i bought these to try to replace the unfindable goody perfect wrap bobby pins. they were a lot smaller that the goodies. and they are difficult to open. they're too round and the force applied to open them just sends them twisting around to the side without opening them. very annoying.

i love these pins. i am caucasian with shoulder-length wavy hair and i can twist my hair up into a french twist and secure it with one pin. it's become hard to find. perhaps not enough kinky-haired people used it for their wraps and not enough non-kinky-haired people ran across it in the "ethnic" products section of wal-mart where i found mine. but since the local wal-mart moved to a new building, many things have changed. there is no longer a sewing department, they've discontinued stocking the bobby pins, and there's grocery department. (stocked with small to mid-sized packages of grocery items -- useless for those of us who always by the packaging-efficient and money-saving jumbo sizes. but that's a different story!) i've been hoard my last 4 pins and searching for them online and in stores without remembering the name of them. today i was organizing things and ran across a goody card with 3 pins on it and the name of them. i ran to the computer to google them. the goody website only has their new products online. they don't have ANY of their humble bobby pins online. they don't have the "mosaic collection" online. using the product finder -- looks like wal-mart was the only one who carried them. according to the site, the wal-mart 20 miles away DOES. i will go there soon and stock up on the pins!
