  • Avon GLIMMERSTICKS Waterproof Liner for Eyes

My mother bought some Avon cosmetics from a friend of hers at work, getting me one of the glimmersticks and buying one for herself. We both tried it (each of us havng completely different skin types) and both hated it. It doesn't glide well at all because it is so waxy. It does stay pretty well though, once you get it on, but it is very hard to not put a huge ugly thick line on your lid. I feel like it would have been okay just for tightlining, but this eyelinerjust didn't want to go on my waterline for some reason, I guess because it was so waxy. There's absolutely no way to get a soft or smudged line with this liner. My mother's reaction to this product was the same as well, except she found that she was allergic to all the makeup she bought and the glimmerstick made her eyes constantly water. The weird glittery junk doesn't exactly spread well again due to the hard waxes. It's overall just not a good product, glorified by a bunch of bandwagon-y hype.

  • Proactiv+ Three-Step System

I have been using the Proactiv line since I first started seeing pimples at age 11. It is so convenient, the products automatically ship at intervals that you pick. I find myself using the three-step in combination with my St. Ives apricot scrub and Johnson's baby lotion, it doesn't react negatively to any other products I use on my face. It's gentle enough to use during a bad breakout but still combats the acne beautifully. I use it once a day in the mornings to keep my skin clear, and when I do have a breakout (usually during stressful times or that time of the month), I use it morning and night for maximum acne elimination! The face wash is nice and gritty for a good every day scrub, and doesn't lather at all so it isn't drying and leaves your skin feeling so clean and soft. The benzoyl peroxide is an antibacterial that isn't too harsh but works wonderfully. I will admit, using the toner on a sore pimple is probably the worst experience of your life, the alcohols sting SO BAD. But it does it's job and really evens out my skin tone! The lotion has benzoyl peroxide in it as well, so it can actually be a little drying on areas like my jawline, but is wonderful for oily, acne prone skin. It definitely doesn't clog pores or feel greasy. Makeup application is flawless over the lotion because it soaks in so well. I will probably be using this line for the rest of my life, acne or no acne, because it truly is a skin-beautifying system.

  • Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean Splash Away Foaming Cleanser

As far as daily cleansers go, this would be great for someone who is no longer breaking out (possibly middle aged women). For me personally, it just doesn't do much of anything. It is a foamy cleanser, so it is rather drying and you will need a good moisturizer. I don't think this is quite worth the money, but would be a nice mother's day or Christmas gift. I think I will be sticking to washes made more for acne prone skin.

  • Olay Regenerist Microdermabrasion & Peel System

Olay has just never worked for my face. If you're going to buy anything from Olay, try the body washes. Other than that, this product is just irritating.

  • Cosmedicine Medi-Morphosis Self-Adjusting Exfoliator

Great for mine! Wouldn't recommend for people with very sensitive skin. The only time I can't use it on myself is during a bad breakout, but it's great as a good exfoliator!

  • Caress Daily Silk Silkening Body Wash

The scent is definitely a classic and very appropriate for any age/season. As far as the moisturizing qualities, it's average. However still a great price and versatile soap! I have bought it several times and more than likely will buy again.

  • St. Ives Naturally Clear Blemish & Blackhead Control Apricot Scrub

This is probably my favorite drugstore scrub EVER! Words do not describe my love for St. Ives, but I'll try my best. I started using this when I was just 14 years old and really starting to crack down on my acne. Since my skin is so stubborn, I began using this in combination with Proactiv to really clean my skin. It has salicylic acid in it to slough off dead skin so pores don't get clogged with dead cells, which forms pesky pimples and blackheads! It's my preferred scrub over others like Clean n Clear or Neutrogena because it's so gritty and rough. I, having really high maintenance and flaky skin, need an extremely gritty scrub to open up infected and clogged pores. This one is great if you have not-so-sensitive skin, but I have used it on my friends with sensitive skin and it works just as well, but maybe as a weekly scrub. The smell is great compared to most other salicylic acid treatments, and I've noticed when it gets in my mouth a little in the shower, it actually has a sweet taste, like it's very natural and safe. I just love it, it will always be my go-to face wash.

    Q-tips Cotton Swabs

    Perfect Beauty Tool

What would we do without these simple, yet NECESSARY objects?! I can hardly start my day without using at least three of these babies. After taking a shower, I'll use one to remove any leftover makeup that soap couldn't get off. It's easier to get eyeliner off of the waterline and remove those pesky mascara boogers. As far as makeup application, I first use a q-tip to apply any acne spot treatments that I may be wearing under my foundation. Then I use another if I'm wearing any eyeshadows on my lower lashline, or to add a highlight in the inner corner or the eye. It's a cleaner way to apply makeup than brushes that are used daily. And what a fantastic way to smudge eyeliner! If you're going for a more natural look, or even a bold smokey eye, a q-tip is perfect for getting just the right amount of smudge without using those nasty little sponges on the ends of some eyeliners. Any mistakes made with the mascara wand or eyeliner brush can quickly be fixed without having to completely redo an entire eye! Just slightly wet a q-tip with water or makeup remover and dab the mistake away, touching up around the bare spot. It's the perfect tool for anyone who doen't like to buy expensive or multiple brushes, or someone who prefers a cleaner alternative to makeup application. As far as manicures go, a q-tip can do everything from touching up mistakes around the nail to applying cuticle oil. On several occasions, I make a mess of my nails trying to paint them myself, so I always have a few q-tips and some nail polish remover at hand. To clean wounds around the nail, (or anywhere), apply antiseptic or antibacterial creams to the boo-boo using a q-tip for a sterile approach. PERFECT BEAUTY TOOL. SO MANY USES. TOO MANY TO LIST!
