  • Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner

I'll start my review by mentioning that I dye my hair a lot. I had virgin hair for a while & wanted a black-brown (1st time dying on virgin hair). Well it didn't stay dark enough so I went black. I had used Revlon colorstay (2nd-over the 1st black-brown) and it just fried my hair. That type of "fried" that you can't even run a brush through it when it's dry type. I was so sad and didn't think i'd ever get my hair decent again to be able to run a brush through it. Well this went beyond my expectations. My virgin hair is pretty "average" and this conditioner made my fried hair silky. The hair at my scalp is no longer so thick & coarse a brush would get stuck. I'm 100% positive if I ran a brush through it right now it'd just glide through. I love this tube so much because of what it has transformed my hair into. I also like tubes better than tubs for conditioners. And fyi everyone: this product is better than sally's beauty supply's ion coditioner, the Aussie 3minute one, & the Burts Bees Shea& Grapefruit conditioner. Those never did anything when I've fried my hair in the past. Yes this review is only after one use but I think if it can turn my fried hair into softer-than-virgin hair I'm happy! I'll update this as I use it to see if it continues being so awesome. This is the best conditioner I've ever used. I bought it after I read the rave reviews on here and decided to try it out. I have slightly wavy hair and this is so far the only product that does wonders for my hair. It leaves my hair non-greasy, and non-frizzy as well. I didn't use it one day and used a Suave conditioner instead, and my hair was frizzy. I am on my second tube of this and will continue to repurchase. My hair feels incredibly soft, looks incredibly shiny and is not weighed down one bit. I'd highly recommend this product to anyone with the same hair type as me. Curly hair might need more moisture, and pin straight hair might be weighed down. I'm not sure and couldn't tell anyone with those hair types how this product would be for them.

  • Aussie Opposites Attract Conditioner

This is your average conditioner, nothing special. If you are happy with the conditioner you have now and just want to try something new, look elsewhere. This is no different than the many other conditioners on the drug store shelves. Aussie has came out with a lot of new lines lately but none seem to be as good as the lines they discontinued for their new products. The smell is pretty strong so make sure you smell it before you decide to buy. Edit- I think this conditioner is causing itchy scalp, nothing else has changed in my routine but this conditioner. I will be returning this. I was looking a cheap conditioner that would work well on my long thick hair which is really hard to untangle. I usually try to stick to natural products from the health food store, but it gets expensive so I switch once in a while. I like this product for the smell and it does feel very moisturizing. One of the reviewers said that it "coats" your hair, I would not be surprised because most of the cheap shampoos and conditioner rely on wax coating to make your locks shiny and silky. I use apple cider vinegar in my hair once in a while to deep cleanse and switch brands to try to minimize that effect. Apple cider vinegar is effective for the winter as well when the air is dry and you get dandruffs. It helps balance the ph. I rolled out of bed this morning, looked in the mirror and thought, "Wow. My hair is really shiny" --which is not typical for me. My hair looks healthy, feels ultrasoft, and shines even more than when I use John Frieda's salon glaze. I can't speak much for the strengthening aspect as yet being that I've only used it twice. I haven't noticed much less hair coming off on my comb. Hopefully with continued use my hair will become stronger and I'll give this product a fifth lippie. Until then, I give it an enthusiastic four.

  • Sally Hansen Dries Instantly Top Coat

I never seem to be able to get a smooth shiny finish on my nails that lasts. I'll always end up bumping my nails into something hard any denting them- Even a half hour after brushing on a top coat! The application of the product is almost flawless. It goes on very smoothly and the surface dries quickly- Which keeps the shine while the rest dries. When I saw this product, I did not have high expectations, because I assumed that because of its fast drying time, it would be hard to apply it quickly enough for it to not get brush strokes, also an issue for me. I was so wrong! The consistency is relatively thin so it can go on without problem, and yet dry very quickly after that. It's amazing! I would not say one coat of this will dry in 30 seconds... BUT this is really not a problem, even the most impatient of people can wait a few minutes before touching it. Another great feature of this top coat is that it will, in my experience, keep the nail polish from chipping for more than double the normal time. I've had people asking if my nails were done professionally. Good luck! I needed a top coat and didn't have time to go to Sally's so I picked this up at the drugstore instead. It was a little over a dollar and I figured it wouldn't work that well, but I was pleasantly surprised. Now, it doesn't completely live up to the claim "30 second top coat", it takes a bit longer than that, but it does dry about as fast (and hard) as Seche Vite. The best part is that this makes my nail polish last, on average, five days. With SV I used to have to redo every single day because it would chip so badly. I also had no shrinkage with this. The reason I gave this a four instead of a five is that when I got towards the last 1/4 of the bottle, it started to bubble up on my nails. It's a bit of a pain to only be able to use part of the bottle, but at a dollar it's not that big of a deal to go buy another one when it starts to do that. And I definitely will be buying more of this. This stuff is pretty good especially for the drug store price. It dries fast and has a shiny look as well as hard and smooth to the touch. It claims to dry in 30 seconds which isn't exactly true but it does dry in about 5 min, atleast well enough to do basic things without worrying about smudges. The only thing I do not love about this is towards the last 2/3 of the bottle it's getting thicker and is drying faster so I am needing more on the brush to have a nice smooth coat over my polish. Would still definitely repurchase This does dry instantly, so that you can get on with your manicure almost immediately. The first hand you paint will be dry by the time you get done polishing the other hand. Great esp for quick manicures. UPDATE: I put this on my toenails as a basecoat before applying a deep red polish, and this product prevented my nails from yellowing. This produce is quite effective AND inexpensive as well. If you are looking for a base coat product, this would be a good one to try out. I never seem to be able to get a smooth shiny finish on my nails that lasts. • OPI Natural Nail Base Coat

