    Shu Uemura Drawing Lip Pencil

Perfect! Silky and moisturizing at the same time

I have this lip pencil in Nude 949, and I want to preface this by saying that I usually hate lip pencils and I never buy them because I am afraid that as the day goes on it will wear off and I'll end up with a really nasty outlined lip look. But this pencil is perfect for my day makeup when I want to keep my lips very understated but I still want them to have some color. I fill in my lips with this pencil, and I find that it blends seamlessly into my lips and also feels very moisturizing at the same time. It also has very good staying power as I find that it still goes strong at the end of the day. I sweep a clear or light-pink colored gloss over it and I'm ready to go! Wonderful lip pencil and I definitely recommend it :)

    Shu Uemura Glow On

    Love the natural pink glow!

I have the P Pink 30 blush which is pretty popular. And I have to say that I absolutely adore it. It is very highly pigmented, so I usually just dab my brush in it once, and swipe it on my cheeks and I get this nice natural pink glow. It really looks like I am naturally blushing, and not like I purposely put makeup on. It lasts very nicely throughout the day, especially if you applied it on top of powder. A word of warning: use a VERY VERY light hand! I literally just press my brush into the blush once and only once. Then I very lightly sweep it onto the apples of my cheeks. If you find that there isn't enough color, you can always add more, but if you used too much, it's a really really huge pain trying to cover up the pigment. Also, I just purchased the M Peach 44, and even the SA at Shu would not stop raving about it. Like all of Shu's blushes, this one is highly pigmented, so you really only need a little bit to achieve a nice peachy glow. It is a very versatile shade that is great for day or evening wear, and will go well with any type of eye makeup. Definitely a staple in my makeup routine, and I find myself reaching for the M Peach 44 whenever I want to go for a fresh natural look, and for the P Pink 30 when I need something a little more flashy.

  • Shu Uemura Depsea Water Facial Mist
    10.0

Shu Uemura Depsea Water Facial Mist

    Amazing Must-Have Product!

The Depsea Water is really the tops. I absolutely love it and don't know what I would do without it. I received my first bottle of Depsea Water as a gift with a purchase, so it was a small travel-size bottle in Lavender. I fell in love with it immediately. It really hydrates my skin and I see a noticeable difference when I use it and when I don't. Not only that but it just feels so amazing going on my face that I can't help but want to spray it every five seconds. When I ran out of my Depsea Water, I decided to try MAC's Fix+ because it had gotten such great reviews and seemed to have a cult following. I HATED IT. It was a terrible product (see my review on it for more details), and as soon as I tried it I regretted not just repurchasing my Depsea Water. I now have the full size bottle in Chamomile, which is this amazing lightly-scented fruit smell. It doesn't smell overly strong, it's just perfect. I use this spray right before I put on my toner and moisturizer during the day, and it's fantastic for setting your makeup. It leaves no film, and it doesn't give you an overly dewy or oily face--it just really replenishes the moisture in your skin and the results are very noticeable. My makeup goes on so much smoother, and let me say that this is a terrific product to keep in your purse and spritz whenever you're feeling a bit tired and need a pick-me-up. It's $24 for a 150 mL bottle, which I find is really reasonable because it will last you forever.

  • Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

    Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

If you don't have this, you are missing out.

I truly believe that this is hands down the BEST investment any gal can make in terms of cosmetics. Shu's curler is truly legendary, and not without good reason. This eyelash curler is capable of delivering the perfect curl, no matter how short or straight your lashes may be. Many people may think that it's ridiculous to spend that much money on an eyelash curler, but the difference between Shu's curler and the ones you can get from drugstores is that the Shu is perfectly contoured in every single bend and hinge to ensure that you get the most out of your curler. It fits your lid perfectly so that you don't have to ever worry about the curler pinching your skin. The handles are extremely high quality and you can just TELL when you use this mascara that it was designed with a lot of care and constructed with the best materials. It is also very durable, and I have used this every day for the past two years and still did not need a replacement. You just need to pump it lightly and walk the curler up from the base of your lashes to the ends and tada!! You have perfectly curled lashes! Swipe on some Shu Mascara Basic and you are good to go!!! I love this curler and you would be punishing yourself if you didn't go out and get one right now!!

