  • Yves Saint Laurent Beauty Parisienne Eau de Parfum Spray

As soon as I opened the box, I liked the packaging. It's very sophisticated with a prism like cut to the lavendar colored glass bottle. I definitely wouldn't mind putting this on top of my vanity. I like to spray a few spritzes in my hair so that the scent lasts longer. To me, the scent was floral and rosey but with an edge of fruit and exoticness. I'm used to liking girly, fruity sweet smells...but I actually really liked this. It's more mature but still fresh and definitely sexy. It's not like anything else out there on the market. The scent lasts a good while and even seems to change and evolve over time. I knew the boyfriend loved it because he couldn't stop sniffing me! He kept saying, "Look at you smelling like a grown woman!" LOL! This is also very reasonably priced ranging from $39 to $85 depending on the size. I would definitely recommend testing this one out.

  • L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black Mascara

Pros: - It lengthens as advertised. - One coat is sufficient to get the length that you need. - The actual mascara can stand up on its own due to its wide base. Cons: - Since the ball on the tip of the wand is small, you have to almost wipe on each individual lash. This is is somewhat time consuming and tedious. - You have to be careful when applying the mascara as it tends to get clumpy. - Due to the small size of the ball, it’s harder to apply on the bottom lashes. I think it’s because there is less surface area longwise that makes it more difficult to apply on the smaller lower lash line. Would You Purchase Again? No, I would not repurchase but because what I want out of mascara is moreso volume than lengthening.

  • L'Oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Makeup

L'Oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Makeup

    Impressive for a drugstore foundation

I'm always in search for a bargain, and recently I had the opportunity to try out L'Oreal's True Match foundation. I picked out my color using a clear card with the different foundation shades. I held it over my jaw and picked the closest match. Color Matching Upon receiving the foundation, I noticed I was a little bit off. The foundation is a tad too "beigy" and light for me. I think that there's probably a shade more fitting out of their many options available. However, by setting this foundation with my MAC MSF in medium dark, I was able to correct the color. Application The product goes on really smooth. I was pretty impressed by this drug store foundation. I'm used to using mainly MAC and other professional brands so I wasn't quite sure that this one could compete. However, this definitely reminds me of MAC studio fix fluid. As you can see by the picture it has a very nice finish. You'd still need to wear concealer to correct any undereye problems though. Staying Power The foundation lasts pretty good on my normal/dry skin. However like any liquid foundation, to get it to last, you'll need to use a primer and set it with powder. I had no weird allergic reactions or breaking out, which is a plus! Overall Thoughts I actually really like this foundation. It's very affordable and can be found easily at your local drugstore. It looks great on the skin. I would suggest getting this when you see it BOGO so you can get two shades in case you're a little off with matching. That way, you can mix and match and you'll also have two shades to carry through your pale days in the winter and tanner days in the summer. I'd say this is actually comparable to the Revlon Colorstay foundation. I definitely recommend!

  • L'Oreal Paris EverPure UV Protection Spray

Purpose: The Everpure UV Protect is a spray meant to product the hair from harmful UV rays which cause damage and fading of color. Just like the skin, our hair needs sun protection as well. My Thoughts Where was this product a year ago when I went to Costa Rica? Around this same time last year, I was scouring the beauty aisles for a sunblock product for my hair. I color my hair year round, and I didn't want my hair turning brassy from being on the beaches. It was really really hard for me to find something! I ended up with a tiny, oversized Paul Mitchell product which didn't even seem like it was meant for sun protection. After Application I've used this a few times in my hair and it has a herbal, clean scent. It's almost like spraying water into my hair. I don't notice any heavy residue - which is a good thing! I think I'd really notice a difference if I took this with me on a tropical vacation. It's been super overcast in Atlanta lately, so I haven't noticed too much of a difference. However, I'm very glad this product is finally on the market. If I wasn't super lazy, I would use this daily...I bet it would really help the color in my hair last. Would I re-purchase again? It's a pretty big bottle so it should last me a while...but I would definitely recommend using this if you have colored hair or if you're a beach bunny :)

