Skin Smoothing, Not Much More
I received the PMD from Total Beauty to try out and review. I had never used any kind of microdermabrasion tool or received any professional service before. I am 35 years old with dry skin, beginning to show fine lines near my eyes and more defined lines on my forehead. I would say I have medium sized pores. I was excited to try this tool in hopes of better moisturization, pore size reduction and fading of fine lines. I watched the DVD and read all instructions. I did one full-pass on my face and neck with the training disc. It was fine, no irritation. So I did a full treatment that same evening with the sensitive/blue disc, as directed. It was pretty easy to use and comfortable to hold; it's a little loud, but not bad. I wish the DVD and instructions would have shown how to use this on my nose (where my pores show the most) and forehead; that is more difficult. I found it's easier to turn sideways when doing my forehead so I can follow the contour with the device. The nose is pretty much impossible to do, so I didn't spend much time on that. I had no irritation from the process. I don't use toner, so just wiped my face clean afterwards and moisturized. My face felt smoother right away. I did not see any brightness or change in fine lines or pore size. A week later, as directed, I used it again, with the same blue disc. I had the same results. My skin still feels pretty smooth, but it has always been generally smooth to begin with. Still no improvement in tone, pore size or brightness. I will continue to use this product. For my next treatment, I will move up to the next disc to see if I get any better results. And, I look forward to trying this out on my feet. I personally would never pay the price to buy one of these, but since it was given to me, I'll continue to use it. If my fine lines ever fade, I will update this review or write a new one.

Paula's Choice RESIST Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum
I received a generously sized free sample of this product from Total Beauty. I have been using this most every evening, after cleansing and before moisturizing. A tiny drop goes a long way on the face and neck. It instantly smooths my skin and I still feel the smoothness in the morning when I wash my face. The one dark spot on my left cheek hasn't changed in the 2-3 weeks I've been using this product and same goes for the fine lines by my eyes. The appearance of my skin doesn't seem different to me as far as 'luminosity' or 'tone', but it does feel softer to the touch. I don't know that I would purchase this product, but I am interested in the Paula's Choice brand now that I have used this item.

This powder is ok. I probably wouldn't buy it again though. It just seems a little heavy for what I like in a pressed powder and the color is a little dark for me; the next shade lighter would be too light I think. And it leaves my skin looking more dry initially and then seems to make me oily by the end of the day.

This is a fun product because you can layer and create your own combinations of color on your lids. It blends well and looks beautiful on. I haven't paid a lot of attention to the staying power, but suppose it could be touched up if going out at night after wearing all day. It is a bit of pain having to apply with the finger, but it's worth it sometimes. I have also used a liner brush to use this product as an eyeliner - GREAT! I would recommend this product.

I bought this product in the shades of pink and what fun to wear! It really brightens my eyes and it's easy to create my own color combinations by layering. It's easy to apply, although somewhat messy using the fingertip. I have also used an eyeliner brush to use the product as a liner, not just a shadow. Lots of fun and looks great!

Take it or leave it
The biggest disappointment in this product is that the balm side isn't retractable - it's just all 'out there' and if you don't get the cap back on perfectly straight, you nick the balm. I can't believe it doesn't wind up and down inside the tube. Plus you wouldn't want to work that balm too hard in case you break it off altogether. But the balm feels great on. The stain end is exactly the same as the Cover Girl brand, so if you already carry a balm in your pocket/purse like I do, there's no need to buy this product if you already have the CG version - as I do. The stain does go on a little unevenly, but it's buildable. I was surprised to see another rater say it didn't go on her top lip as well as the bottom because I've had that same experience! Weird. At any rate, this is an OK product. I won't pay $8+ for it again. It doesn't last even until lunch. And if you have any lip imperfections (I pick at my lip a little bit) it 'stains' more heavily there. So maybe stains aren't the best product for me, but I don't hate them!

I've been using this shampoo and the coordinating conditioner for about three weeks now, every day. The shampoo feels good while you're washing, but after rinsing leaves my hair feeling thick and straw-like. The conditioner then goes on well and feels good, but after rinsing and towel drying, my hair actually squeaks while I'll comb it out! After blow-drying my straight, fine hair looks frizzy and dull. I won't be purchasing this product again or recommending it to anyone.

A Perfect Basic Lotion
I received an unmarked sample of this lotion from Total Beauty. WOW - to find out it's Vaseline is a happy surprise! This is a great every day lotion for normal to dry skin. The scent is light and pretty, not overpowering. The texture of the lotion is light and manageable, not sticky or stiff. I have used this four times, at night after my shower. I still feel and look noticeably moisturized in the morning. I would definitely buy this lotion and recommend this to anyone looking for an every day basic. I haven't used Vaseline lotion in many, many years - it's a great product that I will have to revisit soon!

I received a full-size 'sample' of this product with the coordinating shampoo. I've been using it every day, with the shampoo, for a week and a half. I have normal, straight, fine, color-treated long hair. This conditioner conditions OK, but it really doesn't detangle that well. I don't normally have a problem combing out my hair after washing & conditioning, but I always have snarls with this product. I think it's a bit of a lightweight when it comes to detangling. Otherwise, I love the packaging and the fragrance. Maybe it's better for shorter hair. I probably won't be buying this product after this bottle is gone.

Job Well Done!
I received a free full-size 'sample' of this product to try out and review. I have never used Aveeno or sulfate free shampoo before and I found this product to work great! I have normal, straight, fine, color-treated long hair. My hair comes out clean and healthy with this product. I love the packaging - simple, can stand upside down when the shampoo is almost gone. And, the fragrance is nice and the shampoo feels good when I'm using it - lots of suds. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a sulfate free shampoo.
