Vaseline Petroleum Jelly
I was invited to do a test drive for Vaseline by Totalbeauty. I wasn't sure which Vaseline product I was going to try out to review, and then I received my box of goodies. When I opened the box, I had to smile. Vaseline Petroleum Jelly has been something I have seen in my grandmother's, my mother's, and now my medicine chest. I have been using Vaseline for as long as I can remember for so many things because it is so effective for so many things. I live in Michigan, born in Saulte Ste. Marie. As a child, my mom smeared it on my face, lips, and hands when I went out to play in the winter. My grandmothers both would use it on me for minor skin irritation as well as protection. As an adult, it is still my go to product for my hands and cuticles at night as well as my feet. In the winter, I smooth it all over my body after my bath or shower to keep dry skin at bay. I always have a small pot of it in my hand bag for my lips and hands. I use it on my knees and elbows to keep them from being dry, and after shaving my legs, it soothes. I don't ever get razor burn. Included in the box of goodies was a large Vaseline tub with cards that had many hints, and I have tried the hints I never thought about using Vaseline for. I mixed the Sea Salt with the Vaseline to create a scrub, and my skin was so smooth after that I plan on doing it instead of buying a premixed salt scrub for exfoliation from now on. I also put it on my hands and put a pair of lightweight gloves on before I put my gardening gloves on. It's like a mini spa treatment when I get finished with my gardening. I also do the same thing when I do dishes, Vaseline, white cotton gloves, and then my rubber gloves. The heat from the dish water really makes the moisturizing action more effective. I can't imagine not having a tub of Vaseline in my home ever. Three generations of women in my family have used it, and it hasn't let me down yet. Even though I am reviewing it for humans, my vet told me to put it on the pads of my dogs paws in the winter to protect from the cold as well as salt. I have to say my girls have the softest pads on their paws as well. They haven't had ice melt burns on their paws since I started doing this, and their pads don't crack from the extreme cold either. Vaseline has so many uses, and you can't beat the price for all of the things you can use it for. This was such a nice product to review for Totalbeauty because I already use it and love it for all the different things I use it for.

Paul Mitchell Freeze and Shine
Back in the day, the eighties for me, this was my go to spray. I have fine dense hair, and back then, the bigger the better, When I went clubbing and dancing, this kept my hair looking great, and you would think that it would be a product that would leave buildup, but it doesn't. It rinses out with water, and it actually does freeze your style, and the shine is amazing. I don't mind the stiff hold it imparts when I need it, and it actually has a sunscreen. No more sun faded colored hair for me. After all these years, it is still in rotation, and I recommend it to many friends and family.

Sebastian Shaper Plus
I was introduced to this hairspray in 1995, and I have to say it is one of my all time favorites. I have fine hair, but it is quite dense. In the summer, the humidity in Michigan is off the charts, but I can always trust Shaper to keep my hair in place. It isn't sticky, and it hasn't ever weighed my hair down. It also doesn't leave build up. It hasn't failed me yet, even after all these years.

St. Tropez Tan Applicator Mitt for Face
I just bought this from Sephora. I didn't know what exactly to expect from it, but I am so glad I took the plunge. I found it much easier to apply self tanner to my face, and was really surprised to see how much it eliminated streaking. I usually just use my fingers, but this made for a much more even application. I use it with SUN Labs Strictly Faces Tan Overnight in dark, and it works wonderful. I don't have to worry about my hands becoming discolored either. I usually have to scrub my hands and nails with St. Tropez Self Tanning Removal Cream, but now, I just wash my hands after using the mitt. It was extremely inexpensive, and after I use it, I just wash it gently and let it dry. I think this is one of the best investments I have made that makes it so much easier to apply self tanner. I have also purchased the body mitt and will be writing a review on that as well. If you use self tanners, this is a must have.

Bobbi Brown Lip Color
For my everyday neutral natural look, I love this line of Bobbi Brown's lip colors. I have Brownie Pink, Cocoa, Beige, and Bare. I love them, they are really natural looking. They are really creamy and my lips feel nicely moisturised when I wear them. They apply nicely, they don't bleed or feather, and they last really well for me, I am not contantly reapplying them because the pigment saturation is great. I find that all of the colors I own look good with just about any color scheme of cosmetics I wear on any particular day. I have also recommended them to my friends as well as purchased them as gifts for friends and family. I have read many positive reveiws for this line, and I can see why so many people love them, they truly are one of the nicest lip products I have used. I also plan to add a few more to my collection because I like them so well. The tube is very elegant, yet understated, and they fit into my smallest handbag just fine for touchups, even though I rarely have to touch up. The lasting quality of this line of lip products is excellent, and not terribly expensive as other high end products that just don't perform as well for me.

