Best Mascara for Easy Removal EVER! No flaking or smudging, either!
L'OREAL BEAUTY TUBES - Easy Off Mascara!!!! How many of you dread the mascara removal process? The inky black smudges, the endless cotton pads, the tugging, the pulling. Ugh. I dread it! What if I told you that not only have I found the Holy Grail of Mascara Removal - I have found a mascara that does not flake, clump or come off at all during the day - even though it is NOT technically waterproof! L'Oreal Beauty Tubes Mascara is a WONDROUS invention. It is a two-step mascara but worth the time. The white end is a lash primer, of course, that coats each individual lash, and the black end - the business end - is some sort of rubbery silicone-based formula that actually forms a miniature TUBE surrounding the lash. Not a fiber - that will break off and irritate these baby blues - but a real honest to goodness tube that sets and holds all day long. The effect? Lush, voluminous lashes, no clumps, no flaking, no eye irritation. During allergy season here in the Nation's Capital, I teared up every day and the TUBES held. I wiped tears away during a weepy moment - mascara still there. So how do you remove this wondrous novelty, you ask? WARM WATER. That is it. I splash warm water on my face to soften the lashes, then squeeze a bit of eye makeup remover on a cotton pad and swipe - VOILA, and COOL: about 80 miniature eyelashes slide right off, on the pad!!! I have also heard that some women use their fingers to slide the tubes off. What does this mean? This means that once you do the ONE MOVEMENT to remove the tubes, that's it! You can go on to toner, or lotion, or tweezing, or Ambien, or whatever your next move is at night. Beauty Tubes by L'Oreal won a CEW award earlier this year - meaning, for those insiders in the beauty industry - this mascara is a keeper. I think so too - great for sensitve eyes and those of us who dread the removal process. The only bummer? It comes in only Black and Blackest Black - what about we blondes that like the Brown? Available at CVS Pharmacy and other mass-market retailers for $10.99 - and worth EVERY PENNY. It is often on sale for Buy 1, Get 1 Free or Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off, too! :)

The Best Hair Day EVER!
I have been having A GREAT HAIR WEEK. I have never had hair like this - all owing to Kerastase Resistance Volumactive spray. That is it - I did the elimination diet on my hair regime and have entirely scientifically proved that this is the secret to my bouncy, smooth-but-piecy hair lately! Okay - so what does this have to do with great drugstore finds? They now carry it at my local drugstore and grocery store! This means that one doesn't have to purchase it from a pushy hair salonista anymore - or over the internet. Kerastase is owned by L'Oreal Inc., who owns a multitude of premium and drugstore beauty brands - which means that the patented ingredients in one is able to be used in all. For those of you thinking that Kerastase is out of your budget, L'Oreal has introduced the EverPure line of shampoos, conditioners and treatments - and they are amazing, especially for the price. The EverPure line boasts a wonderful attribute for those with color-treated hair - SULFATE-FREE. Sulfates are those ingredients in hair products that make produce lather - the sudsy, creamy glee of shampoo. Not for people with damaged or colored hair, though - too rough. So EverPure is packed with herbs likee rosemary and mint, and more tress-friendly surfactant care. I adore the EverPure Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner. The silver foil futuristic packaging is also travel and shower friendly - a flip-top tube rather than a clumsy bottle! The Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner are great when it is dry outside and my hair is more brittle and crispy than usual, and the Smoothing duo is great for the humid Washington DC weather in the summer. They are usually priced at $7.99 - but go on sale for only $5.99 apiece - a huge bargain for this type of aromatic hair care. The line includes an intensive masque for dry hair and a UV spray protectant as well - all of which I consider mini-Kerastases in their own rights. I have used the Chroma Line of Kerastase - for colored hair - and have found little difference between the Chroma and the EverPure! Anyway - sorry for the rant, but a good drugstore tip - both HIGH and VALUE brand shampoos are both available at your local mass retailer, and you can use coupons for both! :)

BEST SUNBLOCK EVER. AIRY, LIGHTWEIGHT AND MATTE!
I no longer have to buy this fantastic sun block in Europe or Canada - I make a two block trip to my local drugstore! Anthelios 60 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid does what it says it does - provides five hours of stable sun protection with absolutely no greasy residue - it literally is a liquid that you have to shake in the cool flat bottle - and then apply like foundation - no kidding! It literally disappears into your skin and leaves no trace - and I tested it at the pool this weekend - no sun at all. It is also water-resistant and lasts for four hours without re-applying, because it is packed with antioxidants, the new sunblock additive. You will NOT be disappointed with this block. It is worth every penny and is a MUST HAVE for those with fair complexions.