I tried this out based on recc's for stain prevention. I've been using it on short nails with very dark and bright colors known to stain, and I have to say, I think it does a very good job of stain prevention! That's huge if you've ever stained your nails and like to go back & forth between sheers, clears, and brights. It has not accelerated any chipping for me, but I think that short length nails with little to no free edge do not have much chipping problems. I've been wearing a work polish Sunday night - Thursday night and my color stays put, especially with a mani extender clear coat half-way through the week, if I have time, which I usually don't. I am not currently trying to grow my nails out, I'm finding short much more chic and easy to care for right now. I can definitely see why nail salons use this brand of polish. It goes on smoothly, dries fast and looks great. I have nails that tend to break and tear after they get a certain length. But I've been using the "Hair, Skin and Nail" vitamin for a few solid months now, and it's made such a difference in the appearance of my nails. I've tried nail strengtheners, the Sally Hansen "Diamond Hard" polish. But it chipped, and almost made my nails so hard that they couldn't bend, they'd just break. I love using clear coats because I like the look of natural nails. This polish is always going to be in my cabinet. 4/5 just for how many times I have to apply it. As my nails grow, the polish tends to grow towards the center of my nails and chip off. I tried this out based on recc's for stain prevention. Benefit Dandelion

    <33333333

I bought this blush a few days ago having decided I'd quite like a pink blush to go with my vast collection of corals! I adore Coralista and Sugarbomb and I also use Bella Bamba but only in summer. As a lover of all the BeneFit blushes, I decided to go for Dandelion as I wanted a soft pink, not a bright pink (Bella Bamba does that job!) and the reviews are pretty good too. However, whilst I will use it and I do like it, it doesn't live up to the others, especially Coralista. I guess it depends what you want in a blush. I like a shimmer, or a sheen, but not glitter. Coralista and Sugarbomb have a gorgeous sheen, with the Sugarbomb sheen being more on the golden side. Dandelion, however, has a very subtle shimmer, almost to the point of being unnoticeable. It doesn't make my face glow like the others do and when I did wear it, I ended up putting Coralista on top just for the sheen as I knew I wasn't happy with it. However, it did give a lovely pink glow during the day. I will therefore be keeping it, however I will not use it alone. I will use something on top to bring more life to my cheeks, maybe my Mac Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle or my Bobbi Brown Beige Shimmer Brick. I think both are neutral enough not to hide the pink tones of this blush but they will add some much-needed shimmer. I've never been a lover of matte blushes, so I think I expected too much from Dandelion. As with all BeneFit blushes, however, I cannot fault the quality and it is very easily applied and does not streak at all. Anyone who wants a healthy glow without much shimmer will love this. Those who prefer the more noticeable blushes from BeneFit will probably find they need to use something else with it. UPDATE: I have upgraded this to a 4 as I've discovered I can create the most beautiful glow using this and my Mac Soft & Gentle Skinfinish on the cheekbones. This has therefore become my favourite pink blush and I will definitely be repurchasing! • CARGO The Reverse Lipliner

