SOOTHING, SMOOTHING, AND BRIGHTENING
Jeepers, creepers, what this did for my peepers! Even at an early gosh-I-hate-to-get-out-of-bed hour this remarkable little pen soothed, smoothed and brightened the areas around my eyes. I tried it because I had read the results of clinical tests: an improvement in skin brightness? 100% (count me in there); smoother skin? 74% (yep, me again); firmer skin? 71% (don't think mine needed firming just yet, but you know what's said about an ounce of prevention!) If there's one thing I learned about using Perricone products it is to follow the instructions - just think to yourself, "Yes, Doctor," and do it. This eye smoother is meant to be used after and on top of eye treatment and before makeup and concealer. I've been disobdient a few times and it simply does not work anywhere near as well. I love the fact that the effect is instantaneous and it also provides long term benefits. No one's gonna' call me Ol' Blue Eyes yet!

THE PERFECT COVER-UP
A Wall Street cover-up can cost dearly; a beach cover-up protects. My latest must-have cover-up is Hidden Corrective Concealer by Hourglass, which doesn't cost a fortune and contains Vitamin E to protect and aid in healing. Housed in a lipstick-like shiny bronze tube the Concealer easily smooths into place. I gently apply to blemish or under eyes then lightly pat with a finger tip. Presto-changeo! The Concealer is so creamy that there's no pulling of the delicate eye area, and it swiftly disappears under foundation or powder. As a matter of fact, I often go without foundation, only sun screen and you'd never know I had any Concealer on. Further it has maximum staying power so there's no need to reapply for evening. Since my skin is fair, my Concealer shade is "Pearl". I've been using it for about a month and the Concealer still looks new, so a tube will undoubtedly last for a very long time. Hooray for Hourglass!

AMAZING SKIN CARE
Renova was too harsh for me (and too much for my budget). Needless to say it also dried my skin. Avene's Retrinal is just right! There is no added dryness and after several weeks of use there is a noticeable difference in skin texture, a smoothing and softening. A little timid, I began slowly at first just using it every other night. Now, I use it nightly with absolutely no skin irritation or necessity of following it with a moisturizer. I'm eager to see what the results are after months of use when I've noted improvement in just weeks!

SOOTHES MY TEXAS SKIN
You'll know what bliss is When you use Almond Kisses To moisturize your skin. Each Miss, Ms., and Missus Will love Almond Kisses With its scent tempting as sin. The hydrating properties of Almond Kisses are amazing, penetrating deeply and moisturizing skin from morn to night or dusk to dawn. Recommended for all skin types Pure Almond Oil is recognized as a superior emollient not only for moisturizing but also to soothe irritation and increase the health and vitality of skin. As always, Lush presents the freshest products and this milk white cream reminds me of the pristine newness of just fallen snow. I love to gently massage it into my skin and release the subtle scent of carnation and tangerine. This is especially soothing, sooo relaxing at bedtime. When morning comes my skin is still soft and smooth. Almond Kisses does not disappear in the night as many moisturizers do. One more lovely from Lush! - Gail Cooke

In her recent book "Free Gift With Purchase," the Beauty Editor of Lucky Magazine, Jean Godfrey-June, writes: "I'd like to say in every issue that Laura Mercier's concealer is the best....." I'll second that. Mercier's pot of Secret Concealer is a bit of magic not only as a cover-up but its moisture-rich, emollient formula is also TLC for the dry, sensitive skin under our eyes. The addition of Vitamin E stays moisture loss while Vitamin A conditions skin. Just a wee bit of Secret Concealer gives maximum coverage that looks totally natural as it banishes fine lines around the eyes and obscures any darkness or shadows beneath. I'd recommend setting it with Mercier's Translucent Powder for long lasting day into evening cover. - Gail Cooke

LIP STRIP + LIP LOVE IS PERFECT !
While I love the Lip Strip, pairing it with Lip Love is perfection for me. It's called Lip Makeover Kit, and here are my thoughts: More than soothing, more than smoothing, Laura Geller's two product Lip Makeover Kit gives lips twice the tender loving care they need, and a double dose of softness. While there are many lip "scrubs" on the market, they leave you to decide how to hydrate. And, there are a plentitude of lip softeners that are of little benefit when dry, rough skin isn't removed. This dandy daily treatment doesn't miss a trick - first apply Lip Strip, an effective yet gentle exfoliator that buffs away dry skin. Next, apply Lip Love, an unparalleled gloss that thoroughly hydrates and enhances shine. Lips have never looked so luscious!

Who among us hasn't tried umpteen different ways to effectively remove makeup? I went through a period of dampening a cotton ball with what was purported to be a good eye makeup remover and then cleansing the rest of my face with another product. Results? Not too satisfactory! However, patience does seem to have its rewards because after years of trying, experimenting, and, yes, tugging of skin, I've found Armani's Cream Nera Mineral Cleansing Balm. Balm is often defined as an ointment used to heal or soothe the skin. Precisely! When you massage this Cleansing Balm over your face, it becomes an oil that simply melts makeup! Once that has been done, the Balm and the makeup are easily rinsed away. As if the gentle thorough cleansing were not enough the Balm leaves skin soft, shining with a healthy glow. Another A for Armani!

SLEEK, SILKY, AND SHINY
How do I love Lancome Color Fever Plumper? Let me tell you the whys. It gives lips an added fullness immediately yet without the burning sensation of other plumpers. After all, "Hot Lips" was only on "Mash" - remember that? It can be worn as a gloss with a bevy of beautiful colors from which to choose (Try "Souffle" for a golden coral or "Puckered for a glistening innocent pink). It can also be worn as a primer under lipstick, which I often do. It can be blotted without disappearing if I want a matte finish. It does not leave traces on my teeth if I smile as my last plumper did. (Somehow a gooey pink on pearly whites spoils the effect). Another lovely from Lancome! - Gail Cooke

AN A FOR ABSOLUE HAND
Whether I'm "holding hands at midnight," lending a hand, or being "the hand that rocks the cradle," let's face it, my hands are always on display. Of course, I want them to look appealing and feel soft and smooth, too. That can be a bit of a challenge considering all the tasks they do and that I can't hold back the hands of time! For me, the absolute worst are sun spots, age spots, hearty freckles, whatever you want to call them, they're brown. Absolue Hand cream is formulated to discourage, diminish, zap those unwanted visitors. In addition, it protects with UV FPS 15. I love to garden and all that fun in the sun has taken a bit of a toll. However, after just a few weeks of use there's a noticeable difference in the skin on my hands - it's clearer, softer and even firmer. This cream provides the ultimate in hydration without stickiness. With other hand creams or lotions I used to put a dab in the palm of my hand then rub hands together. I've found optimum results with Absolue Hand by first applying to the backs of hands and then massaging. An A for Absolue Hand - with multiple benefits it tops my A-list for hand creams. $42.00 for 3.4 oz. that lasts and lasts at lancome-usa.com. - Gail Cooke
