    White Sands Infinity Finish Spray

    Hairspray of Choice

Yesterday we spent an afternoon at the salon getting our hair colored and cut. Today we don't want to wash those dollars down the drain so we used White Sands Infinity Finishing Spray. We know why it has become the hairspray of choice for hairdressers around the world: Infinity is a FLEXIBLE finish spray that works with any iron and allows us to recreate yesterday's coiffed hair. Infinity also increases the amount of shine in our hair when used with a flat iron. Infinity can be combed and repels moisture, even in the harshest weather conditions. And today it's raining cats and dogs. Infinity possess a nude-like feel -- soft and touchable. Women with all types of hair texture and hairstyles should find White Sands Infinity Finishing Spray a product to use on a daily basis or for those days in between shampooing.

    Fake Bake Self-Tanning Mousse

    Personal Trainer Met Her Match

Fake Bake Self-Tanning Products: Review Posted on Apr 10, 2009 at 1:55PM Review of Fake Bake Self-Tanning products Reviewed by Jamie My mother has been self-tanning for years, before it was even the thing to do. Can you say trendsetter?! Now, I'm convinced that it's the way to go. Who wants leathery, wrinkly skin? Count me out. And, count me in as a Fake Bake fan. I have progressively become a self-proclaimed self-tanning expert and know all the tricks to a perfect sunless tan and have tested almost every product out there. In order to keep my title of self-tanning expert and hearing women rave about Fake Bake, I had to lather up. Starting with the Passion Fruit Body Polish, I exfoliated -- one of the most important steps of the self-tanning process. The polish kept my skin smooth and soft. Then I did a speedy towel-dry and got down to business. I chose the Fake Bake Self-Tanning Mousse. But wait! I had no gloves. What's a girl to do? Ziploc bags over the hands would have to do. The mousse contains a temporary color which helped cover ME completely. I have always been curious as to how everyone else gets it on the hard-to-reach areas on their back. Do they do countless yoga sessions to reach their go-go gadget arms behind their back? Do their hubbies or significant others get involved in the process? I still consider myself a new student of contortionist yoga and my man was at work. So I rigged a plastic trash bag to a Swiffer and went to town on my mid back. I'll give you a second to chuckle... After applying the mousse, my skin was luxuriously hydrated. And for extra bonus points, the product dried in minutes. A few hours later I glanced in the mirror to find myself bronzed and beautiful. No orange. No streaks. I'm hooked! The next day I applied the Tan Enhancing Lotion that contains ingredients that minimize fine lines, contains a shimmer, and keeps your skin feeling "like butta." With other self-tanning products, I've had to re-apply self-tanner many days in a row to achieve the same results that I achieved with Fake Bake. Fake Bake lasted through my workout sessions, ten-outfits-a-day wardrobe changes, and showers galore. The self-proclaimed self-tanning expert has met her match.

  • Max Factor Vivid Impact Lip Color

I loved the lipstick! The texture is rich, smooth and moisturizing, with a high color payoff. My only issue with the lipstick was that #28 Rose Rage wasn't the best color for me. My picks are #72 Vegas, Baby and #20 Skinny Dip- and I can't wait to try them out!

Estee Lauder Pleasures Eau de Parfum Spray

    Scent-Sational Gift For Mum

If your mother is anything like Mother Blogger, she will love a bottle of Limited Edition Estee Lauder pleasures for Mother's Day ($52). Not one to douse her pulse points with strong parfums and sensitive about hitting anybody in the nose with an olfactory sledgehammer, Mother Blogger frugally splashed the sheer Baie Rose and Peony pleasures onto her neck area. Feeling feminine without girlish, she attached the spray pump that was included and gave herself a spirited all-body douse! Although fragrance is an intimate thing, something you share with people with whom you have close contact, Mother Blogger discovered that pleasures is light enough for a subtle drenching without one's sillage -- trail of scent -- to be cloying or overpowering. Mother Blogger gives this a thumbs-up for moms who like a light but feminine scent.

