    Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream

Does exactly what it says and nothing more...but for the price I want more!

I wanted to like this product but for me it's just "meh". On the plus side, it does exactly what it says on the label: it hydrates. But that's it. No dark circle improvement, no line plumping, no removing crepiness., and the effect of giving my concealer a decent canvas was inconsistent from day to day. If I' m buying a separate eye cream, I want it to do more, because there was absolutely no difference between this eye cream and using my regular unscented facial moisturizer. Back to Shiseido Benefiance (which I also reviewed) or Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee (which I'm about to write my review for after this one)!

  • Shiseido Benefiance Concentrated Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream

Shiseido Benefiance Concentrated Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream

    Super-concentrated & goes a long way!

OMG how I love this stuff!!! As a sensitive-skinned, sensitive-eyed contact lens wearer, it 's not easy to find an eye cream that does the job and agrees with my skin and eyes...the irony being that, left unchecked, all the skin tugging from wearing contacts has the potential to speed up undereye aging! This Shiseido eye cream is my saving grace. It's super-concentrated, so a little goes a long way, but when I got the hang of how much my skin likes I found it to be non-greasy. It plumps up my fine lines, and gets rid of puffiness, and while I haven't noticed a big change with regard to dark circles, having used it twice a day for a year my eye area is definitely otherwise much improved, and my makeup glides on better. I also like that this product doesn't migrate into my eyes or burn or sting or smear my contact lenses.

  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil
    8.0

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil

When they say 24/7 they're not kidding!

"Zero" came in a palette kit I bought , and I was immediately impressed with the creaminess of the product. No tugging or pulling, and really inky pigmentation which, applied as is can fake a liquid liner look, or can be a smudgy smokey look if you blur it out with a smudge brush or cotton swab. But work fast, because you've got less than 30 seconds to get it on and get your look together! For this reason I think newbies will have the best luck applying the pencil sparingly. blending as you go and building the coverage, but it's worth getting the hang of. Once it's on, it stays on, budge-free until you take it off. It even holds up through applying drops to my contact lenses, which is saying a lot (I don't apply it to my waterline, so I can't comment there, but undereye is no problem). Good stuff!

  • Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin

    Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin

Only takes 2 for my long thick hair!!!

Woe to the person standing behind me if I use conventional hairpins to put up my long, thick hair, because conventional pins tend to spring out and take flight from my head. Spin Pins are the only pins that actually stay in place in my hair all day. The bronze ones blend into my hair invisibly, and I love that it only takes two pins for messy updo when I'm careful about their placement (3 when I want to get it right on the first try). They're easy to screw into the hair even with a bad mirror view, easily "unscrew" without breaking the hair when you take them out, and they have good grip without damaging my hair. They're also comfortable and don't poke into my scalp, and the fact that you need so few of them makes them fantastic for travel. Love 'em, love 'em, love 'em!!!

  • CoverGirl VolumeExact Mascara

This was my favorite drugstore mascara, and my overall close second after Lancome Definicils. I loved the brush--make that MADLY loved the brush! I loved the ease of application, and the fact that it stayed on all day and didn't flake, and I especially loved that it didn't clump on my long but too-light lashes and gave them volume without taking out the curl or making them stick together. I wish Covergirl would bring this one back from the dead and get rid of Lashblast, which is a nightmare of clumps and irritates my contact lenses.

  • Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
    10.0

    Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

Rescues my sensitive skin every time!

Having fair, super-sensitive combination skin and a penchant for new products doesn't always mix. In fact, sometimes my skin gets downright rebellious. Cetaphil saves my bacon every time. It doesn't lather, which takes getting used to, but stick with it for a week and it's totally worth it. It leaves my skin soft, balanced, dewy but not oily, and it doesn't burn or sting. I also like that it's completely fragrance-free. When I try a new product that angers my skin to the point where even tepid water stings, this stuff is the Zen of cleansers that helps calm everything down. (It's also gentle on a sunburn when I've accidentally stayed out past my sunblock's expiration.) In winter Cetaphil is my everyday cleanser, and although I switch to an Erno Laszlo bar in the summer, I always keep a bottle of Cetaphil around for skin emergencies, along with Cetaphil moisturizer. I like that Cetaphil doesn't react with other products, so when I'm planning to test drive something new, I make a point of cleansing my face with Cetaphil first. Also, when I need to exfoliate, I just mix a mild scrub in with it and get great results. This is one of my favorite products, and I see why so many dermatologists like it too.

  • Lancôme Définicils Waterproof High Definition Mascara
    9.0

Lancôme Définicils Waterproof High Definition Mascara

Works equally well for the long but light lashed people and less lash endowed!

Love this stuff! I have long but light lashes that sometimes need a little help with volume, so it can be tricky finding a mascara that does the job without leaving me spider-eyed. Been there, done that at all price points, tried 'em all , but this is the one I keep going back to. One coat usually does it for me, but my less-endowed-lashed friends get equally great results with two coats. Easy to apply, doesn't flake or irritate my contact lenses, stays on through applying drops to my lenses, and looks great all day. Everything smudges on me because of my contacts, but it probably is a bit less than the norm. (A lot depends on the undereye moisturizer used.) Hands down, it's the mascara most of my friends name as their favorite, and I agree. If there's a minus, it's the price, so I time my purchases with points deals or during "gift with purchase" campaigns.

  • Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30

My skin is extremely sensitive combination, with an oily T-zone in the summer and is much drier in winter. This product helps normalize things in the winter, and because I like the texture, SPF level, and brightening effect, I wanted to find a way to use it in the summer. My summer combo: an oil control toner in the T-zone (I use Erno Laszlo Light Controlling Lotion) followed by an all-over face and neck application of this. While it has no effect on my redness, it definitely brightens my fair skin and over time it got rid of some old acne marks. On the minus side, I wish this product was in a tube instead of a pump bottle, as the pump doesn't empty the bottle well and leaves a lot of product in the bottle at the end. Twice the pump mechanism has failed completely mid-bottle. I've become adept at using a clean coffee stirrer to dig out the product remaining in the bottle, but I shouldn't have to. I'm a repeat buyer of this product, but it would be great to get rid of the coffee stirrers!
