Sexy Hair Spray and Play Hairspray

Not as outstanding as some of their other products

After first trying Big Sexy Hair's Spray and Stay, I became a huge fan of the product, and after reading some of the other reviews, systematically began trying some of the line's other products. This is one of them, and it's the first of their products that I'm not sure I would purchase again, mostly because of the price. I can find less expensive products that do the same thing. I like to have a product (so far that's generally been a hair spray) that I can apply to my dry hair before using a flat iron or styling wand, so that's what I use this product for. I find it to spray on evenly, and I can brush through it without difficulty. I believe it does help with the ease and hold of my heat styling, but no more so than the less expensive brand I use. It's a good product, but I gave it 7 stars mostly because I probably will not purchase it again because of the price, and the fact that I have a less expensive product that I use that does the same thing. Still a big fan of the line, and will continue to try their other products.

  • Sexy Hair Root Pump Plus Humidity Resistant Volumizing Spray Mousse

This definitely helps plump up the roots! I have rather fine textured, mod-high volume, medium-long hair, and this product works very well. I will say I find the spray nozzle confusing, as I don't find that spraying the product directly on to my hair works very well for me, but I'm probably doing it wrong. So I spray it into my hands first and then apply it to the roots, which seems to work well for me as the product does come out in a light, foam. The scent is okay. Not bad. Not great. I will most likely purchase again.

  • Sexy Hair Big Sexy Hair Flip It Over Texture Spray

I have fine textured, moderate-thick volume, medium-long hair. I use this product when I've curled or waved my hair, and I really like the results. Pros- The product is simple to apply (spray), and adds texture and volume to fine hair without weighing it down. Cons- The scent is pretty awful, and when you sprayed, a powdery textured mist sprays EVERYWHERE (protect your jewelry and furniture). I will purchase this product again.

CoverGirl Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara

Unless they change the packaging,I will not purchase again

While I find the actual product to be decent, I can't get past the extreme awkwardness of the wand. It is too fat and round to "grip" properly, and the curved brush does nothing for me. I think I would like the actual mascara, if I could get it to apply properly. If you could combine the CoverGirll LashBlast Length wand/brush/packaging with the clump crusher mascara product, you could have the perfect combination. For now, in order to not waste my money, I first apply Lashblast Length to all of my lashes, and then a second layer with the Clump Crusher, just to the outer corner of the lashes, and that works ok.

    CoverGirl CG Smoothers BB Cream

Perfect lightweight, light-medium coverage BB cream

First off, consider this more of a tinted moisturizer than a foundation. It has a very sheer, smooth application, with a light-medium coverage. I don't think it's a good option for oily skin. I have combination skin, so I don't think I could ever "apply-and-go" without putting powder over it. Besides, it's only SPF 15, so I definitely use it in combination with my mineral makeup (SPF 15) for extra coverage, and it works very nicely. I have pronounced areas of melasma (darkened pigmentation) on fair skin, so I apply the BB cream, then a stick/cream concealer on those areas, and finish off with my mineral makeup, and that works very well for me. As I said, I have fair skin, and the 805 fair to light shade blends seamlessly into my skin,--almost disappears. It also has a brightening effect on my skin. It's an excellent value for the money.

Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox BB Beauty Balm

Good coverage-Application too thick and dry

After testing a sample of this product twice, I decided this product is goes on a bit too thick and dry for my liking. The coverage is good, but I prefer a product that is less "obvious". It goes on rather dry and matte, which I don't find to be the best option for fine lines and wrinkles, and the shade was too beige for my fair skin-tone. However, this product receives very good ratings on other sites, so take my review with a grain of salt. The best advice I could give is to purchase a sample size before committing to the full price tag.

Fusion Beauty Infatuation Liquid Shine Multi-Action Lip Fattener

I'm sold. The Lipgloss Junkie has a new fave.

