Maybelline New York Dream Matte Powder

    Holy Grail.... For a While

This was my holy grail setting powder for a very long time, especially in the summer when my face would get super shiny real fast. My face started to get dry, for the first time in my life, and I noticed that it can cling to dry spots. Currently I cannot use it on my nose, with my Revlon ColorStay foundation, as it would create a really cakey appearance. I have gone through many of these powders in the past but I'm just not lovin' it since my face got drier. Oily skin? grab it ASAP? Dry? Skip it!

    E.L.F. Shielding Hydro-Tint

    Everyday Highlighter

I purchased this, in Spotlight, at Target a while back and ran out of it a little bit ago. I ordered it from their website and when I received it I instantly remembered why I adored it so much! I love the orange scent, it's completely unexpected! I am an NC15 in MAC and I feel like this is the perfect highlighter for my skin. I do not like to use powder highlighters because I feel like they are counter productive since you want to add dewyness to the face. It adds a really nice pearl-essence to the cheek bones and is super easy to work with. You can either apply it with your fingers (which is a lot easier and you waste less product) or a stippling brush. For only $1 it's a must!

  • Physicians Formula Matte Collection Quad Eye Shadow

I purchased this palette, in Canyon Classics, back when I was in highschool and started taking care of my eye brows and wanted to define them. A few days after I got it the creamy shade fell out and I hardly got to even use it. I used the darkest cool toned dark brown until it ran out and was very disappointed when I could not find it anywhere. I eventually tracked it down at a CVS and finally got to try the creamy shade and I fell in love! It reminds me a lot of Heaven by Too Faced but it is a lot more pigmented. The only thing about this particular shade is that it can be very powder but nothing tapping off your brush cannot help. Like mentioned before, the darkest shade is great if you like really dark brows. The two other shades are great subtle crease colors. Especially with the lightest shade, you can create a really natural look with winged eyeliner and create a pin up effect. The two shades seem exactly the same in the pan but when swatched one is darker and more cool toned than the other. I reach for this palette everyday using the lightest shades under my brows as an intense matte highlight and the dark brown for my brows. If you can track it down, snatch it up!

    Too Faced Natural Eye Palette

    Everyday Go To Palette

I received this as a gift and could not wait to use it! I had heard a lot about it in the past but had never really swatched it or looked into it. At first I was skeptical because I have super sensitive eyes and I had tried my sisters identical palette and it irritated them terribly. I have also never tried any eyeshadows from Too Faced so I was not sure how my eyes would react. Fortunately, this shadow formula does not bother me at all and I cannot wait to invest in more of these eye palette collections. The "day" top row colors (Heaven, Velvet Revolver, Sexspresso) are all completely matte and are extremely pigmented. Heaven is great for NC15 girlies like me who want an all over lid color and looks great with Velvet Revolver in the crease with winged pin-up eyeliner. Sexspresso is an awesome dark brown that I have also used for my eyebrows when I have forgotten my eyebrow palette. The "classic" middle row consists of all shimmer shadows (Silk Teddy, Push-Up, Erotica). Silk Teddy often replaced my holy grail all over eye color, Nylon by MAC. It is a lot more subtle and has a beautiful shimmer. Push-Up and Erotica are great outer-v and crease colors as they have a lot of dimension. They are all very smooth, have little to no fall-out, and are extremely pigmented! The "fashion" last row has two hits and a miss... All of the shadows (Nude Beach, Honey Pot, Cocoa Puff) have shimmer with Cocoa Puff having some fine glitter and Nude Beach having an enormous amount. The only shade that I do not use AT ALL in this row, and palette, is Nude Beach. It has almost no pigmentation once put on the eye with a brush and has a lot of glitter fall out. If you swatch it with your finger you will notice that it has a very gritty feeling that I usually do not fancy in a shadow... Besides Nude Beach this is an excellent palette and the only reason I am only giving it 9 stars. Unfortunately it is a higher end palette and I like my money (and a gift givers) to be well spent!

