  • Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover

I always have a bottle of this handy for really stubborn eye makeup, but especially for cleaning any synthetic-haired brushes. I know it may sound weird, but it really helps get that last bit of foundation off the brushes, insuring that they are really clean.

  • MAC Cleanse Off Oil

I always used the little towlettes to remove my makeup, but I found they were too abrasive. I turned to cleansing oils. At $25 or so dollars, MAC has one of the most wallet-friendly versions from higher-end brands. If you use this correctly, it will remove all of your makeup without scrubbing your face, or being harsh. I know the "oil" can be scary, especially to those of us that have oily skin or are acne prone. However, this product does not contain mineral oil, which is the main culprit in breakouts. Trust me, the oils are good for your skin and gentle. I use this at night before my clarisonic. Do not treat this as a face wash, it is only a makeup remover. It's especially good at removing the "long-lasting" liquid foundations and water proof mascaras.

  • Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes & Lips

I've purchased a full-size of this product, as well as received deluxe samples of this in their gifts with purchase. Overall, it's a great eye and lip makeup remover. But let's be honest, you can find this exact product in the drugstore for about a third of the price. I don't mind splurging on products that are unique and great quality, but if you can get the same results with a cheaper drugstore brand, then why not?

  • Make Up For Ever Make Up Forever HD Microfinish Powder

I received a deluxe sample of this product and used the entire pot (about a month's worth). Overall, it's a good setting powder, but I can see how it's not for everyone. It can be a little difficult to apply, and the product seems to get everywhere at first (hold your breath!) If you apply too much, it can give a bit of a white-cast to your face. I'm medium skin-toned and it was alright for me, but any darker and I would think that it would alter your skin shade. It provides a nice smooth finish, but can have the tendency to look too "done-up" for everyday wear. I personally like my powder to make me look more natural and that I have really good skin, as opposed to "hey look at me and my makeup!" It's worth a try, because it truly is a good product, but I think the decision will be made on personal preference.

  • Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder
    10.0

    Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder

One of the best out there!

This was the first setting powder I ever used. It was recommended to me by a Sephora associate, and although I've tried others, I seem to keep coming back to this. I use the translucent formula, and the result is a satin finish to the skin that lasts most of the day. It does not leave me cakey, or with a white-cast face. It seems a bit pricey, but you're getting a lot of product that should last a good 10 months or so. Like I said, I've tried many loose powders, but seem to always come back to this. In many ways, it provides the most natural and soft finish in comparison to other products.

    MAC Mineralize Skinfinish

    Love, Love, Love!

Depending on which MSFs you purchase, and how you apply, these reviews can go in all sorts of directions. Yes, some of them can be overly glittery and make you look like a disco ball if you apply all over your face with a large fluffy brush. For me, I tend to use most of them as a highlighter and stick to my cheekbones. It's important that you not apply toward your nose, otherwise the glitter/shimmer will amplify your pores and make them more noticeable. I usually use a MAC 109 or 188 brush to apply and when buff into the skin. For me, they give that extra "something" that really polishes off your makeup look.

  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

    MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

    Good, but not Great

This is is my go-to powder when I want to set a tinted moisturizer, or throw something in my bag for touch-ups later in the day. You must use a light hand with this, otherwise it can end up looking cakey. Otherwise it's great for covering up shine and adding a bit of color. Another thing I like is that it will last forever!

  • L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

I find myself always going back to this hand cream. It's has little to no scent (the light scent is the shea butter) and really moisturizes your hands without leaving a greasy film. I always have one in my purse and in my desk drawer at work. Is it worth $10? That's for you to decide. For me, it's one of those small luxury products I like to splurge on.

  • MAC Pro Longwear SPF 10 Foundation

I'm torn about how to review this foundation. It's amazing. Very longlasting and covers almost everything without feeling heavy -- almost like a stain to the skin, while still looking natual. I've never tried a foundation like this one before, and I have yet to find another one like it. However, within one week's use, I developed small under the skin bumps along my chin. I discontinued use, and the bumps went away. So sad! I wanted to like this product so much!! Just because their was a bad reaction with my skin, I feel it's a bit unfair to give it a bad review, because I do believe it's an amazing product. Also, I've heard that many people have skin reactions with MAC foundations, but if your skin can handle it, I'd go for this foundation. I may go back at one time and see if my skin can handle it.

  • bareMinerals ORIGINAL SPF 15 Foundation

After so much buzz about these products, I caved and bought a starter kit. I couldn't wait to get rid of it! Unless your skin is extremely sensitive and this is the only product you can use, I don't know why anyone with purposely buy this. The coverage is way too light, but when you build it up, if looks horribly drying and caked on. The brushes were a joke and shed everywhere. I didn't like the way it left my skin looking shiny (not oily, just weirdly shimmery) and it looked very overdone. I ended up giving the rest of the set to my sister, and even she didn't like it.
