love this fresh fruity scent
perfect for summertime. light and fresh, it's like biting into a sweet juicy apple! i love fruity fragrances, and the green apple is supported by a very subtly floral background with a hint of slight muskiness - not too much at all. i always get compliments when i wear this (and no, not from teenyboppers - it may be a "young" fragrance but not that young!). it's a bit strong when you first spray it on, but unfortunately for me, the scent quickly fades away on my skin =( so minus one star...

my signature scent!
i LOVE gwen stefani. and i also LOVE fruity and fresh fragrances. so when L was first released, i was somewhat dismayed to discover that this was a floral/musky scent - exactly what i usually avoid, as they never seemed to smell right on me. but i was pleasantly surprised to find the sweet floral mix (including sweet pea, white freesia, jasmine rose) was not at all overpowering and instead, nicely balanced by the fruitiness (fresh pear, orange blossom) that i usually prefer, and the soft musk is also a nice warm counterpoint to the otherwise fresh scent. plus the scent actually lasts on my skin rather than quickly fading away as other perfumes tend to do...LOVE it!

quick & easy straight hair!
now i must admit, my hair is pretty straight to begin with, but i do have some frizzy and flyaway moments, and so for my first straightener...i'm impressed! it takes me FOREVER to blow dry my hair so it's nice and shiny, but it never seems to look just right - like some layers fall nicely, whereas others fall in the opposite direction i want them to. but with this straightener, a quick 10 mins and my hair is behaving! no more frizzies (even after i step into the fog) - this is perfect for "finishing" my look. or refreshing my hair the next day - even after tying wet hair into a ponytail, this straightener removes that hairtie "dent" and i can wear my hair down again. and the 2-inch size is a great time-saver - works on larger sections of hair but still gets close to the roots. note - i've only used this when my hair's dry - i'm a little wary of trying it on wet hair...

the right chemistry!
for once, it appears i have the right body chemistry for a beauty product! all too often, perfumes don't smell right on me, and the smashbox's intuitive blush version failed to bring any color to my cheeks. but i like o-gloss! unscented and flavorless (a nice change for a gloss), it glides on clear and slowly but surely blossoms into the faintest rosy hue, shimmery yet subtle. perfect for when you're trying to achieve that "natural look". packed with their patented "goji berry-c complex", ginkgo biloba and pomegranate seed antioxidants, plus marine botanicals and avocado oil, i swear i can feel a slight tingle on my lips while also enjoying moisturization (just the slightest bit sticky). i've added it to my makeup bag!

smoothing and soothing
this was recommended to me by a saleswoman at sephora, at my request for something lightweight but still effective at covering my dark under-eye circles =( she noticed my under-eye skin was a bit dry and recommended the time balm. it may not be moisturizing, but it definitely does a fine job brightening up my eyes w/o settling into fine lines or revealing dry patches. feels good as it goes on smoothly.

it took me a while to stray from my lancome aqua fusion tinted moisturizer (which i still love btw!) but everyone's been raving about laura mercier's product that i had to give it a try. i opted for the oil-free version since i have that t-zone shine =( at first i was worried that it wasn't moisturizing as well or providing the right level of coverage - then i discovered just the right amount to apply and i'm impressed! as a moisturizer, my cheeks are no longer dry or flaky (although i also use a layer of regular moisturizer underneath) and as a "tinted" version, it works in evening out red tones without feeling too heavy - i can hardly tell i'm wearing anything. plus SPF. what sold me though is that my t-zone is less shiny! definitely worth the extra $$$.

the lightest color wash ever...
the cutest design with the etched flower on the bottom of the pot and the prettiest shades (indie's a beautiful deep wine color similar to goldie's gloss, velveteen). but looks can be deceiving; i know not to expect a lot of color from a "wash" but i could barely detect a hint of tint. as for the lip conditioning, it didn't feel as soothing as my usual lip balm (bigelow's miracle-working rose salve), so it's not that great on that end either. and as cute as the pot is, it makes application a bit difficult - i hate getting lip gloss under my fingernail =( if you're looking for something lighter than a gloss or lip balm that will still make your lips shine, you can't get any cuter than this...

i love this lip gloss - it's appropriately described as "tasty lip color". i use "frozen blackberry" and it's one of the darker shades for a little more hint of supershiny color - sweet berry taste but not sickeningly sweet or supersticky. and lasts pretty long considering it's a gloss!

takes a little extra effort
the smaller brush takes some effort to get used to - i get it, you're supposed to be able to reach those hard-to-reach lashes but in doing so, you also end up with clumps of mascara here and there (despite wiping the brush before each use). once you actually get the mascara on your lashes and eliminate the clumps, it's pretty impressive - lashes do look longer and there's a noticible lift to open your eyes up. i just wish the application wasn't such a pain! (but it hurts to be cute, right? no one said it would be easy...)