    NeoCutis Bio-Restorative Skin Cream

NEOCUTIS SKIN CARE FOR MATURE SKIN AND COMPASSIONATE CONSUMERS

If you have followed Mother Blogger's trek through the murky waters of antiging skin care products, you know that her No. 1 recommendation is Retin-A, but she has been and is a fan of NEOCUTIS, too -- for more reasons than just fighting wrinkles! For years, cosmetic companies only focused on superficial flaws and preyed on people’s insecurities, but NEOCUTIS is trying to change that. For every NEOCUTIS product sold at dermatologists' offices or online during the month of May, $1 will be donated to The Sturge-Weber Foundation, which exists to improve the quality of life for individuals with port wine birthmark and related conditions through worldwide education, support, and research leading ultimately to a cure. It is the goal of NEOCUTIS that their partnership with The Sturge-Weber Foundation will inspire other cosmecutical brands to partner with charities. Mother Blogger on NEOCUTIS Bio-Restorative Skin Cream with PSP Description: This effective, revitalizing cream is ideal for maturing, sensitive, stressed and irritated skin. Processed Skin Proteins, also known as PSP, is a naturally balanced blend of essential nutrients, such as growth factors, antioxidants and matrix proteins, including collagen. This powerful ingredient revives skin, causing the complexion to become softer, firmer, younger, and healthier ooking. Neocutis Bio-restorative Skin Cream with PSP is an oil-in-water emulsion, ideal for hydrating the skin while supplying nutrients. Fragrance- and colorant-free. Usage: It is recommend to use once or twice daily, but you should follow the recommendations of your dermatologist. Comments: Although pricey -- $130 -- growth factors encourage collagen production, which softens the look of lines. I have also used TNS Recovery Complex, which contains growth factors, and both products have improved my skin. If your skin is too sensitve for products containing retinoids or alpha hydroxy acids, NEOCUTIS Bio-Restorative Skin Cream is a good option. AND always, always wear sunscreen!!!

  • L'Oreal Paris EverPure Moisture Shampoo

    L'Oreal Paris EverPure Moisture Shampoo

    Affordable, Accessible, and Sulfate-Free

L'Oreal EverPure Sulfate-Free Color Care System Posted By Jamie on Feb 11, 2009 at 11:21AM Beauty Product Review: L'Oreal Paris EverPure Sulfate-Free Color Care System - EverPure Moisture Shampoo and Moisture Conditioner L'Oreal Paris has created an anti-fade system of shampoos and conditioners that are affordable, accessible, and completely sulfate-free. According to L'Oreal, EverPure features the following: L'Oreal is the first to feature shampoos and conditioners that protect your hair with anti-fade ingredients while at the same time caring for your hair with nourishing ingredients. No harsh sulfates, surfactants, or salts that fade the color of hair. Shampoos feature a blend of five naturally-derived surfactants that give the formula a high density, creamy foam unlike some other sulfate-free formulas on the market, currently limited to a small number of professional and "natural" lines that may not have a rich foam or dense lather. Also features silicones for additional color protection and nourishment and cationic polymers for more conditioning. Extra nourishing with deep moisturizers and Vitamin E. No dulling build-up. Milder on hair's surface. Scent: The fragrance is a mixture of rosemary, juniper and mint. Admittedly, the scent is stronger than our current salon hair care wardrobe, but we didn't find the scent offensive. Results: Unlike many so-called eco-friendly, organic, or natural shampoos that we have tested, EverPure has a luxurious lather. We are convinced that some of this is psychological, but we felt our hair felt really clean after shampooing. As a matter of fact, we skipped two days in between shampoos, which is a rarity. EverPure Moisture Conditioner left our hair looking extaordinairly shiny. Other Review Comments: EverPure is affordable. According to a recent study, an average person will use 20 bottles of shampoo a year. With EverPure's suggested retail price of $6.99 to $8.99, you will only spend approximately $139 a year compared to the pricey salon shampoos where you can pay two to three times the price of EverPure. EverPure is highly accessible. You can purchase the hair care products online or from chain, drug, food and mass market retailers nationwide. EverPure is 100 percent vegan-- not tested on animals, no animal by-products. You can see a list of ingredients here. EverPure can be customized for your hair type. Use EverPure Moisture for extra nourishment, EverPure Smooth for frizz fighting, and EverPure Volume for volumizing. For additional UV protection, you can add EverPure UV Spray.