Mary Kay TimeWise Repair Eye
I receieved thisproduct for fee to test and review. I really liked the packaging, I kept the product in the refridgerator and the metal applcator felt nice and cool on my skin. I found it to be moisturizing, but it idn't really do anything for my dark circles or the puffiness under my eyes. I have never used Mary Kay products prior to his, nor o I know ayone who uses it. I found it to be ok, I did notice a slight change in my lines, but it was only temporary. I found no reall change as far as making my lines go away, a slight temporary diminishing effect, but nothing really long term. I found it didn't irritate my eyes, but it contains no sun protection and my usual product does. I do prefer a product with some sort of sun protection factor of some sort. I think this would be a great product for some, but it just isn't my ideal product. I will not purchase this, but it was nice to have the opportunity to try it out.

Veet Ready to Use Wax Strips
I was given the opportunity to try these as well as review them. The last time I tried to wax myself was many years ago and it was not a pleasant experience. I ripped skin off as well as the hair, but that was over twenty years ago, and home waxing has truly come a long way I am pleased to say. I had just epilated the day before I received these, so I had to wait to use them until the hair was actually long enough to be removed. Epilation hurts, and I thought that it was less dangerous than wax in my hands. I prepped my legs by washing as well as exfoliating. Epilation sometimes leaves me with a few ingrown hairs, so I wanted to make this an effective test. I put the strips in the box out on my deck railing in the sun to make sure the wax would be soft enough to grab all the hair it possibly could. They were extremely easy to use, placement was simple and I was able to get 3 to 4 uses out of each strip. I did cheat a bit. I couldn't rip the strips off of myself fast enough to lessen the pain, so I had my husband rip them off for me. He did it much faster that I was able, and it was less painful than the epilator. I would use these again, the kit was great and the Perfect Image Wipes were great. This is a great kit and I have to say that I am no longer afraid of wax now. It removed the hair, the irritation didn't last long, and I am so happy with the results. I have some dense areas of hair and the wax strips worked just as well on the thicker areas as well as the finer hair. I believe that the strips removed 95% of the hair on the areas I used them on. I did it before I went to bed and the next morning, my legs weren't irritated and they felt really smooth. I am curious to see how long the results last. I would love to free up some time, and if these work, I shall have an extra hour or two to do the things I want rather than removing my body hair. I think this is a great product for beginner or expert.

Nars Blush/Bronzer Duo
I adore these duos, and I find that they really complimebnt each other. The blushes are the best in my opinion, hands down, and the bronzers are very subtle and warm. They don't oxidize into some weird orange or make your face look dirty. They apply very nicely, they wear very well, and the finished look is very natural, not overdone. You don't have to use a lot of product for good color payoff either, the pigmentation is just lovely. I think they are a bargain for the end result. The packaging is really nice and sleek and small and thin enough to carry in most handbags for touch ups, tho you don't have to really touch them up. They are a wonderful idea and product.

Sun Laboratories Strictly Faces Self Tanning Lotion
This is the best self tanner I have ever used on my face. I have some hormonal acne issues and am very oily, and this product didn't make me break out at all. I use it at night and when I wake up, I have very natural looking color on my face. It looks like I was on vacation at a beach with out the sun damage. This product doesn't streak or look orange and in my opinion is the best self tanner available on the market. A little goes a long way, and you can layer it for more color intensity. It doesn't have that horrible self tanner smell either. This is a product I will always have in my bathroom!

Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo
I was sent this product to review from Total Beauty. I have to say I have tried many facial hair removal products, from laser hair reduction, which was painful and not as effective as I would have like, waxing, also very painful and irritating, electrolysis, very expensive and left a few scars, and other depilitory creams like Surgi-Cream which left irritation and red areas so I would have to use it at night so the irritation would fade by the next day. I did a patch test and I had no problems with the Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo. I did, however have to stop using Retin-A Micro for a few days prior to my first use. I followed the directions and applied it. I knew it was different because I didn't feel that immediate burn I have experienced ier facial hair dipilitories. I left it on as was directed and I was amazed, the hair above my lips was completely gone, my unibrow was gone, and the hairs on my chin were gone and I had no irritation like I have experienced with other products like this. I am really impressed with the results. My skin was very smooth, not one trace of hair where I applied it, it didn't smell as bad as other products I have tried, and my skin didn't burn and I had no red marks where I had applied it. I am really glad Total Beauty allowed me to review this product. I may not have tried it otherwise based on prior experiences with products similar to this. I gave it a 10 because up to now, it has been the best product I have ever used to remove facial hair. I plan on purchasing it after my trial set is gone. I am totally sold.