  • MAC Fix+
    1.0

    MAC Fix+

dewy and moisturized? more like greasy and disgusting.

I was very excited to try this product since it had gotten so many rave reviews, but I have to say I was extremely disappointed. I tried Fix+ in a variety of ways--spraying it before I applied my moisturizer, spraying it after I applied moisturizer but before I put on foundation, spraying it after foundation to set it... No matter what I did, my face ALWAYS ended up looking extremely oily and gross! And I don't even have oily skin to begin with, so this really bothered me. I couldn't figure out why suddenly my face looked so glossy and nasty, and then I realized it was the Fix+. I really didn't want to believe it because I wanted to love this product, but unfortunately it just made my face look disgusting and oily. Before Fix+, I always just used Shu Uemura's Depsea Facial Mist. I got a bunch of the small travel size ones as gifts for purchasing above a certain amount at the Shu counters in Taiwan, but I ran out of them and so that's why I decided to give Fix+ a try. BAD IDEA. Shu's facial mists are SOOO much better, and the scents are much more pleasing. (The lavender scent one is the BEST!) Also, they do a much better job of hydrating my skin than Fix+, AND most importantly they set my makeup really well without giving me that dirty gross oily look that I get with Fix+. The Shu facial mist might be a tad more expensive than MAC Fix+, but I think it's totally worth it. Ugh I am so disappointed by this MAC product! Terrible Terrible Terrible! Oh, and I also didn't spray a lot. I spray Fix+ at arms-length away from my face, with just one spritz that goes on evenly all over. So there's no excuse for my face to look so gross!!!

  • Clinique Moisture Sheer Tint SPF 15

Clinique Moisture Sheer Tint SPF 15

    makes me turn orange.

Feh. That's what I have to say about this product: just feh. What I like about it is that it feels really nice going on my face. There's a light scent (even though I thought Clinique products were supposed to be scent-free? Oh well I like the smell) and when I apply this tinted moisturizer my skin just feels so good. Unfortunately, the other reviews are spot-on in saying that it goes on well but then turns orange soon after. I am very pale, and I purchased the lightest shade, but it still made my skin darker. So while I continue to use it because I love how it feels on my face, it kind of defeats the purpose of being a tinted moisturizer if it ends up making me look like an Ooompa Loompa. I wasn't looking for anything that had a lot of coverage--just something light and simple that would moisturize my face at the same time. Sadly, this product fell short, so I'll continue to finish using my tube, but after it's done I'm not going to be repurchasing. One note though: when I bought this tinted moisturizer the SA at the Clinique counter told me to apply it with a brush. I always used a wet sponge to apply my foundation, but I gave in and bought Clinique's foundation brush because I figured it would help the makeup go on better. It does help in saving product, so I would suggest that if you were to try this tinted moisturizer that you use a foundation brush to apply it since you get much better results that way.

  • Shu Uemura Mascara Basic

    Shu Uemura Mascara Basic

    best mascara out there!

HG! HG! HG!!!! I absolutely LOVE this mascara. I don't know why I waited so long to do a review on it, since it's hands down one of the best mascaras out there, and I've tried A LOT. MAC, Shiseido, Estee Lauder, Lancome, Chanel, Givenchy, and yes even the almighty Diorshow...none of them even begin to compare to the results I get with Shu's Mascara Basic. I think this mascara is a godsend for Asian lashes which tend to be short and stick straight. After curling my lashes with Shu's curler, I just swipe on this mascara, and my lashes look gorgeous. This is the only mascara out there that holds the curl in my lashes the entire day. And when my lashes are curled, my entire eye just pops and looks awake and lively, even if I only got two hours of sleep the night before. It's not a lengthening mascara, or a voluminizing mascara, it's just very basic. It's fabulous for a day-time look or for going to work: at night when I'm going out and I'd like my eyes to be a little more dramatic, I still use the Mascara Basic as a base to hold the curl in my lashes, and then I'll use a lengthening/voluminizing mascara over it. It lengthens my lashes BUT still keeps the curl (which is so incredibly important) and doesn't clump. If I just use the lengthen/voluminize mascaraby itself then my lashes look like spider legs. But with the Mascara Basic on as a base, I can apply any mascara and still have great-looking lashes. I LOVE this product and I use it every day without fail.