    Artemis Woman Heel Smoother Pro

Secret To Perfect Home Spa Pedi

Secrets to a perfect home spa pedi: Artemis Woman's Heel Smoother ($29) Beauty product review by Beckie Hahahahahahahaha!!! Hehehehehehehe! Hahahahahahahahahaha! That's the sound of my voice when I'm sitting in the massage chair getting a pedicure. Yikes. Oh-oh. Eek. That's also the sound of my voice when I'm sitting in a massage chair getting a pedicure. With a ticklish spot on the bottom of my feet and an aversion to someone shaving my heels with blades, I am either laughing or crying. When Artemis Woman's battery-operated pedicure tool arrived at my feet, I was tickled pink to give this tool a test-drive and save my sole! Promo: This battery-operated callus remover is a revolutionary pedicure appliance that smoothes calluses and removes dry skin on heels and toes in seconds, without the use of harsh chemicals or dangerous blades. It is perfect for today’s fashion of sandals and open heeled shoes. The Heel Smoother is the only pedicure device that stops when too much pressure is placed on the foot. This built-in safety feature prevents over-exfoliating which can damage the foot. Comes with a FREE full 1 oz jar of the exclusive Healing Gems® Topaz Foot Butter, with rich, nourishing shea butter, purifying aromatherapy essential oils, and uplifting Topaz crystals to soften and revitalize feet and revitalize the spirit!Includes:battery operated pedicure appliance (2AA batteries required, not included)2 Duracrystal Power tips (large rounded tip for heels, small thin tip for toes) $29. Usage: Sitting on a towel in front of the television, I turned The Heel Smoother on and without laughing or tensing, I spent approximately six minutes removing calluses and dry skin. The pedicure tool sounds a little like the tool the salons use when filing acrylic nails. Results: Amazing! My heels, the balls of my feet, and the bottom of my toes felt as smooth as they feel after a professional salon pedicure. I was going to post a before and after picture, but I just couldn't bear my soles to you. Let me just say this: Be sure to have something under your feet to catch the dry skin. Comments: If I were to purchase a heel smoother from Artemis Woman, I would opt for the Rechargeable Heel Smoother Optimum ($39), which has a stronger professional motor and might work a little faster. With the average price of pedis running approximately $50, The Heel Smoother is a smart choice for the budget-minded woman. The home spa beauty tool is the only pedicure appliance of its kind to receive the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance, and with 2 percent of profits to support alternative treatments and screening for women's cancer, this is brains on beauty.

  • Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultimate Youth Creme

Beauty product review of Estée Lauder anti-aging 'Re-Nutriv' Ultimate Youth Eye Creme Preserves the look of youth Exclusive Youth Molecule™ Is Estee Lauder's anti-aging Ultimate Youth Eye Creme the fountain of youth? [break] Read review.[/break] HOW TO USE: Apply every morning and night. RESULTS: After using Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultimate Eye Creme every morning and night for three weeks, there is no doubt that the skin around my eyes and on my eyelids was more hydrated. With the inclusion of Camelina Sativa Oil, an exotic seed extract, I am confident that the oil softened my skin. The creme feels luxurious and extravagant, which it is -- ($250 for approximately seven ounces.) Or was it psychological? There is no doubt that using posh products on my face makes me feel intensely pampered. I guess a psychological reason is as good as any to use it. What it did not do was reduce the dark circles under my eyes. RESEARCH: Of interest to me was the research that went into this product. Inspired by genetic testing, Estee Lauder developed the Youth Molecule, Resveratrate. According to the literature, Estee Lauder took the best of traditional Resveratrol, which is associated with longevity, and made it significantly more concentrated, stable, and time-released. Resveratrate was shown in vitro testing to provide six times more protection from environmental damage, more than doubling the survival rate of skin cells. Additionally, the Youth Molecule is so top secret that only five scientists in the world know every detail. (I feel a mystery novel coming on. lol) TOXICITY: Because the product contains irritating ingredients, such as phenoxyethanol and butylene glycol, I would test this on your skin before plopping down $250. According to Skin Deep's cosmetic database, the Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv collection is moderate in toxic risk. It is important to note, that this product does not contain any fragrance, which can contain neurotoxins and is one of the top five allergens in the world. BOTTOM LINE: Unfortunately, the only fountain of youth in a jar is sunscreen. I would recommend this for women that aren't using retinol-based products and have deep pockets

  • Obagi Nu-Derm Blender

    Obagi Nu-Derm Blender

    Obagi Medical

Preparing for microdermabrasion about five years ago, I succumbed to my doctor's advice and plunked down the cash for Obagi Condition and Enhance System. Although it was extremely effective, I stopped using it, primarily because I changed derms. Somewhere in the recesses of my mind, I also remember "The System" being too much of a system, too complicated, too many products. But testing it for this review refreshed my memory and skin on its efficacy. [break] Discover the results.[/break] With eight products, Obagi Condition and Enhance System is designed to enhance the results of facial aesthetic procedures including but not limited to microdermabrasion, ablative lasers, dermal fillers, facial surgeries, Botox, ablative chemical peels, and laser resurfacing. How To Use: There is a morning routine and an evening routine which uses different products. You prepare your skin by cleansing with the Gentle Cleanser or Foaming Gel and then removing any residue with the Toner. You repair by using Clear, 4 percent Hydroquinone, which corrects discolorations, and Exfoderm, an alpha hydroxy acid that removes dead skin cells. You then apply Blender, Hydroquinone, and Tretinoin (which is the active ingredient in Retin-A and Renova and not included in this system and is available by prescription only), which normalizes cellular turnover. Finally, you use Healthy Skin Protection SPF 35 or Physical UV Block 32 to inhibit future damage. Results: Although this is a pricey skin care regimen, I know Obagi Condition and Enhance System works. After only a few days of usage, my skin looks surprisingly refreshed. The prescription strength products, including 4 percent hydroquinone and Tretinoin, will more than likely cause a tingling sensation and leave your skin red at first, but after a month of usage, your skin should become accustomed to the new products. If your skin can tolerate these products, this is the best option for improving collagen production and minimizing signs of sun damage. Bottom Line: Does the word "medical" that is associated with this product and the medical terms used to market this system, like senile lentigines and acne vulgaris (which mean age spots and pimples) truly make this skin care regimen worth the price? Not wholly. You certainly could purchase a drugstore cleanser like Eucerin Gentle Hydrating Cleanser ($7.00) The toner in this system is formulated for dry skin and it's hard to find a comparable drugstore alternative. The other products, including Retin-A, are worth the price. As a result of the many Obagi products used in this skin care regimen and the addition of Retin-A, there is a slight learning curve, but for pre-surgical cosmetic patients or women seeking antiaging products, this treatment regimen is highly effective. Obagi is targeted for women ages 25 to 55, but women who are considering any type of nonsurgical or surgical cosmetic procedure or have age spots, sallow skin, hyperpigmentation, acne, or rough skin would also benefit from this system. Although you can purchase Obagi skin care products on the Internet, Obagi recently launched a new website that encourages women to partner with a physician to improve the overall health of their skin.
