    Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer

    Pricey but worth it!

I agree with previous reviews- this product serves well as an eye concealer. It really does a great job of concealing dark circles and brightening the eye area. I have terrible scarring from years of acne and this product really does conceal without clogging. I have extremely sensitive skin, so that's really important for me. I don't use it every day though, so perhaps that's why I don't break out from it. It feels a tad cakey to me, but it does its job. I think I picked a shade that was too light, but that's my own fault for not seeing a professional first, which I absolutely advise for concealers and foundations! It's expensive, but it lasts a while, because you need not apply a pound per use. A little bit goes a long way.

    Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

    NOT good for sensitive skin

Product felt amazing after initial application. It left a velvety resin on my skin. However, it only made my face feel incredibly greasy after an hour. My colorstay foundation would NOT stay and was "slippery," for lack of a better term. I have acne prone skin, and this aggravated it by clogging my pores. I recommend this for folks who have sturdier skin. Thankfully, I bought the smaller travel size. I believe they have a variation of this product for sensitive skin (an oil-free version), but I'm afraid I've been turned off from any further experimentation with primers from Smashbox for fear of breakouts.

  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer

Seriously, this has to be the best lid primer I've tried. The tube lasts forever, as you only need the tiniest smidge of product for each lid. I used the Benefit primer before this one, and it just doesn't compare. My shadows are locked in place after a little Too Faced (rhyme not intended). It lasts for at least 8 hours. I believe it's also a bit cheaper than other high end primers.

    Dior Diorshow Mascara

    Love at first sight

When I purchased this mascara and tried it on, I loved it. My lashes were plumped and drastically lengthened. After a few months though, I realized perhaps I fell in love with the name more than anything. The chunky wand was initially an awesome idea, but after a while, I noticed it was cumbersome to maneuver through eyelashes. Clumping became an issue for me. Maybe because I have tiny eyes, I should try a slimmer wand. It does a slightly better job than most other mascaras, but I have to balk at the price tag. It seems as though my rating and description contradict each other. But don't be mistaken- I highly recommend this mascara. It's probably one of the better ones available.

Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner

Best eyeliner for me as of yet

I have the greasiest eyelids known to man. I call it the "crisco effect." It's always been a challenge for me to find the perfect eyeliner that doesn't smudge and can maintain its color. Pencils have never worked for me as they smudge almost instantly (not in the sexy smokey eye way) especially with copious buckets of sweat I expel on a daily basis. To avoid looking too heroin chic, I opt for liquid liners which allow for cleaner, sharper lines. But even among these, there are duds. After many trial-and-errors at Sephora, I finally stumbled upon this liner. Most liners have the tendency to smudge away or even completely disappear within an hour. However, this one doesn't budge. Only after about a full work day does the product flake, but even then it's just a tiny bit. In general though, it's a pretty solid buy. It's worth every penny, especially if you have lids that are practically oil slicks. My only complaint would be the awkward application. The wand is too long and the product often gets caught in my lashes, making them clumpy and difficult to evenly distribute mascara. But that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for the perfect cat eye.
