Here are all my reviews:
  • Sephora + Pantone Color IQ

Every time i've had my skin tone checked i've gotten a radically different result. I've even had recommended foundations that were very obviously too dark for my complexion. This may work for some people, but it sure didn't for me. I am much better off using my common sense and testing samples.

    Nars Blush

    NARS nails it

I shied away from blush until i found the right brush (MAC 188) - it makes every NARS blush better. For a warm look i use Deep Throat - similar to Org asm with less shimmer. For a cool look, i'm loving Gaiety - it looks so bright in the pan, but it goes on looking natural. I have 5 different NARS blushes, and more on my wish list.

  • Lancome Renergie Lift Makeup

I tried dozens from Chanel to Revlon. This goes on creamy, gives excellent medium coverage, doesn't settle into fine lines, & lasts 12 hours without making me look like a mummy! And unlike others, it matches my skin tone!

  • Benefit Coralista
    9.0

    Benefit Coralista

    Coralista Convert

I've never purchased a benefit blush, because they all look far too intense for me, except dandelion, which looks too pale. But i read good things about them, and a deluxe sample of CORALista gave me the opportunity to check one out. After prepping and priming my face, i lightly brushed some CORALista high on my cheekbones (never on the apples of *my* cheeks). And i was amazed! Rather than looking clownishly bright, it added nice sheer warmth with a slight hint of highlighting gold shimmer. And it lasted for at least 6 hours. In the box, CORALista looks like a POW! of coral red-orange with golden frost, but the coverage really is quite controllable. It can go on sheer, giving a soft pinky-peach glow, as i prefer on my pale skin, without too much shimmer and, thankfully, NO glitter! And it is buildable for anyone who wants more color and shimmer. Most of the other benefit products i've tried have been less than satisfactory. But CORALisata is surprisingly good! Plus there is nearly twice (.28 oz) as much as NARS blush (.16 oz) for nearly the same price.

  • Garnier Nutri-Pure Detoxifying Wet Cleansing Towelettes

I tried many HE & DS moist facial wipes. These don't smell as good as some HE, but much better than other DS brands (Olay? P U!) + the ingredients are very similar to many HE brands & these are way cheaper. They're moist, get off nearly all makeup, & don't irritate my skin. My favorite is Josie Maran Baar Naked Wipes, but they're $$, so i am content to use Garnier most nights.

  • Physicians Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Eye Makeup Remover Pads

I tried many HE & DS products & was happy to find these. They remove eye makeup & mascara well, tho i need 2 to get off glitter eye liner. They smell delightful, don't irritate my eyes or eye lids, & the can is cute :-) In 2010 the container was changed to a plastic bag w/ pull up tab, typical of many wipes. They're always in my makeup kit.

    bareMinerals SPF 20 Concealer

OK On Face, Lousy Under Eye

This product does a pretty good job of covering my facial discolorations. However, it is far from long lasting. And it is terrible on my undereye area, accenting the crepey skin and every line.

  • Bulgari BVLGARI Omnia Eau de Parfum Spray

This is a sophisticated and complex perfume that doesnt smell of fruit or flowers. Top notes are ginger, mandarin orange, saffron, pepper and cardamom. Heart notes are nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, almond, masala chai and lotus. Base notes are sandalwood, tonka bean, white chocolate, guaiac wood and woody notes. This sounded fantastic, so I got a generous tester and tried it multiple times. Sometimes i loved the dry spicy scent without a hint of sweetness, and sometimes it smelled like nasty Rite Guard. I figured out that doesnt work on cold days, but needs a little warmth to develop the rich deep spicy scent. Finally i gave in and bought a bought a bottle. This scent has to be worn with confidence, because it is unlike any other.

  • Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette
    7.0

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette

Not Bad, But Nuthin' Terribly Special

Inoffensive, light, and sweet, without being cheesy, Daisy is a fragrance that doesn't stand out in a crowd. It is good for summer days or the office when you want to wear scent, but don't want to startle anyone's nose. It is even innocent, which makes it suitable for young teens, but it is of good quality, which is more than i can say for many celebrity branded fragrances. I wear it when our musical ensemble performs and when the weather is hot.