I just picked up one of these pencils after much debate. It seemed a little too gimmicky but these reviews won me over. I am so happy with my purchase. For its intended purpose it truly sticks to its claim. For one thing it prevents feathering. The pencil also highlights your mouth making it stand out more. Now when it comes to those of you with thinner top lips, this is a wonderful product. It highlights the entire area above your mouth which gives a fantastic illusion of a plumper top lip. After reading some reviews I discovered that some use it to line the waterline to make eyes appear bigger. I did this, however for me, a girl with down turned eyes, it only made them look bigger in a bad way where my already droopy eyes opened up and looked even more sleepy. Instead, though, I used a brown pencil on the outer corner of the lower waterline and the cargo pencil on the inner corner to highlight. The two colors together really uplifted my downturned eyes and created a almond eye affect. Finally I took it a step further and used the pencil on the inner corners of my eyes, on top of the concealer that was hardly concealing my dark circles. With a little blending my under eye circles disappeared and were left highlighted. I should note that I'm a very fair skinned girl so this pencil in 01 was only slightly lighter than my skin tone. But it created such a beautiful highlighter for anyone out there with paler skin. I'd absolutely recommend this not only for its effectiveness but because of how simple it makes my make up routine. I use the same pencil for lips, eyes and concealer, cutting my time in half. The times when I am completely floored by a product come few and far between but this pencil is absolutely outstanding. Gosh, this is great! Use it every day. Much like previous posters, I got created and used on the eyes, inner eyes and the lips. Bright, bright and one of the things I learned from Carmindy is BLEND, BLEND and then, BLEND some more. The first time I tried it around my lips; I was got really scared because it was not the look that I would like to sport around the office. But, I blended it until there was just a slight hint of color that gave you definition. Kinda like, you know there is something there but can’t quite put your finger on it. An Illusion! It’s definitely gives you a fuller lips. And, the eyes, well, so many has already said them…what else can I add. Try it on the eyes and on inner side of the eyes. It just might surprise you. IMO, it’s a must in my daily routine.

  • CoverGirl Clean Liquid Makeup, Oil Control

I really thought this had HG status until I met Dermablend. But that´s other story. The point is, this foundation is really good. I have the classic ivory shade and it suits perfectly with my pale skin (cool undertones). This foundation blends in really naturally, almost like a second skin. You have to wear waaay too much to make it look cakey. I used like 3 layers to cover my super problematic skin and it never looked cakey or false. It offers from light to medium-high coverage depending on how much you use. I found that a primer is really important if you want to achieve high coverage, but if not, it isn´t necessary. It offers a matte finish that lasts really long time and longer if you set it with powder. I used the pressed powder from the same line and in the same shade and they made a killer combo. The huge problem comes with the package. The glass bottle it comes in, is almost imposible to manage. You have to put the bottle upside down, hit it a little, get the foundation in you hand, then in a sponge or a brush and that takes too much time. There´s no way you can fit a brush into that bottle. And even if the price is ok, half the product is wasted because you can get it out of the #%$ bottle! But if you´re willing to deal with the worst packaging ever, I strongly recommend this foundation. On other tips on how to deal with this foundation, contact me :) I have recently purchased this since it was sitting lonely by itself on an end cap at walmart being sold for the price of $1..in my shade Classic Ivory which is the lightest shade well little did i know id end up paying $4 in the end and wasnt able to return it since it wasnt on clearance at my local walmart & couldnt get it back to original store by the 90 days sooo i was a bit mad but anyway i have it and have used it so i will review it! PRICE/AVAILABILITY- CG Cosmetics are readily found in most drugstores like Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid as well as mass stores like Walmart & Target. Price will vary depending on your location as well as where you pick it up DS tend to run a little more as well as coupons/discounts. This Ive seen run around $4-6 which is pretty cheap and great even for DS liquid foundations since they keep getting more pricey these days. I paid $4 SHADE//FORMULA- i purchased mine in the lightest shade "Classic Ivory" which is a great pale shade with an almost neutral undertone but more cool than anything. great for my extremely pale cool skin. it matches 95% which is great for me. I have seen around 9 shades available in this range but i also live in a small town so im sures there more since CG does have a wider range nowadays. The formula for CLEAN MAKEUP OIL CONTROL does just that. it does have a matte finish, not too matte though, its a thicker cream like liquid. This is thick so blending does take some work. I dont have oily skin so im sure this isnt the formula for me but for those with combo/oliy skin im sure this will work wonderfully. this almost has a powder like finish without looking like a mask so it will help protect against oil production that oxidizes and fades/creases your foundation as the day progresses. this is a great affordable alternative to say Revlon Colorstay. This is a light to med coverage. cant be built up for better coverage. I found it took away uneveness, redness, dark spots and slightly covered major blemishes. So its great coverage, finish is more of a natural looking matte finish. Great for combo & oily skin types. I like the consistency since it feels moisturizing without being oily or wet or gross. Overall its a pretty great foundation. even though i have normal to dry skin, it works for me. i use this to lighten up my dark foundations & it works. it actually keeps my tzone area looking good & fresh longer than my other foundations. I didnt need to set this w/ powder but maybe it may help it stay on longer I got at least 8 hrs of wear out of this but im sure it stay fresh for at least 9 or so hours. which is amazing for the price! PACKAGING- this comes in a glass jar which looks like most CG older versions liquid foundations. its glass and sturdy and heavy duty so it wont break or crack on you with some rough handling. It does not come with a pump unfortunately but with a twist on plastic top. the opening is about the size of a nickel. its large enough to allow some product to come out. fortunately this foundation is thicker so it dont come pouring out, if anything you got to really shake & tap it for it to come out slowly which makes it hard but nice so you dont get a whole bunch of wasted and unneeded foundation all over the place. This is a typical 1 Oz size jar. but with how little you need for the whole face, this 1 oz will last quite some time. I like the simple jar but i still dont understand why these companies just cant give us a pump nowadays?! either way its not a huge deal. the product inside sure makes up for no pump! overall- im glad i gave this a go & got to try it even though i wanted to punch the lady in the face for overcharging me since i only picked it up since it was suppose to be on clearance but either way i have learned to appreciate this and actually find it to be one of the few lighter toned foundations that evens out my flaws without looking like i spent all morning piling on foundation. the finish is nice and the formulation & staying power is superb for a $5 foundation! so for those with more combo to oily skin- def

