  • Gillette Venus ProSkin MoistureRich Razor

I go back and forth from cheapie razors to Venus, sometimes i just can't bare to spend so much on a razor (usually during the winter when i'm less likely to shave anyway lol) But since it's summer, i thought i'd try this new addition to the Venus family. I was stoked that i wouldn't need a shave cream, and while the texture of the gel moisture strips is kinda funky, it does work to give great slip and washes away clean with no dry skin. I agree with another reviewer that it doesn't seem like it gives as close a shave as the embrace razors. But my skin hasn't had a reaction to it, and i like that it's a two in one product so i'll probably buy more razor heads when the two that came with the handle run out.

  • Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin

This is my favorite hair styling tool next to the no slip grip hair claw. Makes a casual bun, or a slightly messy bun and keeps it's hold excellently. It never gets tangled which at first glance i totally thought it would. They just slide right in or out, no snagging or knots. I carry a pair in my purse at all times in case i need a quick updo,. It's also a hair saver if you have long hair; twist your hair up at night to keep it from getting dried out and kinked on your pillows while you sleep. And yet another bonus, you wake up with gorgeous waves.

    SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5

    Love retinol, hate this formula.

This was my first venture into retinol. I loved how it cleared my skin at first, but sadly about a week into my first bottle I started getting deep, painful zits, which i don't normally get. A closer look at the ingredients would show soybean oil as the likely culprit. The underskin-demons subsided after i stopped using this and I had to find another brand that offered a retinol cream/lotion without any pore clogging ingredients.

  • MD Formulations Moisture Defense Antioxidant Spray

I'm super stoked this hasn't broken me out. While my skin is super oily, it tends to be tight right after cleansing and during the winter. This gives INSTANT relief to dry skin. I love that i don't have to touch my face and that i don't need to apply a lotion. It has a slight soapy smell that fades really quickly. The bottle is HUGE and lasts forever. I'm really shocked this is made by bareminerals, the majority of their skincare sucks. i chose this particular moisturizing spray for it's skin benefits and lack of poreclogging ingredients. It does suck that it contains parabens though :/

  • Astara Blue Flame Purifying Toning Mist

Astara Blue Flame Purifying Toning Mist

    If you can afford it....

I adore this stuff! But it's so freakin expensive. I use it after i cleanse, after using pore strips to close my pores, and throughout the day after blotting to fight oil and breakouts. It's been a life saver this summer so far. I usually breakout way more from the heat and sweating. But i poured this toner into a smaller spray bottle i tote around wth me and mist my face throughtout the day. I like that Astara cold processes they're ingredients (think of what happens to vegetables when you overcook them!) It has an earthy scent that fades quickly. It hasn't dried out or irritated my skin. I just love i can spritz my skin and gently disinfect it anytime (like after talking on the phone or working out). One bottle lasts me about a month, but i use it A LOT. I took one star off for the price.

  • Softlips Lip Protectant/Sunscreen SPF 20

ok i know some of you are reading the subject line going "Why would this cause breakouts? It doens't go on your face!" But it's true, everytime i wear this stuff i get zits around my lips (super gross) If you react to chemical sunscreens stay away. It also contains Myristyl Lactate, Myristyl Laurate, and Myristyl Myristate which are all pore cloggers. The smells is good but it's super thin and wears away quickly. I want a lip sunscreen i can apply and not worry about for the rest of my beach day.

  • SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF

    SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF

    Wonderful wonderful wonderful!!!

After reading the product and regime reccommendations in The Skin Type Solution, i started using this along with retinol and SkinCeuticals Phyto+ serum. The difference in my skin is AMAZING. Spots gone, pores teeny tiny, my skin is smooth, even and bright. All the girls at work keep asking me for my "secret" :) For those of you who are scared away by the price, there is a company that makes some of the skinceuticals serums for less than half the price, and they work just as good! Cosmetic Skin Solutions, i'm glad i found them or i wouldn't have been able to keep up this great skin! A bottle lasts forever, it only takes 4-5 drops and once it's absorbed it can't come off! They market this as a preventative product but i've seen huge results in less than a month, it's been a corrective product as well!

    Skinceuticals Phyto +

    Oooo, ahhhhh!

This has done wonders to help remove old acne scars and brown spots. I use this with skinceuticals retinol and i haven't experienced any breakouts like other reviewers have reported. It reduces redness and irritation from breakouts and skin treatments. It's also moisturizing enough that i don't need to use a lotion afterwards (one less thing to buy!) BTW for those of us on a budget there's a great company that makes the same serums Skinceuticals makes for less then half the price and they work just as great! Check them out: Cosmetic skin solutions.

  • Lancome Definicils High Definition Mascara
    7.0

    Lancome Definicils High Definition Mascara

Great, if all you want is length.

This really didn't live up to the hype. It's really good at lengthening lashes but does nothing for volume. The formula is clumpy; it takes tons of swipes to work the clumps out. On the plus side, it never smudges or flakes and the formula is super black. But i really don't see why this costs so much.

  • Maybelline New York Full 'N Soft Waterproof Mascara

I love that this mascara makes lashes darker and fuller without over doing it. It's not totally waterproof though, after a hot day i had smudges under my eyes, i don't think it would hold up at the beach or pool. It hasn't flaked on me, but it never clumps. Great price too, i've never seen it for over $5.
