascara in order to achieve my desired lash look.

  • L'Oreal Paris EverPure Moisture Shampoo

Though my hair isn't color-treated, it's always super dry, so I did test the EverPure Moisture shampoo and conditioner and was pleased with the ease of use (yes, the shampoo does lather) and the way my hair felt after using them. The conditioner left my hair soft and very easy to comb through (one of my biggest challenges!). I'm loving that there's a range of products in this line, which means you have no excuse for not selecting the shampoo and conditioner for your specific haircolor needs. For those of you who deal with frizzy hair- try the EverPure Smooth collection and for those of you with thin, limp hair- try the EverPure Volume collection.

  • DDF Protect and Correct

The best advice that I can give all of my readers with regards to skincare is to buy skincare products according to your individual skincare type/needs/issues. So for those of you with hyperpigmentation issues or uneven skintone, you will want to consider trying DDF's Protect and Correct UV Moisturizer SPF 15. This is a lightweight moisturizer that works to even skintone and prevent hyperpigmentation. As an esthetician, you all can probably imagine how passionate I am about skincare. The one aspect I’m most passionate about is protection from the sun. This product contains broad spectrum UVA-UVB protection. Sun damage leads not only to skin cancer, aging, and collagen and elastin deterioration, but to hyperpigmentation, capillary damage and free radical damage. Everyone needs to wear a moisturizer with an SPF - regardless of your skintone-everyday, rain or shine! With this product you'll receive the benefits of the prevention of hyperpigmentation, correction of uneven skintone and protection from UV rays. This all combined makes it totally worth giving it a try!

  • Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask

I'm not sure if you all remember my trip to Bliss 49, located inside the ultra-luxe W Hotel, for the Triple Oxygen Treatment facial. I HEART Marcia Kilgore and was dying to visit the spa and try the Triple Oxygen Treatment facial after reading so much about it. Overall, I loved the treatment and left with the Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask in an effort to try and maintain the wonderful facial I'd just received. The first time I used it was shortly after having had the facial and I found that after allowing it to sit on my skin, I felt a stinging sensation. I took into consideration the fact that I had just had a professional deep cleansing, steam treatment and exfoliation and that my skin might have been somewhat sensitized, so I decided to wait a while before using it again. Most recently, I've been using the mask in the mornings after cleansing, and I like the results. My schedule is jammed packed these days and my skin looks tired some mornings, so this is a great "pick-me-up" and leaves my skin looking fresh. After cleansing I apply the mask to my face, neck and decollete and allow it to sit for five minutes during which a light foam develops. I rinse after five minutes and apply my eye cream, moisturizer and sunblock. While this is no substitute for my weekly mask treatments, it's a great energizer for dull and tired skin that's safe enough to use up to three times weekly.