  • L'Oreal Paris Extra-Volume Hydra Collagen Plumping Mascara
    8.0

L'Oreal Paris Extra-Volume Hydra Collagen Plumping Mascara

finally a drugstore mascara that works!

pros: - it definitely volumizes eyelashes - it also lengthens them - it gives a thick and full eyelash look - it does not smudge or smear even after working out - cardio and sweating - easy to take off with make up remover - handle is easy to hold - i like the sleek, shiny look of the tube cons: - it gets a bit clumpy on the wand after 4-5 uses. However, when I took off the excess with a tissue, the mascara glided on my eyelashes much easier. - since the mascara is somewhat thick, I am thinking maybe because of the collagen content, you have to be meticulous when applying or it will clump up a little. You have to consciously use the wand so that it goes across the eyelashes evenly. But once you do that, it looks great!

  • Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Mousse

I had high hopes for this, but it didn't really do anything for me. I followed the directions - applied it to my damp hair and scrunched...no success. For straight thick haired girls like me, you can skip.

  • L'Oreal Paris HiP Studio Secrets Professional Kohl Eyeliner

Another cool new product from L'Oreal HIP are these kohl eyeliners. The applicator is a stiff felt tip which applies the loose pigment stored in the jar. The colors Navy and Gold are extremely wearable and in style for this season. I decided to be Santa for a day and gave some of these Kohl liners to my friends, they loved it! Check out what I like and dislike about the product below: PROS -Easy to apply -Vibrant color payoff CONS -There is a bit of fallout after applying the product. Make sure to shake the excess powder off the applicator when you apply. -The large applicator might not apply the thinnest line.

  • L'Oreal Paris HiP Studio Secrets Professional Color Presso

How cool is this product? When you take off the cap, you have a slanted tip applicator with two holes to dispense the two different lip colors. The glosses are housed in squeezy type tubes. You can wear each individually or squeeze both sides at once and wear a combo of both. That's 3 glosses in one if you think about it. PROS -You have 3 ways to wear this product -Yummy Caramel scent -Affordable and easily available in most drug stores -Color is very work friendly...not too intense, perfect for daytime and class as well CONS -The colors are a little bit on the sheer side -Might be difficult to press both sides at once to get a mix of the shades. -Instead of a shiny gloss, this has more shimmers which some may or may not prefer -The cap was a little difficult to get off. I expected to twist it, but you have to pop it off. The first time I got it off, it popped off 5 feet in front of me, lol. In sum, I would get one to try just because of the concept, but probably wouldn't repurchase.

  • Max Factor Vivid Impact Lip Color

I tried out the color in shade 028. After applying it I was surprised at how super moisturizing it is...after looking at the ingredients I saw why...Shea Butter! This magical ingredient makes such a difference. It even felt more moisturizing than MAC slimshines. The Shea butter also acts like a lip balm so it seals in the moisture making the lipstick have the longevity of a long-wear product...Nice! The only thing is that I didn't like the way the color I had looked on my lips. There's nothing wrong with the product itself, but I had the wrong color for my lips and skin tone. After pondering over this for a bit, I decided to give it another go. I added a more vibrant lip pencil and voila! Problem solved!

  • Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper
    7.0

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper

    Pretty good...could have more volume

Application process...easy to use? It was easy. the mascara went on smoothly. there was minimal "gunk" or extra mascara on the brush. Brush Type...too big, too small...easy to use? The brush size was easy to hold and comfortable. I liked how you could put the bottle in an upright position when you put it down while you are applying. I like to think it might be more hygenic to have it standing upright so the opening of the bottle is as far as possible from the table or bathroom sink. Easy to remove? It was easy to remove with makeup remover and just washing your face in the shower. Pros Went on smoothly, glided on my eyelashes, separated and elongated my eyelashes. no gunk or clumping together. Cons It does volumize a bit, but perhaps my personal preference is for more volume. Would you buy again? Yes! My fav thus far for mascaras in this price range!