  • MAC Paint Pot

    MAC Paint Pot

    Okay Base, Awful Primer

I purchased the shade is Soft Ocre in hopes of using it as an actual primer and not just a base. First time I used this Paint Pot my eyeshadow creased terribly and I was instantly disappointed. I then decided to just use it as a base because it could have creased on account of my extremely oily eyelids. During the warmer months in New Jersey it works as a great base when used with one of my favorite shadows, Heaven by Too Faced. But, during the cold months, when many people's face are naturally dryer, I cannot use it at all. It clings to every wrinkle or dry path on my eyes and is super uncomfortable. You would also think since it is so dry on my eye it would not crease, but it does. Regardless of the weather I have experimented with the amount I apply, how I apply it, and where on the eye I apply it and no matter what it creases. So I would say pass on this and check out the Maybelline Color Tattoos, although they do not have a comparable shade to Soft Ocre...

  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer

I had used the Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP) ever since they had that really crappy packaging with the awkward doe foot applicator and I loved it. For a while. But I have moved on to bigger and better things, Too Faced Shadow Insurance! After a while UDPP started to crease on me. I'm not sure if it was a formula change or what but it started to suck! I went into Sephora to try the Nars eyeshadow primer but they were out so I decided to pick this up. I usually work 12-14 hours a day and before I got this I would never wear eyeshadow because by lunch my eyes would be a shadowy mess. This primer doesn't usually last 14 hours but it lasts long enough that I can quickly touch up my eyeshadow 3/4 through the day and it's not a catastrophe. I can't wait to try some of the tinted shades and expand my Too Faced Shadow Insurance experience!

    M.A.C. Eye Shadow

    Must Have

I was skeptical to buy MAC shadows because of the price but I am so happy I did. My holy grail eyeshadow is Nylon and I used it everyday all over my lid and the texture is amazing! I have very sensitive eyes and cannot get away with wearing a lot of drugstore eyeshadow such as Wet n Wild, Almay, and L'Oreal. I have had Nylon for a very long time and have not even hit pan because it is so pigmented and do not have to use a lot. The only shade I have that I am disappointed in is Carbon. I am not sure what the hype is about this color because I do not find it pigmented and I have found a better black in a Wet n Wild Palette (one that I'm not allergic to!). Many shades are very unique and I do not feel like I am wasting my money on something I could find cheaper somewhere else. The only reason I am not giving these shadows 10 stars is because I feel like some of the matte shades are lacking, including Carbon, and it would be great if they could improve the pigmentation.

  • Covergirl LashBlast Luxe Mascara

I have tried all of the Lash Blast mascaras (minus the new Clump Crusher one) and this is the best! I am not a fan of the original because it is a little to wet for me and the Fusion is almost just as good as the Luxe but not dry enough for me. I really like dry mascara because i have thin, short lashes and I like to put on a lot of coats. It does not clump or get flaky and I have NEVER experienced raccoon eyes with this one, like I have the original LashBlast. I feel like this mascara is more volumizing than lengthening but a friend of mine can get a lot of length from this! After a WHILE the mascara does flake but I expect that from any mascara that you have had for a period of time. I still rate it 10 stars because I will always repurchase and I have no desire to try any other mascaras!

  • CoverGirl CG Smoothers Concealer

I originally purchased this concealer after hearing Sonia Castaneda rave about it via her YouTube channel and I knew I had to try it. I use the lightest shade under my eyes and it has a great pinky undertone that counteracts my dark circles. I also have a very dry undereye area and this doesn't make the area look flaky or emphasize anything gross. My only complaint is that it smells kind of funky. I can't put my finger on it but it kind of smells like maple syrup? It's smelt like that since I purchased it so I know it's not because it has "aged". I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to hide dark circles! It does not do much for blemishes since it is more of a pink tone but you can't ask for a better undereye concealer!

  • Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Combination/Oily Skin

I tried this foundation when I was a freshman in highschool (and when I started to get acne). At the time I didn't apply it correctly but I knew I loved it. Almost 5 years later I wear it every day and apply it in a stippling motion with a rung out damp wedge sponge. I usually do not need to spot conceal because the foundation provides enough coverage but not enough for undereye circles, but I'm okay with that! I wear the shade "Buff - 150" and I am an NC15 in MAC Studio Finish. My only complaint, which is one by many, is that it does not have a pump but I usually just put it upside down on top of my sponge and put a dot on it so it's not a huge deal. Although it does not affect me because "Buff" happens to be my perfect shade, they do not have a large color selection compared to MAC but compared to other drugstore foundations they have many. Longwear wise, it's awesome. I work 12-14 hour days and I CAN go all day without using a powder although I usually don't. I feel like it actually absorbs into the skin a little but does not break me out. Terrific foundation and I always recommend it to my friends!
