  • Bath & Body Works True Blue Spa Disappearing Act Instant Cuticle Remover

No wonder this is in the discount bin at B&BW. It's no good! The cuticle pusher is too big, and the cuticle remover doesn't do the job. This line has got great products, but this is not one of them.

    Nude Replenishing Night Oil

Sits on my desk at work... (along with Nude lips)

for a little pampering through out the day. I pat in on around my eyes, under my nose & anywhere else that may need a little extra hydration. Who cares that it's for night? I love it all the time :)

  • Patricia Wexler M.D. Intensive 3-in-1 Eye Cream: Lifting, Firming, Anti-Wrinkle Formula

This concoction is wonderfully hydrating and contains proven peptide power to mitigate the burgeoning line under my right eye. What I love best about it is the highly potent anti-aging ingredients are non-irritating to the skin. My sensitive eyes can't handle much. Love it!

  • Avene Cold Cream Lip Balm
    9.0

    Avene Cold Cream Lip Balm

    for lovely lips

As I'm sure you're aware by now, I'm always on a mission to find the most fantastic lip balms for different occasions. I'm sure some people have just one brand they stick to, but not me. Like your skin, your lips have different needs depending on the conditions you're in. Take constant flying - the non-existent humidity leaves your lips parched and sad because they are not kissable! However, when you have the proper lip balm for this occasion, you don't need to worry your pretty little head. The gorgeous French import skin care line Avene has a Cold Creme Lip Balm that is to die for. So soft, so cushiony- lips are hydrated with their famed Thermal spring water & protected with antioxidants. The creaminess lasts for ages! J'adore the slanted tip - how often do you see such an elegant lip balm, no?

  • Fake Bake Self-Tanning Mousse

    Fake Bake Self-Tanning Mousse

My co-editior's review (aka - my sister)

I've recently found that tanning mousse is my new favorite way to get a fake tan. All though it's not the first time hearing of it, I feel I've finally found a pair that have mastered the art. Fake Bake self-tanning mousse gives a rich, dark golden tan & most definitely did not turn me orange (noted for pale & sensitive skin).

  • Ken Paves Boost up Color Drops

Ken Paves Boost up Color Drops

A little spendy, but a great product

I've been using Ken Paves Boost up Color Drops for the last month or so, and I am really loving it. One thing I find about colour depositing conditioners is they are not always terribly moisturizing. This product allows you to turn any conditioner into a colour depositing one. I mix a few pumps with a deep treatment and simultaneously soften & strengthen my locks as well as deposit shine & enhance colour. It also weighs in at under an ounce, so it's great to travel with. Products like this are fantastic - I love being able to customize my beauty treatments depending on my needs.

  • Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Hard As Wraps

Sometimes I go through strange phases with my beauty routine. Occasionally I'll add or subtract items or steps, or just slightly tweak colours or formulations, always trying to get my look perfect, constantly refining it. Lately I've been a focusing on my nails, which as you may know I just normally buff to a shine. Well lately I've just been feeling like I needed a little something more, you know? So, this weekend while in Walgreens picking up prescriptions I was looking around the beauty section. Normally I'd buy nail products from one of the showrooms rather than the drugstore but for some reason I just had to have something right then and there, and Sally Hansen's Hard as Wraps was at my fingertips. Can I just say as someone who does not normally paint my nails, I am pleasantly surprised! I buffed then put on one coat of this clear pink tint on (with nothing else). It has stayed beautifully shiny, strong and chip free for over a week. It's thick and takes a bit to dry so I just followed up with my Creative Nail Design Solar Speed Spray - it set quickly and has lasted... so glossy & gorgeous. Isn't it great to stumble upon a fantastic product when you're not looking for it?

  • Alba Un-Petroleum Multi-Purpose Jelly

I love Aquaphor, I mean I really, really love it and I go through a lot of it. My skin is always so dry, it seems to beg for it. I mix it in everything, I wear it with my sunblock in the morning, and over my Avage at night. On the eyes, on the lips, elbows & everywhere in between that needs an extra boost of moisture. It's highly recommended by dermatologists all over, but that doesn't mean that it's good for the Earth. I've always been a recycler and try to keep the Earth in mind, but I've become more aware of all the things I could be doing - if anything, I think the Green movement is making people reconsider things, like beauty products. Knowing that about 60% of what you put on your skin absorbs into your body, you should probably be more aware of what you're using. (There is a reason that things such as Salycilic acid and Retinods aren't recommended for use while pregnant or breastfeeding.) Anyway, now to the actual product switch. There is a store here in the Pacific NorthWest that I'm hooked on called Super Supplements. It sells a huge variety of vitamins, supplements & natural items like beauty products - and it does it all without the hippie vibe - which is very nice. I'm always checking out their beauty products (most of which have testers!) and Alba's Un-petroleum caught my eye - it's a natural alternative to Vaseline & similar products, Aquaphor included. It's made with Coconut oil, beeswax, Vitamin E and Castor oil. It has a fantastic texture, no yucky smell and the biggie that sold me is every time I would have been applying petroleum, I'm applying the anti-oxidant Vitamin E topically! BRILLIANT! I also picked up one of their Un-petroleum SPF 18 lip balms in Vanilla. I'm so picky about taste and smell (I'd really prefer there wasn't any) but this one's scent was very, very faint and I couldn't really taste anything. I'm happy all around - these products are better for my skin, the environment & my wallet(Under $5 a tube and just a couple $ for the lip balm)!

  • Lavanila Laboratories Body Butter
    9.0

    Lavanila Laboratories Body Butter

    All the scents are amazing...

For the last year or two, Shivaughn & I have been big fans of Lavanila Laboratories & their products. She originally bought herself a bottle of Vanilla Blossom & a bottle of Pure Vanilla for me (this was during my Chanel hiatus). Well, it's pretty much been her signature scent since then and the Pure Vanilla version is of my favourites - it's very earthy & sensual. In any case, my fondness grew for the gorgeous scent & the fact that so much of what you put on your body is actually absorbed into your body. Lavanila is super safe, natural, and wonderful - a perfume that actually delivers anti-oxidants! Imagine that? Over time the line has expanded in both scent selection & product variety, the latest being Vanilla Lavender - a lovely sleepy time scent. Lathering up with the body butter prior to bed time put me in such a relaxed, serene state. And knowing that the butter's anti-oxidants would work their magic while I got my beauty winks made drifting off a breeze...
