  • Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner/Styling Cream

This has got to be my all time favorite. I have been using this since I got it for when I wear my hair natural. It is awesome for wash n go's. I literally throw my head under the water and apply the conditioner and Im good. My curls look like curls-individual curls! Not a big frizz ball. It really helps with the frizz. The best part, I can forget to tie my hair up before bed and when I wake up I still have my curls like the day before, now to refresh them I use some warm water and a little of the conditioner and I spray my hair-again, Im good! I could go on and on about this product, but I think you get the point. It is awesome. I think it works great on Black American hair. My hair is prone to being dry, so I have to have a conditioner that moisturizes and leaves my hair feeling hydrated, and this does. Two thumbs up to Mixed Chicks!

  • Mixed Chicks Deep Conditioner

This conditioner had me sold the moment I used it. I have two different curl patterns in my hair, my bangs are more wavy then curly and they are also the driest part of my hair. Upon using the deep conditioner, I could see the difference between it and other conditioners that I have used. I always tend to be more generous with the application of conditioner in the front part for these reasons. I was very impressed with the results. The pattern looked a little more curly, not a full spriral like the rest, but almost. It looked and felt more hydrated. I use it all the time now! I love this product, it is a very good product, my second fav in the product line. It comes highly recommended.

  • Mixed Chicks Shampoo

I actually did a review on my blog about this line. I had heard a lot about Mixed Chicks and wanted to try it. The shampoo, it is a good cleanser, gives a great lather. Here is my problem with it, it tangles my hair and dries it out and that is due to the sulfate it has in it. Other then that, I think it is a good buy. I don't use it for a daily washing. But if there is any product build up in my hair, I will use this shampoo because it will get the gunk out.

  • Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide Protective Smoother

I found this product on youtube! Was really excited about trying, as soon as I got home I was in the mirror wetting sections of my hair applying the product and flat ironing. OMG! My hair was as straight as it would be if I used a chemical relaxer. Not only was it smooth and straight, but the shine was incredible. I think it cost me about $14, but it is worth it. I love this product. What I really love is it is a heat protectant. And although it is kind of oily, I never have any build up on my hair. The only thing is when you first use it, it kind of catches you off guard because of the smoke that comes off, but it is the product burning, not your hair. Plus it even gets my ends straight, which is hard to do! Love, love, love this product!

  • Garnier Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Anti-Humidity Smoothing Milk

I have always like Garnier Frutis Sleek n Shine line. I bought this so I could get my hair straight and shiny. It did what it was suppose to do. My ends wouldnt get as straight as I would have liked them to. I also noticed that if you use a bit too much, your hair will revert back. It doesnt have any kind of a heat protective in it, which is needed when applying heat. Overall, it was ok. Nothing amazing about it. Would I buy it again? Maybe if I couldnt find my Redken anywhere.

  • Pantene Pro-V Curly Hair Series Moisture Renewal Conditioner

Now, in all honesty, I probably should have tried Pantene Relaxed and Natural. I decided to go natural almost a year ago, in other words no more chemically straightening my hair. I was going to let my curls shine through. This was the first "curly hair" product I used as far as shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo was NOT the best. Really drying on my hair. Has sulfate in it. But I am the kind of gal who will mix shampoo and conditioners from different brands if need be. My hopes were really set on the conditioner, this is the bank all my $ goes into. I was not impressed with the conditioner at all! I didnt see a different in my curls, my hair was the same. I will not spend my money on this again. It works well on some Black American hair, youtube reviewers seem to love it. I on the other hand will not give it a second glance now in the stores.

  • OPI Nail Lacquer
    10.0

    OPI Nail Lacquer

    Like None Other

My all time favorite nail polish is OPI. The colors are awesome, the names are great and it really does wear for a while. The last collection I got was the Texas Collection with the new sorbet finish, my fav being Too Hot Pink To Hold Em. OMG, I loved the sorbet finishes. The matte colors I wasnt the craziest about, but I didnt hate them. The sorbet it reminds me of a stain like for your nails. It is translucent, the shine is crazy amazing. I mean you dont need a top coat because it dries as shiny as it goes on. Of course the brushes are great. What else I like about the shades, is that, some colors you really dont need a second coat. I mean I always wear two coats, but some of the shades go on opaque enough with just one coat. Price wise, $8.50 a bottle maybe steep just because some of the shades are comparable. But if you think in terms of quality, the fact that you can apply OPI on Monday and it still be looking good on Friday, then it is worth even penny. And if you still dont want to spend $8.50 yourself, birthdays and Christmas are great times to have someone else buy it for you.
