    DDF Cellular Cleansing Complex

    Thick and Nourishing!

I really like the thicker cream of this and the smell is quite nice. I find that it does not lather at all, it just sort of melts away dirt and makeup, leaving my skin feeling fresh, clean and not dry at all.

  • Kerastase Masque UV Defense Active Replenishing After-Sun Treatment for Weakened, Color-Treated Hair

This is a masque that I have used as a masque, but also a tiny amount after shampooing, which I swear is making all the difference in my hair. It deeply replenishes and strengthens m helping it to become shinier, softer and more radiant.

  • Kerastase Serum Apres-Soleil

    Kerastase Serum Apres-Soleil

Fight the Frizz with This Serum!

This is a fantastic serum that makes my hair soft, frizz free, and ultra-shiny. I use it when my hair is sopping wet, before even towel drying to help seal in as much moisture as I can. And if I need to control any bit of frizz or unwanted curl, I run a teensy bit over my hair after it is dry. While the serum completes the system for me and works beautifully together with the other two products, this is a holy grail product for my daughter who has super thick wavy hair. One pump of serum spread through her dry hair makes her hair look like she literally just stepped out of the finest salon using the finest tools. You would never know that her thickness was air dried.

  • Anastasia 5-Element Brow Kit
    9.0

    Anastasia 5-Element Brow Kit

    Perfecto in a Kit!

I am using the Anastasia Five Piece Brow Kit. In the handy kit are five essentials - Tweezers, Brow Powder, four Brow Stencils, one Duo Brush (Angled Cut / Spooley), and Brow Gel. I am using the Ash Blonde kit, and it is a perfect match for me. Anastasia's tweezers have been a main stay in my makeup bag for years now, so I was happy to have a newer, more sharp pair. Tweezing is so simple with the angled tweezers, grabbing the hair perfectly, making for easy removal and minimal pain. Before I use the powder to define and shape my brows, I use the Brow Fix first. Brow Fix (which is not in the kit) is a pencil made up of a gel-like wax. It keeps brows in place and my powder adheres to it better and easier. If you do not favor brow powder, her Brow Pencil is a great choice too. The pencil features a built-in brow brush on the opposite end of the pencil for perfect grooming. Or you can try her Tinted Brow Gel. My sister has very light eyebrows and loves the look she gets when using the tinted gel in Caramel. She says the ease of use to help define and keep in place is a plus. To try and get my brows to grow faster, I have been using her NuBrow gel, every night. "The unique gel-based formula is designed to help restore thin, over-plucked, and undernourished eyebrows. The deep conditioning action works to help stimulate brow growth, leaving them looking bold and beautiful. Brow is a colorless and odorless gel, comprised of a unique blend of top proteins and vitamins designed to condition, repair, and restore the eyebrows." Next up for me to check out are her highlighters, though with my makeup kept to more of a minimum in the Summer, I don't think I will try them unless I am doing a full on eyeshadow.

  • Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer

On the back of this box the first thing I noticed in BIG print, "Not to Prime is a Crime!!", which is a quote from Napoleon Perdis. He is speaking of course to his product Auto Pilot, which is a pre-foundation skin primer. Chamomile, Yarrow extract and Vitamin E help make up this specially blended primer. It instantly hydrates the skin while smoothing it out, making a perfect canvas for which to apply your makeup. This primer is really unlike any other that I have used before. It has very little dimethicone to it, so it is not all slippery like most silicone based makeup primers. It is a creamy-white tinted lotion, with a very thin consistency. It has a pleasant smell, but I cannot put my finger on what the scent actually is. Fragrance is listed as an ingredient so I know it is not just the ingredients giving the Auto Pilot this fresh scent, but like I said, I cannot come up with a very good description of it. Let's just say it is not offensive at all and this primer will not interfere with any other scented products you may (or may not) use. One thing this primer does do, in a very good way, is make my makeup glide over the surface much better than before. I swear I have to use less foundation with it as well. And having my makeup last all day in the Summer is not an easy task, but Auto Pilot has definitely helped. The tube runs $39 and you have to be careful not to squeeze out too much product or it will go to waste. A little drop is all you need to smooth over the entire face and neck - I like the way it makes my neck look more matte and even toned - so I think the price is not bad. You can pick this up at Sephora or right on the Napoleon Perdis site, where you can look for more targeted Auto Pilot products too. I would say it would be a crime not to try this primer, especially if you are not a regular user of primers. It will definitely make a believer out of you.

  • Liz Earle Sun Shade Botanical Aftersun Gel

Liz Earle Sun Shade Botanical Aftersun Gel

    Cooling - Soothing- Rehydrating!

After a wonderful day at the beach this week, I was left with a bit of a burn on the back of my shoulders and neck. I thought I was protected, but I think the salt water quickly washed away my sunscreen where I needed it most (the waves were HUGE!). That night, I looked quickly to see what I had to help soothe my burn that was heating up - and fast. I grabbed Sun Shade Botanical Aftersun Gel from Liz Earle and her Naturally Active Skincare line. When you see the name Sun shade, I am sure you think of a sunblock, right? Well, in this case Sun Shade is actually a product to bring your skin the shade with it's cooling botanical ingredients - to help skin cool down after a bit of too much sun. This gel not only cools and calms the heat, as it melts over the skin, it is absorbed. You are never left with sticky or greasy residue. Made with organic aloe vera, cucumber, lavender and natural Vitamin E, featuring a cool menthol scent, I only needed one application to help soothe my skin - so I could sleep free of sunburn pain.

  • Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream
    8.0

    Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream

    Yummy with Believable Color!

It looks a bit like whipped chocolate pudding. And even smells a bit like cocoa - probably because this self tanning cream is made with cocoa, the richest part of cocoa butter. Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream smells good enough to eat - but I caution you not to (eat it, that is). I urge you to spread this luxurious cream over your body - wherever you want a deep rich, glorious golden tan. This beauty is perfect for the legs. My legs are finally looking how I like them to look faux-tanned. This delicious cream moisturizes as it glides across your skin, while leaving it super soft. The instant color is gorgeous too, one that you can apply and then go out of the house with - after waiting about ten minutes for it to completely dry, that is. I so love the fact that I only need to re-apply this cream every week - five days if I really want to amp it up. Of course, the darker you want to go, you could apply as often as you wish - but it is not necessary. Really, this self tanner lasts, and fades very naturally. No one will ever know that you go faux!

  • MAC Skinsheen Leg Spray

    MAC Skinsheen Leg Spray

    Great for a temporary tan!

Having to a wear a dress and having super white legs that have not lived up to a normal faux-tan routine do not qual pretty. Or anything remotely pretty. So when I had to get dressed up this week, I knew I needed to find something that would work on my legs - pronto. I have used some other cream formulas in the past and really like LORAC TANtalizer and Benefit's Jiffy Tube, but as I love spray on products, I figured I would give MAC's Skinsheen Leg Spray. Well, the spray on part was different than what I expected. It is an aerosol, yes, but nothing that can be used as a simple spray on application. The gel-like liquid sprays out and onto legs, but needs to be blended over skin. I used my hands to spread it out evenly, and it really was not hard at all. The look is slightly tinted and nice and glowy. It appears almost glossy right away, but it does dry down to a nice sheen. Skinsheen seemed to be completely dry in under ten minutes, but I gave it a bit more than that to make sure nothing rubbed off on my dress. And it didn't. As Skinsheen uses special polymers (with silicone) to adhere better to skin, it is important to not moisturize before using the product. Leaving legs au natural will help the product glide onto skin and adhere to it better. I love Skinsheen as a Leg Spray and it is very worth the extra effort of rubbing it neatly over legs and waiting for it to dry. Once the product is dry, it lasts a very long time and really needs a good washing with warm water and soap to be removed. Remember that the end result is a sheen, not a full on fake-bake bronzer. Medium-Dark left me with a slight tint to my starch white legs, like I said, but a beautiful glow. I just tested Deep Dark and I think that will be the way to go for my legs to look more bronzed. So choose your colors wisely. If you want just a nice sheen and glowy effect, the lighter shade will probably work just fine, but if you are looking for more of a tinted bronzy color, try Dark or Deep Dark.

  • Redpoint Airbrush Effects Blushwhip

Blush is a tricky thing in the Summer. Well, I guess that makeup as a whole can be tricky in the Summer. Especially powder products. I don't want to look too matte or toned and perfect faced. I rather a bit of my faux tan show through, accented with some pretty Summer colors. Peachy bronzed cheeks look so pretty - but not dirty or over kill with the sparkle. Like a glow. This is what I get from this wonderful whipped blush. Redpoint Airbrush Effects Blushwhip is almost as it says. It is a gel feeling type of cream, that feels almost like a light and fluffy whipped texture when spreading out over cheeks. I love to smoothe this out over my cheeks right after a tinted moisturizer. My cheeks look natural, glowy, with just a hint of color. It is buildable, so if you want a bit more color, add on some bronzer over the Blushwhip, and then blend just a dab or two spread back on the apples of the cheeks. Be careful if you use it this way though, as sometimes a creamy product over a powder does not blend very well. But if you only use a bit of the blushwhip and do it quickly, while using a blending sponge, it can be really beautiful. A beautiful Summer cheek. I am loving the Glow Peachy-Pink shade, but this blush also comes in Vida Rosy-Pink for more cool complexions. This sells for $28 in it's beautiful jar and metallic red cap over at Redpoint Beauty.

  • Clinique Work-Out Makeup All Day Wear

Clinique Work-Out Makeup All Day Wear

    Great Coverage & Wear!

"Long-lasting makeup for all skin types. Water-resistant. Stays fresh-looking through heat, humidity, activity. Semi-matte finish". Work-Out Makeup provides more coverage than Almost Makeup, but without being a full-on heavy duty coverage type. If you are one to wear makeup to the beach or pool, or perhaps you like a makeup to take the place of your faux-tan, then this one would be a better choice. Sadly, Work-out Makeup only comes in five shades, and the darker shades are not in the line up. This is such a shame as I really think that this makeup really suits it purpose and I know a woman or two that would really love it, if only darker tan shades were available.