  • Chapstick True Shimmer

I was so excited to finally see a Tropical flavored Chapstick. Unfortunately, this particular purchase has been a letdown. The shimmer in this product is silverish and cool, which made my lips look gray and corpse-like. Another demerit is due to the formula’s grainy texture – you can actually feel the glitter on your lips and it doesn’t seem as moisturizing as regular Chapstick. The glitter also tends to settle in the lip lines which can make you look even weirder. However, the tropical scent is very nice and if they produced this flavor with the regular Chapstick formula I would probably be a big fan. Sadly, for the extra money I spent on this product, I was disappointed. One of the great luxuries of Chapstick is that you can slap it on and go; but this requires a peep in the mirror to make sure you don’t look like the undead. Proceed with caution. I purchased this item for $3.29 in CVS. I really wanted to like this, because I love lip balm in tubes, and I love chapstick, and I love mint. I bought the Peppermint Rush type and while the minty flavor is nice, nothing else about it is. The texture is not as smooth as regular chapstick, more of a dry, slightly gritty feel. It isn't very moisturizing, and the glitter is too obvious. The first time I put it on, a friend made a crack about whether or not I'd been hanging out at the strip club- the glitter is much too big and there's much too much of it. The worst thing, though, is the color. It's blue. Not just a little blue- BLUE. Between the blue of the product and the silver of the glitter, after a few coats, my lips are are blue/white. I'm a nurse and while I was wearing this at work, one of my coworkers went "Oh my God, are you okay? Your lips are turning blue!" because my lips were so blue/white and ashy. That was the last time I wore this. I really, really wanted to like it. I wish Chapstick would make a shimmery product that was truly shimmery instead of glittery. This strikes me as more of a novelty product than a useful lip treatment. Unfortunately, although I see some good reviews this product was a disappointment for me... I used Botanical Berry and was expecting the same sheen/protection/moisture with a slight pinkish color offered by Cherry Chapstick with an added bit of shimmer. While the smell was good, the sheen and luster offered by Cherry Chapstick was absent. What I got was pale-whitish lips, with little sheen, shimmer that looked unpleasant and easily settled into lines, and lips that felt waxy instead of smooth. Also the lip protection was minimal and you must be careful not to apply too much product or else the pale white lip with streaked shimmer effect will appear more intense. Overall I don't hate it and will continue to use it sometimes, but I don't plan on purchasing again, but maybe this works better on those with a lighter skin tone or who don't required much lip moisture. EDIT: I've decided to add one lippie. My complaints are still the same, but I've found that if I apply a regular lip protectant (such as Carmex or chapstick) under this then I like the results. With a base underneath this it prevents the glitter from settling in lines and looks a lot better and goes on smoother.

    Nars Concealer

    <333333333333333333

I bought this in a duo along with the shade Custard at Sephora for $10 (yes, I peed in my pants a little when I found it online). I'm so thrilled, the closest concealer I had before was MAC's NW20 Studio Finish concealer, and it was a bit too sticky (I'm not sure if that's quite the right word to describe it, it was just a bit tacky in consistency) but this is a PERFECT match for my summer tanned skin. The lighter shade Custard is amazing for my winter paleness. It's a bit lighter and smoother than MAC, but it's not quite as long lasting. In fact, I highly recommend any wearer to use primer at all times. I wish the normal packaging wasn't in stick format, I'm a much bigger fan of pots because I always seem to mutilate stick concealer with my brushes. But really this is my HG. I always hated that my skin was so hard to match- I have pinkish/yellow undertones (yes, at the same time) and no concealer has ever come so close. Marry me, NARS.
