Ugh - clumps and flakes
Even though I bought this half priced, it was still a waste of money. Does nothing as advertised, in fact the mascara clumped quite a bit and flaked off. I bought this based on the package description, yet not only does it NOT do what it claims, I found the opposite (clumping) to be true. Now how annoying is THAT? Very annoying.

Color faded for blonde; use the bottle stand on the box;
I used shade #9 which was initially a perfect match to the 9.5NB Excellence Creme that I use for all over color. I do think the product would benefit from having more shades in the lighter colors, and I had to go to three stores to find shade #9. The product colored my roots and initially blended flawlessly with my hair color. I left it on the full 15 minutes, rinsed well, then shampooed as usual. All of my hair feels ultra-conditioned, which was a nice benefit. THEN.... After about 3-4 days *the coloring lost some of the initial blonde color*. Bleh! I have not had this happen with root coloring from other brands. So for blonde, the product needs to be lighter. This kit differs from other root-coloring kits in that there's no mixing tray and brush. Mixing is done within the application bottle. TIP: *definitely use* the bottle-holder hole that's on the back of the box to stabilize the application bottle when adding the color liquid. Punch out this hole before you get started. Application #1 bottle sits in there as you pour in the contents from bottle #2, put the cap back on bottle #1 and shake like crazy. The bottle is clear so you can see when the product is mixed and how much you've used. I wasn't sure how the comb applicator would work but it's very good - generously delivers the product & gives a lot of application control. The gloves provided look huge but actually fit pretty well, and there's also covers for eyeglasses as well. Overall I will *NOT purchase this product again because the color faded so quickly and I was left with odd colored roots. I took another star away from rating due to the bottle design: bottle #1 should have a much wider opening to make adding the coloring liquid spill-proof.

Fabulous & Foolproof
My friend just used this product; she did the base color application and I did the highlights application for her. Her hair turned out *amazing*, as in, we're freaking out how great it looks. She colors her hair herself all the time, however this was the first time using at-home-highlight AND I had never applied highlights before. That's why I say it's foolproof (ha ha). I did watch the online L'oreal instructional video, just to see about the application process for the highlights. I ended up using the mixing spatula to apply the highlights; there's a small hook at the end and I used that to pick up the strands of hair to apply the mixture too. I have to say, when I was done applying the highlighting creme it looked like she'd end up with chunky highlights, however the highlights are blended and look absolutely professionally done. Her hair was colored light blonde, and she used "Toasted Coconut" which I believe is an 8. Her end result is a beautiful light medium blonde with light blonde highlights. This is lighter than the picture on the box, which she is fine with. I heavily gooped the highlighting creme on, left it on for the 25 min max time. She is about 50% premature grey (which is why she colors) and had about 1 1/2" grey at the roots before coloring. Overall well worth the cash - costs about $15 a box and looks like it was $150 at the salon.

Wasn't as light as it claims
This product just didn't work on my fine hair. It seems to work well for some so I guess give it a try and you might have good luck. But for me, it just weighed down my hair and left it sticky feeling, even if I used just a little. I expected something very light but with good hold, and this isn't like that at all.

I bought this product because it says it will pump up thin hair. I have fine hair and this product left my hair sticky, flat, and hard to style in a soft, full look. It actually weighed down my hair. I also didn't find the "hold" very good, either.

Slightly eliminates brass; adds shine; pricey
This product is now in updated red packaging. Left my hair in great condition, eliminated a little brass and added slight shine to my colored/highlighted blonde. Very easy to apply, no drip, you leave it on 5-10 min. The conditioner included is WONDERFUL. Two negatives: 1) The price - it's a little pricey [$8-10] for one application considering you can buy a bottle of "purple" toning conditioner for the same price/many applications. 2) This product didn't reduce brass in my hair even half as well as Clairol Shimmer Lights "purple" conditioner. In fact, after using Shimmer Lights I edited this review, because I saw so much more brass elimination with the purple conditioner than I did with the Tone Refiner. For the price of one application, and how it just didn't do the trick, I'd have to say I won't purchase this product again.

Nice cream, light fragrance, had some results
I like this product and will definitely buy it again. The product is packaged in a short red jar with an easy twist off lid. It's a thick cream with a very light fragrance, and although it seems heavy it easily disappears into my skin. I've been using it along my jawline, neck, and around my eyes for about a month now and I've actually noticed some slight improvement in the tone of my skin. Product information says to allow 8 weeks, with 2x daily use, to notice improvement in skin; I'm only half way there I'm already impressed. It's pricey - over $10 - however they do offer online and newspaper/magazine coupons so keep an eye out for those. I'm giving it 8 stars because no product seems able to actually "defy gravity"; but overall I'm impressed with this product.

Brush is useless but product is good
I use a cotton swab to apply this product; the "brush" that is attached to the bottle cap isn't really a brush at all, it's plastic strips that spread and bend out to the sides making application difficult. Ignore the "brush" issues though, because the actual product works very well! Very thick so application is easy, and it completely removes even peach fuzz hair. I like the bottle design better than a tube, and there's plenty of product so one bottle will last awhile.

WOW - big impact lash results! My oldest daughter uses this and it gives her lashes mega definition and length. She has full, dark eyelashes and this mascara enhances them to the point that they almost look artificial, but not. Because it packs such a punch, it might be kinda heavy for those with finer/thinner eye lashes, OR it could be just the ticket to longer much fuller lashes. It's very reasonably priced, even more so when it's on sale in an Avon book. The brush is much larger than a normal mascara brush, but it works well with the product.

Wonderful conditioner, great price!
Suave does it again! This conditioner doesn't weigh down fine hair, adds volume, smells wonderful, and is inexpensive too. Wonderful! This conditioner (and matching shampoo) works as well, if not better, than volumizing conditioners twice/four times the price. 10 stars for sure!
