  • Clean & Clear Essentials Deep Cleaning Astringent

this didn't do anything for my acne; i think it made it worse. it says it's gentle, but i don't have sensitive skin, and it still caused redness.

  • bareMinerals Prime Time Brightening Foundation Primer

i like this. but i think it could be better in shrinking the pores, combating dry flakes, going over blemishes, etc. but i guess there's no miracle product out there to give you new skin in a bottle unfortunately. so i think that primers are wayy overrated in that sense, claiming it will erase all your skin flaws. the first time i used i thought it did nothing but smooth my skin, because my makeup still slid off during the day. but then i tried it again, and i guess leaving it on your skin for 5-8 minutes before your makeup really helps your face stay shine free.

  • L'Oreal Paris HiP High Intensity Pigments Cream Shadow Paint

i really love this. it's tough trying to find an eye primer at the drugstore, and i think this is great because it serves as a base that helps your eyeshadow appear more pigmented and it kept my eye shadow on for almost the whole day. but my favorite thing about this product is the value. though the product is small in size, you only need to use a small amount. i used it everyday and it lasted 5 months or longer. people say this does not compare to a mac paint or paint pot and i disagree. the only difference i think is the consistency and shade range. i wish l'oreal would come out with more colors, but i love the quality of this product. definitely worth the price.

  • NYX Cosmetics Extra Creamy Round Lipstick

first of all, i think these round lipsticks deserve 3 stars just for the color range. there are so many choices that can create so many different kinds of looks. for the everyday look, i prefer a nude lip and thalia topped with carmex or a clear lipgloss is my favorite combination. thalia appears pinkish/purple alone, but it really brings life to my lips. i also love the circe under a pink gloss. the pigmentation is unbeatable and the so is the price. my one gripe about these lipsticks is that they do dry out my lips. i don't mind touching up during the day, so it's not too much of a hassle, but it is something that can get irritating. the lipsticks are matte and i have been using mine everyday for 2 months and it's half-way done. since these lipsticks have so much pigmentation, i suggest dabbing it on little by little.

  • CoverGirl Clean Liquid Makeup, Oil Control

i really didn't like this foundation. i thought it sounded perfect for my acne-prone, oily skin. it claims to control oil, to not cause breakouts, and feel as if your skin is clean and not wearing any makeup. it didn't do any of those things for me. i dislike the packaging. the makeup is hard to get out, so it's easy to waste a lot of it and make a mess. my skin was an oil slick after 30 minutes of applying it & i was still breaking out after a month of using it. i think this foundation is a waste of time. granted it's cheap, but i don't think it's worth the 5 dollars i paid for it.

  • Benefit Dr. Feelgood

okay .. let me just give a little bg info on my skin. it\'s really acne prone, which is now damaged because of all the products i have tried for years to get the clear face i was clearly not meant to have. (won't give up looking for a product tho!) and along with the acne, came the redness, discoloration, and scars left behind. i will get mad if i talk about my natural skin any longer .. soo .. onto the long and hard road of trying to find makeup that can decently cover it. when i was younger, i used powder, cream, liquid, pressed, any type of foundation out there .. drugstore, department store .. it didn't matter .. they all made me look shiny, accentuated dry spots, were hard to blend, so i finally found a cheap drugstore mineral makeup that worked pretty nicely. but of course it just couldn't keep my face shine free after a couple of hours and my makeup usually ended up sliding off my face by mid-day. i bought the dr. feelgood because it was the cheapest primer i could find and the lady who sold it to me said after a couple uses it would get used to your skin, keeping the shine away. and i felt a sense of comfort because it wasn't those types of primers you couldn't take with you to do a few touch ups during the day. and after a week, i really felt like my skin was responding well to it, only having to touch up a couple of times a day. it it's rare that i actually buy something that i don't end up leaving in the back of my makeup drawer because it didn't do anything positive to my skin. buttt .. i use this all the time. pros: the smell (if you like soothing, minty scents), how well the product works, how long the product lasts (i use it every day, it's lasted 6 months, half the jar is gone), the easy application, doesn't make me breakout! cons: the container (i will never understand why they didn't incorporate a cap to lock the product), it messes up your foundation if used after putting on makeup, there isn't a separate place for the sponge, the fact that the most convenient way to get this is at a department store with annoying associates. bottom line: i really like this product .. the whole "shrinking pores, gives you flawless skin" claim isn't true, unless you have minor imperfections, but it's able to get rid of the shine and give you a healthy glow all at the same time. i think this product is worth a try.

  • Milani Loose Makeup

i love the coverage on this and the value! it lasts for months. i don't use the brush attached though because i feel it's too small. and in order to give myself more coverage, i use the foundation wet (spritzing my brush with water or any foundation setter before swirling it into the foundation). in all honesty, if you have a big breakout, it will not make your skin appear flawless. however, it makes it appear close enough ;) i also must use a primer over it because it won't last through out the day if i didn't.

  • Maybelline New York Great Lash Washable Mascara

this was one of my first mascaras i had ever tried. and i remember thinking why everyone thought it was so great because it didn't give me "great lashes." lol. but then i thought of all those lucky people who just need a mascara to define their already long lashes. what this mascara did for my short, thin lashes, was add a little color and maybe a little length. the brush is skinny, which my lashes never respond to. overall, i believe this mascara can work for those looking for a more natural look.

  • CoverGirl TRUblend Liquid Makeup
    6.0

    CoverGirl TRUblend Liquid Makeup

good for people with normal skin

i'm not a liquid foundation fan because my skin doesn't react well to it and it leaves my dry spots very noticeable ... but if you have normal skin and just feel like wearing a light weight, sheer foundation, i think this will work really well for you. the shade range is great and as long as you get close to your skin tone, it will melt into your skin and give you that natural, not wearing any foundation look. the bottle lasts a couple of months, so i think the price is decent. bottom line, i have extremely oily skin, so really no foundation stays put on my face.

  • Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo

it's about time this line came out ... i don't know how many shampoos i've tried that claimed to smooth my damaged hair, but instead did nothing. this is probably one of the first shampoos i've bought more than twice. i like to style my hair a lot, so my hair is really damaged, but this was able to lessen it and didn't make me feel guilty about styling my hair. i wanted to see if i could tell the difference it made on my hair, so i went a day without using it and my hair definitely felt and appeared more brittle.
