    Pur Minerals Chisel Brush

sheds bristles and felt rough on my skin

i bought the trial kit partially because of the value of receiving the brush. first the brush felt very rough on my skin, which was offensive to me, as i appreciate soft feeling applicators, (the new lancombe brush is incredible! and a cheaper version from london drugs is the eco line of recycled bamboo, they feel like silk!)then, the brush shed its bristles horribly! i wondered what was up and realized that i had brush hairs on my face, and even in and around my eyes, tangled in my eyeslashes! eew! it was aweful! i tried the product with my other brushes in an attempt to convince myself to keep the kit, because i quite liked the pink blush (but for the smell) but because the damned brush just would not stop shedding, i could not get past it. this was upsetting because i am not overly heavy -handed and i am not a novice at make-up application. i gave-up and returned the kit. :(

  • Pur Minerals 3-in-1 Universal Mineral Pencil

Pur Minerals 3-in-1 Universal Mineral Pencil

    moist smooth glide application

i bought this pencil last night in the light pink. i am nervous as typically unable to wear pink due to sensitivities, but the colour is so perfect with my green eyes and a nice alternative to white for brightening effect, so i had to try it out. it has a nice formula, it is a waterproof, smudgeproof so it should stay put. and it has the sponge blending tip at the opposite end, which is what i was looking for, (clarins also has this feature in their eye liner pencils but no white, which is what i was searching for). i love the colour on my skin so far, and no reaction yet, (there was a cooling sensation at application) but when it is not immediate, it can sometimes take up to a week or more of regular use before my skin has a major explosive reaction to the product. the blending sponge was very nice, and did not pull at my skin either like some cheaper versions can. so far i am very pleased, and i will keep you posted.

  • Clinique Repairwear Intensive Eye Cream

i have used this product since it launched and i have tried others. i have sensitive skin and sometimes i have noticed a stinging reaction on my eyelids when i use it. i have never been 100%certain if it was due to the cream or not, and of course once the reaction happens it is back to the drawing board...but if there is wheat in it, that may make sense, since i do have tendency for gluten type reactions...hmmm but i love the texture of the cream, and when it doesn't sting it feels wonderfully hydrating . i also use the zero gravity cream and it is quite moisturizing also. i have dry/sensitive skin so i need all the hydration i can get. lancombe's absolut is fabulous for restoring tissue firmness esp. after illness/weightloss, aging etc(i have an ongoing illness with muscle atrophy) and the absolut is incredible, but is uber expensive, and unfortunately i can't afford it all the time, so i switch with clinique.

  • Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick

this lipstick feels moist and smooth on lips. coverage is good, without being too sticky. but the color i loved has apparently been discontinued. crystal ecru. :( at least unavailable in prince george,bc. that sucks, cuz i loved it. i used to wear it in beige, which was also nice but the lighter colors look better on me.

  • Elizabeth Arden Hydra-Gentle Cream Cleanser

this product is lovely. i have dry sensitive skin. it does not irritate it, leaves it feeling clean but not tight. refreshing scent that doesn't irritate my eyes either.

  • Estee Lauder MagnaScopic Maximum Volume Mascara

i tried this mascara and as much as i wanted to like it it was just not for me. it did nothing for length or volume. it was flaky and made my eyelashes crunchy. i liked the brush becuz i like a stiffer brush, but was unimpressed. i also bought the more than mascara after falling in love with the gift with purchase sample, but the larger tube was a disappointment.

  • Maybelline New York Define-A-Lash Washable Lengthening Mascara

good bang for your buck if you lilke a natural defining mascara for everyday wear. good wearing formula for a non-waterproof mascara. i cry a lot and this mascara doesn't budge! no racoon eyes, or tammy faye baker horror-show effect! lol doesn't provide volume for those who want more dramatic effect, but it does lengthen and define nicely for an in expensive product. and unless you happen to buy a tube that is a dud, and i have experienced these with all mascaras, it typicaly is not clumpy, dry or flaky.

  • L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Original Mascara

i agree with the reviews about the mascara being a nuisance to apply. i have tried both the regular telescopic and the clean definition, which a little less glompy, but just as annoying to fuss with. when applied right, on a good day, the results are good, but does the end justify the means? i hate the round tip on the wand. totally useless asit is impossible to get at the inner/outer corners of lashes to fix any potential mistakes or to maneuver the product...have to use a different wand to help with this, plus the metal tweezerman comb (as did another reviewer!) to fix any clumps/globs at the lash tips. on uncoordinated days it is a true pain in the arse to get the job done and i have had to wash my face to reapply on a few uber bad days. doesn't make me happy camper when that happens omfg! (not only this mascara has done that)lol i don't recall if i found it available to me in a waterproof formula, as i typically wear waterproof becuz i swim and cry a lot(lol).

  • L'Oreal Paris Double Extend Waterproof Mascara

i bought this mascara and have applied it a few times but haven't yet had the opportunity to test it in the pool/river/lake, which is when the true water proof test occurs for me, lol. gonna test in shower this week, to see if any transfer, smudgingor racoon-eyes. but so far it is just ok as far as application and overall appeal go. i am a mascara junkie so i have many to choose from each day, depends on my mood i guess. and i have bad eyelash days, so it is always an adventure. i am uncertain if i like the primer yet or not. (i also have the lancombe primer and iffy on that also) primers seem to make my lashes appear shorter, more unruly and less curled than actually are. hmmm as far as removal with waterproof remover it was pretty basic.

  • Pur Minerals Purfect Starter Kit

i bought the kit to try the product. i loved the blush as the color worked well for me. the foundation was ok color-wise, but seemed to make my skin look flaky-dry. maybe it is because i am not used to all-over foundation? i never opened the bronzer, as i don't ever put foundation/powder on my neck, and it was uber dark loking. i wear the tan colour, and it still seemed a bit dark to me, but it was better than the colour below it. i prefer a natural look and typically only use these products in my undereye and nose area to evenout minor redness in the area. the products all have a bizarre smell though. i wondered if it was just my nose, or my particular set, so i smelled the testers at the shoppers drug mart, and they smelled the same! is it just the minerals they are using? the bare minerals do not smell at all...hmm also, my brush shed bristles from the first use! i found this above all to be most annoying, and the deal breaker, since it was largely part of why i bought the set in the first place. so i returned the set. i almost kept it just for the blush, but i'll keep searching. doesn't anyone else smell that? lol
