    DHC Blotting Paper

    Works great, cheap!

These have actually been repackaged - they are called "Oil Blotting Paper" and they come in cute, pink paper packaging that so far has held up to being knocked around my makeup bag. I used to love using Boscia's "blotting linens" but at $10 for 100, they aren't cheap by any means. You get 100 of these babies for $4! I don't see any difference other than they are unscented, and many of Boscia's are scented. I usually have to use more than one, but at this price I'm okay with that. I'm also a regular DHC customer, so I've built up my loyalty discount and I save my points to redeem for free products (like this) They're affordable, they work great, they come from a company I place regular orders with anyways - what's not to love?!

  • DHC Lip Cream
    8.0

    DHC Lip Cream

    Nice but a bit expensive

Fantastic lip balm - very moisturizing and colorless, flavorless, odorless. If I'm wearing a lip product during the day, I prefer not to use this though - it has an almost glossy finish, and while lipsticks and other glosses go over it well, they seem to "thin out" a bit if this is underneath, unless you wait long enough for it to sink in - I'm not usually that patient! It is a lovely lip treatment to use at nighttime though, or when I am not wearing lipstick, but I think it is a bit pricey for the amount of product you get. Points for working beautifully, and for the elegant (for a lip balm) slimline packaging (though I'm not crazy about the peach color, but the packaging is quality) but I've found many other lip balms I like just as much, at twice the product for half the price. I'll toss this in my cart once in a while if I'm looking for a little extra to give me free shipping, or when I have enough points for a free product, but other than that I can't say I would buy this again, and use it on a regular basis.

  • DHC Mild Lotion

    DHC Mild Lotion

Great product to keep on hand

This liquid is wonderfully refreshing, and adds light moisture to my skin without being oily or greasy. I always have a variety of moisturizers on hand - which one I use depends on the time of year, what other products and/or makeup I might be wearing that day, and how my skin is feeling. I am typically normal leaning towards the dry side, and very prone to clogs. I love keeping this stuff around, it is wonderful for soothing dry or irritated skin, for moisturizing on it's own (sometimes this is all I need for moisture, in the humid summer at night when one of my skin treatments also adds a bit of moisture) and for adding a bit of extra moisture (especially in the winter when my skin gets super dry, but I don't want to use a very heavy cream that might clog my skin - this is wonderful to wear underneath one of my usual lighter moisturizers) A little goes a long way as well, and I love the simple clean packaging, in a frosted glass bottle. Lovely product, I always try to keep this on hand!

    DHC Make Off Sheet

Disappointing, especially because I love DHC

In case you can't already tell from my reviews, I'm a big fan of DHC and have tried many of their products. This was the rare product that I was not thrilled with - matter of fact, they were a huge disappointment. I was looking for cleansing sheets not to use every day as a makeup remover, but as a quick way to remove makeup and get my face clean without being dried out on those late weekend nights when all I want to do is fall into bed, but don't want to sleep before washing my makeup off. This didn't do it for me, after wiping my face with one of these it still didn't feel like all my makeup was removed, so I used a second. Rubbed my eyes hard, and still had eyeliner and mascara on. Not to mention my face still felt like it needed to be washed, and I wasn't even wearing my heavier foundation. So - it didn't get my face clean, and though it didn't dry my face out, I would have needed moisturizer afterwards anyways. It claims to be an "all in one" product - cleanse, tone, and moisturize - and I have to say, I felt like it didn't do any of those very well. I'm so used to my face feeling super clean from using Deep Cleansing Oil, I'm sure nothing will compare! I will keep searching for sheets to use once in a while though, something to keep in my bathroom and use as needed. Haven't found a favorite yet, but I have found several varieties I like much more than these.

  • DHC Silky Cotton

    DHC Silky Cotton

Nice, but not worth the money

I use cotton pads for all kinds of things, from applying toner and treatments to my skin, to using them to remove eye makeup and to remove nail polish. These cotton pads are really lovely in feel, they feel just like the name says, "silky" The texture is super smooth, and feels great on your skin when using it to apply toners and liquids and such. I found that they were way too big for me though , and would often cut them in half. I also found that they seemed to absorb way more stuff than my usual cotton pads from Target would, which was pretty much the deciding factor for me. They feel lovely, and don't shed, but ultimately really not worth it. I can get a package of a couple hundred cotton pads for a couple bucks at the drugstore - these are over $5 for 80. Because I go through cotton pads so quickly, the price is a real turn off. Depending on how much your various beauty liquids are, the fact that they seem to absorb so much product may also be a deciding factor. I rated them a 5 because they do work well and feel nice, but the price is what kept it down from being any higher.

  • DHC Concentrated Eye Cream

    DHC Concentrated Eye Cream

Didn't realize how much I loved it, until I was without it

All I really, realistically ask of an eye cream is that it moisturizes well, isn't greasy or so heavy that I can't wear makeup over it, doesn't irritate my eyes or burn if I get a little in them, and that it doesn't cause milia around my eyes. I know better than to look for a dark circle quick fix or wrinkle miracle. That is why this is my absolute favorite eye cream. They say that most people can really just use their regular facial moisturizer around their eyes and be fine. I've had some trouble with this though, with irritation and other issues, and need something specifically made for use around the eyes it seems. Concentrated Eye Cream is a wonderful, basic, "bland" cream - no fragrance, perfect amount of moisture, wears beautifully, doesn't irritate my eyes, and affordable - one pot will last me close to a year, using it every morning and every night. I didn't realize how much this did for me until I was without it for a few weeks, and since I have to order online, I was stuck using whatever else I had around. My regular facial moisturizer irritated the corners of my eyes, so that was out. I also noticed my eye area looking puffier than normal. Since that wasn't working, I trekked out to Sephora to pick something up to use until my DHC order came in. I got an eye cream I had a sample of the year before. Moisturized well, but my makeup seemed to get patchy around my eyes using it, and after a week or so, I noticed a bit of milia around my eyes. My DHC order came in and I was so relieved to begin using this cream again! It doesn't seem glamorous - very basic packaging in a plain glass jar, no fancy sounding ingredients or outrageous claims - but it works beautifully and does exactly what I want it to do. Now I will just have to make sure I never run out of it again! If it really did eliminate dark circles, I would have given it 10 stars, but even I realize that that's just about an impossible task, so I rated it as high as I can rate any eye cream! Never realized how much I loved it until I was without it - you really don't know what you've got til it's gone!

  • DHC Deep Cleansing Oil
    10.0

    DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

    My staple makeup remover

I've been using this for 3 years, and this is the one beauty product in my cabinet that I can't believe I ever lived without! Removes every trace of makeup, even the heavy stuff, as well as waterproof sunscreens. My skin never felt so clean, and not stripped, and it's so easy to use - the fact that it rinses completely clean is a huge plus, I've used plain oil to remove makeup before, but then you have to get the oil off. The texture of this is a bit thick but rubbing it all over a dry face, massaging it to break up the makeup and whatever else is on my face, and then adding water to emulsify and rinse off clean really is something I look forward to at the end of the day. This was the first cleansing oil I ever tried, and being the product junkie that I am, I tried others (by DHC as well as other brands) as well as other makeup removers and nothing compares, I always come back to this. Nothing in the ingredients to irritate sensitive skin either, it's is a nice, simple makeup remover that does it's job, and does it well! It does seem pricey at first, but a bottle lasts me a long time and nothing else compares when it comes to getting everything off my face. Amazing stuff, I'll never stray to another again!