I am a self-professed lip gloss junkie. I'm constantly searching for the "perfect" shade, texture, applicator, and wearing lip gloss. I'm very picky about my lipgloss, and I was skeptical when I first tried this sample I received in my Birch Box, but after one use, I'm a fan. I think I have a new favorite brand. First impressions. The packaging is pretty basic and unimpressive. I received a generous sample-size of the product in "La Lip Jolie". I'm not a huge fan of the brush applicator, as it made it a little messy to apply. At first glance, I thought the shade was going to be a bit too pink for my liking, as I prefer a more peach-tone nude shade gloss. I really liked this shade however. After application, it appears very sheer with only a hint of pink tone. It has a moist application without it being too wet or too thick or sticky, and it stay on for 3-4 hours (until I removed it. It may have lasted longer, but like I said I removed it.) I felt that it retained just the right amount of moisture, without becoming sticky and without the need to reapply the product. I did not try to eat while wearing it, but did take sips out of my water bottle. As far as the lip-plumping properties, I'm not convinced--but no more or less than any other lip "plumping" product. It does give that tingly/slight-burn-feeling that makes you "think" that it's doing something to give you more of a pout, but in reality, probably doesn't do a whole lot. Psychological or physiological, do I still "fall" for lip plumpers? Um,--yes. Because I'm so particular about lip glosses, I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this product.

Vasanti Brighten Up! - Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator

    Excellent exfolliant and skin brightener

This is a review of a sample size I received of this product, and this is why I wanted to purchase the Birchbox sample box! I love this product, and am definitely planning to purchase it soon. Wonderful exfolliant and my skin feels soft, smooth and radiant! This is the first "enzymatic" product I've ever tried. I didn't expect it to have exfoliation properties (abrasive), however it has a very fine grain abrasion to it. It is very thick, but spreads on the skin more easily than I expected. A little goes a very long way so I feel it will be an excellent value. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin and have not had any problem with break-outs after about 2 weeks of use. It apparently has a a light rose scent, that is so light, I didn't even notice it, and that's a good thing to me.

  • Dr. Jart+ Premium BB Beauty Balm SPF 45

I know that this goes against popular opinion, but while the color is fine, this product just goes on a bit too thick for my taste. I prefer a product that absorbs and blends seamlessly into the skin, which this product does not. I found I had to really work to get it blended and smoothed. I also did not find it's more cake-y finish to be very build-able, and my mineral makeup did not go on smoothly over it. I purchased a sample/travel size tube and used it 4 or 5 times before coming to conclusion. I would not purchase the full size product, especially for that price.

  • Sexy Big Sexy Hair Spray & Stay Intense Hold Hairspray

Sexy Big Sexy Hair Spray & Stay Intense Hold Hairspray

The Cadillac of all Super-ultra-hold hairsprays!

OMG! This hairspray is to DIE for! Okay, so first I have to say, that unless I were suffering a concussion, I could have never have imagined myself paying so much for "just a hairspray" ($17.95/can). Until now. So here's what happened: Last Christmas, I was an actress in a six night, seven performance dinner theater that was set in the 1940's. Of course our super-set, victory-rolled hairstyles required plenty of setting products, and mucho hairspray. Especially since I was also in charge of hair and makeup, I had practiced my hairstyle for weeks before the production. The day of our first full costume run-throughs (we were going to be running the show twice that day. It was one of our first chances for full costume, and wearing a hat over victory rolls isn't very easy, so I wanted to practice it.) It took me longer to get into costume than I thought it would. They called the cast to be ready in 10 minutes, and I hadn't even started to style my hair. When I realized I left my hairspray upstairs in my bag, I fellow cast member offered me her "Spray and Stay". I quickly teased and rolled my hair, and finished it off with a dose of the Big Sexy Hair product and ran to the stage shoving my hat onto my head. At the end of the day, when I went to brush out my hair, I stopped and looked at my hairstyle for the first time since that afternoon, and it hit me: My hair looked EXACTLY like it had looked early that morning when I styled and sprayed it. My rushed hairstyle had made it through 2 runs of a fast-paced musical in which I took my hat off and on several times during the show (without a mirror), danced, ran, and sweated all over the stage, WITHOUT A HAIR OUT OF PLACE! I couldn't believe it. Then I thought, "Well this is going to be fun to brush out!" Yet it brushed through my hair almost as if there wasn't any product in it! I ran out the next day and purchased my own can of awesome-ness to have for the run of the show. It's especially perfect for updos and half up-do's, but I also use it as a finishing spray when I'm wearing my naturally straight hair down in waves or curls. It does stiffen up the hair, but not weigh my ultra fine, yet volumous hair down. I'm now a Big Sexy Hair devotee.
